  1. I imagine the difference would be minimal and not worth the breakoffs with 20#. [ Post made via Android ]
  2. Thanks Mort, I sent him an email. Nick
  3. Thanks Musky, I contacted the DAV headquarters as well as the Rochester DAV. Nick
  4. Anyone know if there are any volunteer organizations looking for boats to volunteer? I really wanted to look into setting up a "give back" event for returning troops to take their families out for a free day of fishing, but I just havent had the time to do the legwork. I'd like to give back a bit, anyone know of any organizations or events looking for help like this? Nick [ Post made via Android ]
  5. 20# vs 30# is for mono, not wire. Fleas will be showing up any day so stick with 30lb line. Do NOT use mono on your divers, wire only. I disagree with rick on the 3 setting and 500 copper though as I use that setup a lot to keep a dipsey high for steelies. Also, if you run your copper far off to the side with an otter boat you can run a 3 setting dipsey no problem (that's what I do). If youre running your copper off the side of the boat, Rick is right dont run a 3 setting dipsey. Nick [ Post made via Android ]
  6. I think that marina got a bad name after people found there were cameras in the bathrooms and they were showing the videos after hours. It was a nice marina, but a lot of non fisherman that werent happy with our old smoky 2 stroke or waking them up at 5am when we left. And it was a very long drive to the lake. If you cant get a hold of anyone and need me to check it out for you this weekend, let me know. Nick [ Post made via Android ]
  7. Rod I think people are just venting, hopefully the committee can pull some good ideas out of it all. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. I'm very glad I wasnt asked to volunteer my time for the committee. Everyone needs to understand everyone is doing their best to make the tournament better, although we may not all agree with the changes, myself included. I actually thought the small craft advisory was a great idea, unfortunately on the west end it can sometimes still be fishable during one, sodus and oswego, very rarely during a small craft advisory. Maybe having a small test craft, like a 19ft head out is a good idea, just make the person anonymous so he doesnt feel the pressure of 30 guys in big boats staring him down. Curious to hear from some of the first time proam guys with smaller boats.... If it was a non tournament day and you had your wife and teen child on board would you have fished? 22. Ray you may even want to call gullys... Because it's so early in the season, they used to have really cheap dock prices for a month (that was several years ago that I docked there). There used to be a bayliner dealer a few miles away that you could ask how much to park it (if theyre still open). There's whites marina on the beacon side upriver a bit. [ Post made via Android ]
  23. Great report! Were you running your short dipsey the farthest towards the front of the boat? Did you have at least 100ft difference between the two dipseys? If yes, then you may be taking some crazy sharp turns? Floaters have been bad this year and will only get worse as the water warms and the fish move deeper. Our boat is too high to hold the fish in the water and almost lost a net once trying what you did We keep a lot of fish especially if on copper or dipseys.... friends and coworkers will always take fresh fish.
