Today we headed to Canada to enjoy the Niagara wine trail. Theresa and I are not big drinkers, but we found out a few years ago that we really like icewine! It's a wine that is made by waiting to pick the grapes until they have frozen on the vines. They get about one drop of liquid per grape!
The wine trail is full of beautiful vineyards.
The first vineyard we stopped at was the icehouse
They had very good icewine including ice slushis that Theresa loved, but they jacked up their prices and did the buy two get one free thing... I hate it when places do that.
The next winery was Riverview. They had a limited amount of wines to taste and they were just ok.
After that we hit up a couple more commercial places, the first being Inniskillin.
The icewine here was very very good, but you pay for the quality.
The next place was Peller. The building and vineyard was absolutely stunning!
The icewine here was again very good, but you again paid for the quality. The tastings were also relatively inexpensive. This may be one of our new favorite wineries!
Since I was driving, I was only taking a little taste of the samples, "forcing" Theresa to drink the rest. She was getting pretty "joyful" at this point so we decided to head to Niagara-on-the-Lake for lunch. We hit up our favorite restaurant Corks.
They have the best fish and chips!
After lunch we hit up a few of the cool little shops on Niagara-on-the-Lake. If you haven't been there yet, it's a very cool place to visit...
We also stopped at a small non-commercial winery Sunnybrook. The tastings were very cheap and the wine so so. We came away with a blueberry chocolate wine, more for its unusualness than flavor.
Also, how cool is it to see the speedometer over 100, even if in Km/hr
On the way home we stopped by our spring stomping grounds and hit up the Wilson Boat House for a bowl of delicious seafood chowder, YUM!
Back at dock now and the wind is absolutely howling. I'm not even going to bother to set the alarm for the morning. Hopefully, it will settle down and we can get some fishing in... if not, at least we'll have some wine to keep us busy

Hey Sam, wish I could but we have family and friends here in Sodus For us Sodus is a lot more than just fishing, it's a community of fishermen and friends. Even when the fish aren't biting we have plenty of fun! Besides, with 6 days of fishing left, you might see our name on that leaderboard yet

That sucks....... happened to us on Saturday on a large fish....lost everything when wire broke. No fun. Front is definately moving in, as I looked at radar. I hope tomorrow is better as well!
Yeah, wave forecast for the rest of the week looks aweful, hopefully the front will move through faster than they expect.
