  2. We're going to give the 350fow range a try down to the bar, then if nothing work that shallow stuff back. I just still cant believe how little we have marked this week. [ Post made via Android ]
  3. Thanks for the heads up, we'll head that way. Two other boats out here sounded like one steelie between the two, yikes! [ Post made via Android ]
  4. Small coho 68' rigger free slider, blue watermelon. 220fow. [ Post made via Android ]
  5. Well at least the skunks out, 60 rigger seasick waddler. [ Post made via Android ]
  6. West wind with a bit of chop, I was hoping that would get the fish active... No such luck. Screen is blank 50-170fow. Not a touch yet. [ Post made via Android ]
  7. No problem its lonely out there without my usual shoot the sh*t sodus buddies lol [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Doug we're here in Wilson all week stop by and say hi! I always wonder with topics like this ... are we sure it's not that we mark an area where we catch fish, then fish it MORE because we marked it, then mark it again ... kinda like that favorite lure that you fish 5hrs a day that you think catches more fish than the lure you only fish 1hr a day? Nick
  9. Guys help me out here... in Wilson there are all of these boat houses that look like the water level 50 years ago when they were built was probably 10ft higher? Did the water level used to be much higher on average and get lowered at some point? I for one would love a bit more water under me in my dock and my prop would really love the water level to stay a bit higher longer in the fall, once they lower the lake I'm sitting in mud and rocks But I don't know much about this proposal so I can't say yay or nay. Nick
  10. Nick, I assume that the kicker is offset to one side, if that is the case you may want to run a small bag on the same side as the motor and run at a higher RPM. Give it a try with a 5 gal bucket and see if it corrects the drift before you buy the bag. Just an idea, may work for you. Keep the reports coming!!! Hey Carl, yes the kicker is offset to the passenger side. I ended up running my single otter boat off of the motor side thinking the same thing you were, would adding the bag be overkill? I have a small troll bag I can put out tomorrow and try, I'm just not sure the kicker will have enough power as it was struggling at full RPM today to keep 2.8mph GPS (2.1 DR downspeed). Might be worth trying with the old prop though as that had more speed just less oomph.
  11. Had dinner tonight at the Wilson House. The wings were nice and big and meaty! The medium sauce was delicious, the barbecue honey was eh. The price was pretty good, $12 for 20 wings. We also got a $4.95 grilled cheese with fries... I was going to take a picture, but they were gone before I could get the camera out Boss wants to come out again tomorrow, so hopefully we can get him on some bigger fish! Sounds like we might have been fishing under them today, most of our stuff was down in the 70-100' range. It's hard to pinpoint where to fish when the fish finder is blank and bites are all over the place! Btw, my RCA connection on my depthraider broke and I tried replacing it with one from radioshack, which rusted just at the sight of water. Does anyone know a local place I can pick up a stainless RCA connection? Definitely need the male side, but might replace both sides. Tight lines to everyone out tomorrow! Nick
  12. Nice job! We struggled out there today and gave up around 1pm. Were you able to get dodger/flies moving? 90% of my bites have been on spoons, might go all spoons tomorrow.... Nick
  13. We tried a new prop on our nissan 9.8 kicker, a solas 4 blade high thrust prop. The old prop we had problems with "drift" and the riggers would tangle from the boat drifting sideways. The new prop did a much better job, but when the wind picked up today we had trouble doing 2.8 at full throttle, so I might need to go back to my old prop. [ Post made via Android ]
  14. Well at the end of the trip we put our outdrive up so I could check the prop, the lure was hooked on my ezsteer bar! I got my fav coho spoon back and no worries about line in my prop. [ Post made via Android ]
  15. If I didnt know better id think it was mid june. Weather is beautiful, lake is flat, and the fish arent biting. [ Post made via Android ]
  16. FWIW, swimming in a Marina is potentially dangerous with all of the stray currents from shore power etc., and not knowing who's got messed up boat wiring. You'd be much safer anchoring in shallow water outside of the harbor where there is no chance of electrocution. Tim Yikes, might need to pull the boat then. 17. Sorry guys im pretty sure it didnt get in the prop (we are on kicker power). [ Post made via Android ]
  18. I would make sure when you pull the boat to trailer home, you check/change your lower unit oil..... Any water or milky oil in there and it would be wise to change your seal. Good luck. Wish I was out there this week...But I'm running charters in OZ..I will be back out this weekend though. Keep up the reports ! Lots of people like to follow you and your success via this thread! Where are the pictures of the dog? Make sure you throw that tennis ball twice as much as YOU want to. Pup had too much play time hes down below sleeping! You think that lure could cause water to get in? Now im worried, I think theresa is goin swimmin when we get back to the marina... [ Post made via Android ]
  19. Steelies and cohos are biting on 90 dipseys and free sliders, not sure where the big guys are. [ Post made via Android ]
