  1. I think I have a drag problem on my new tekota 800. The drag goes from nothing to pretty heavy. Is that normal and im just not used to a big reel? [ Post made via Android ]
  2. Slowly headed that way! [ Post made via Android ]
  3. 80-100 sliding out now though. [ Post made via Android ]
  4. Well that was an eventful start! Got my first rigger down at 70 and started to put my other rigger down, 70 fired, by the time I got the other rod out of my hands it was gone. Finished putting the second rigger down at 90, and began on the first rigger again. Boom, 90 rigger starts peeling, leave the first rigger and jump on second rigger... Pop goes the first rigger... Theresa is still asleep so it's all me. Lost the third fish, but nettedthe second. Black/silver and green/orange spoons. [ Post made via Android ]

  6. Another beautiful day in Sodus, let's go fishin! [ Post made via Android ]
  7. Headed up to the lake now, should be there about 2am. Gonna try to get a few hours of sleep and then get out there. We'll be there through noon Saturday, then headed to the parents' houses for Father's Day. Looks like there is a nice surface break setup not too far offshore. We'll be starting out pretty shallow tomorrow and pointing her North until we hit a fish Wave forecast looks good, except there might be East winds. Too much out of the East and it will surely shut the fishing right down. FRIDAY SOUTHEAST WINDS 10 KNOTS OR LESS BECOMING NORTHEAST. WAVES 1 FOOT OR LESS. FRIDAY NIGHT NORTHEAST WINDS 10 KNOTS OR LESS BECOMING SOUTHEAST. WAVES 1 FOOT OR LESS. SATURDAY SOUTHEAST WINDS LESS THAN 10 KNOTS. WAVES 1 FOOT OR LESS. Summer derby begins Saturday, and I've already warned everyone that wants to come out with me... no ticket no boatride Also for anyone who hasn't seen yet, please check out the Sodus Bay Healing Waters Salmon Slam thread over in the Open Forum, we're all getting together to give back to those who have given so much to our Country. http://www.lakeontariounited.com/fishing/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=32689 Nick
  8. I heard back from Ray Markiewicz from Healing Waters today. I gave him a rough schedule for the day and he's going to verify that meeting at Arneys at 6:30am for a 7am departure will work. I let him know that we have had a ton of outpouring of volunteers and support and he was extremely appreciateve of everyone that is willing to help out. There are plenty of veterans, so the more boats we can get the better! Nick

  14. Im using the new spx-5r and love it. Easy install, inexpensive and it keeps the boat straight. Only downside is the steering wheel mounted motor is very loud. [ Post made via Android ]
  15. If you try drifting or mooching let us know how you make out! You could always run a copper rod off your outriggers with cut bait, twinkies, and a flasher while trolling. [ Post made via Android ]
  16. I lost my last one this past weekend I'll have to see if Warrens cab order some from DW as well... [ Post made via Android ]
  17. I tend to agree with put it in front of them and they'll hit it. We had a hot dipsey this past weekend at 220' out. At 230' out it wouldnt get hit... made no sense to me, but we proved it twice. Perhaps the dodger fly that was hot was just in that "perfect" spot. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. I find that especially true when using just a spoon. The flotation of a spinny seems to help a bit. [ Post made via Android ]
  19. Those are some nice chromers, I think there will be some seriously large steelies around in july this year! [ Post made via Android ]

Work needs me in DC this week, so I'm going to try to drive from DC up to Sodus Thursday night into Friday morning... not sure I'll be able to wake up and get out Friday morning, but maybe Friday evening. We'll fish Saturday morning too, then head down state to spend Sat evening and Sunday with our Fathers.
