  5. Theresa and I are headed up to the lake now. Should be able to get out tonight through Sunday. Everyone we've talked to the past two weeks has said how terrible the fishing has been, all I could say back to them was, welcome to June on Lake Ontario! Unless you're fishing out of the western end of the lake, June is normally terrible until the lake sets up. Folks can't seem to remember back past last season. Last season was ABNORMAL and a blessing, not the norm. If you catch a king in June from any port East of Rochester, consider it a great day. The lake looks like it has begun to setup, but will probably take a few more weeks. Let's hope some early fish are wandering around though! If nothing else, it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend! The weatherman says it's supposed to be hot and sunny, which normally means the water will be flat!
  6. With the upcoming tournamemts we don't want to give out any information. NOT! Family obligations the past two weekends. We'll be up this weekend, although I hear the fishing has been TERRIBLE. Looking back at my reports in 2011, which was similar to this year's weather, fishing should pick up around the July 4th weekend. Until then, practice new things, new techniques, new combos... try all those things you never could before because you were too busy trying hard to catch fish! Nick
  7. I would have put that atlantic on the wall in a second, just so rare to catch one. I don't care what anyone says I still think lakers are the prettiest fish in the lake! Nick
  8. Nice report Skip! I'm chompin at the bit to get back up there! How was the bait picture? Nick
  9. We'll be joining another Captain from Arneys... need to go for the "Sodus Cup"... ProAm + SalmonSlam Nick
  10. Ok 4 more spots left for the Salmon Slam. A couple of maybes out there but first come first serve. Xylem, ITO Flies, and Shark Cannonballs have joined our sponsor list this year! The prizes packages for this year are really looking good. I've been working with the Project Healing Waters rep as well to start getting the veterans/servicemen lined up. We had a few veterans from Erie last year that left before midnight to make it up in time. I'm thinking of putting them up in a hotel the night before, would anyone be interested in having a get together the night before, to meet some of our vets as well as eachother? Nick
  11. Just make sure you secure it tightly! Also the batteries don't seems to last as long underwater for some reason... I thought they would have last longer in the colde water. And be sure to turn your volume down before playing the videos, as the sound is pretty loud on mine when it's under water.
  12. You and me both! It was really bugging me that I couldn't get any of the rods to fire with mark after mark going buy. Then I thought, hmm maybe it's shad or something. I saw some really big ones in wilson when I was over there. But nope, nada, nothing... so we had cotton, biting flies, and fish ghosts last weekend... I sure hope when I get back up there in a few weeks that at least 2 of the 3 are gone! Nick
  13. The cooler I just bought at Gander has detachable wheels. I pop them on once the cooler is on the dock, pop my knife box and stuff on it and roll it away. Nick
