  1. I use the trollpro, it works pretty well but is pretty big. You could mount the go pro to the down rigger with wire cable, I just don't know how you would keep it from spinning and make sure it points in the correct direction. That being said, it's a horrendous time suck filming under water. The lure needs to be within 2ft of the camera to see it. Then you need to sift through hours of footage to find the few fish that show up. Overall, it's neat, but not worth the time. Nick
  2. I can't wait to start hitting some steelies! Glad to see you getting into a few LakerTaker! I watched over an hour of underwater footage from last week.... I put the gopro down 30ft where we were seeing small mark after small mark... all I saw was lots of green water. I'm pretty sure all of those marks were nothing more than dense pockets of algae/plankton. Now I feel stupid for targeting them all morning haha. Nick
  3. Not sure, I use the one at Arneys. That one is deep with docks on both sides and has gas.
  4. I'll take fleas over cotton any day!
  5. Spectacular king for June! Gotta love when a big king hits a shallow dipsey Nick
  6. I hear ya Wayne. Hopefully it's just them getting up to speed this year and they're just starting to get into the swing of things. It is frustrating though when you're tired after a day of fishing and something so easy gets messed up. Coopers opened back up this year as well, so we'll have to try that place out...
  7. I'll send you a PM... I don't want to hijack this thread..
  8. The Fair Haven Challenge is always a fun event and one of the few us Sodus guys can fish our home port in. The three we can fish in Sodus are: Salmon Slam Sodus Pro Am Fair Haven Challenge
  9. It was terrible Saturday... never seen it nearly that bad! Nick
  10. Wow nice job SH! Any particular lure depth working better than others?
  11. Rainy day today. Talked to a few on the lake and the cotton is terrible still and the fishing still slow. In good news, the water level in the bay is way up. Higher than last summer for sure. We saw that Captain Jacks does breakfast now, so we gave it a try. They serve it in their banquet room which is like a large sunroom overlooking the bay. It was fun watching the boats come and go, real good place for the kids and significant others. Food was decent and cheap. Last night we tried to eat at Abe's Waterfront. It's really turned more into a bar scene (not our type of thing), with a pretty expensive menu... think steaks and seafood for $15-20 a plate. No more burgers, sandwiches, etc. It was loud as hell in the restaurant. We were seated and told of the long list of specials, then told most of them they were out of (it was 8pm). We asked for lobster bisque, out of it... we asked for clam chowder, out of it... we asked for calamari, out of it... the waitress told us they were pretty much out of all food. We ended up leaving and eating at Jacks. We'll have to try again in a few weeks. Forgot to take pics, sorry! Nick
  12. Nice job! That cotton made me almost toss a rod in the water today. I've never seen it that bad. It made fleas at their worst seem like no problem at all! Nick
  13. Another small fish, couldn't reel in due to cotton. Miserable between cotton and flies. Don't think I'm going to bother comin out tomorrow... give it a week to go away.
  14. Screen has looked like this all morning, not sure what they are but they aren't biting...
  15. Not as bad out past 160fow, but just had to cut my planer tow line to get about 20ft of it off.
