Cold water... 50deg down 55. Only hook and bait I marked was in 180fow.

Headed up to the lake now... Will be fishing Friday through Sunday if the weather cooperates. Looks like there was a bit of an upwelling today, so if the waves arent bad i'll be headed offshore. I picked up a couple of new things to try at gander mountain, we'll see what happens!
Not much to see on the surface temps...

The father in law wants to go fishing this weekend, told him he needs a license... But the mother in law wants to come along for the ride... If she doesnt touch a rod does she need a license?

Wow sorry to hear that, too many accidents told on this site related to ladders. If you wouldn't mind sharing a bit more about how it happened and what we should all do to avoid it happening to us? My first guess was the old ... leaned too far to one side?
Either way, take the time off and get better and you'll be back at it again next year! Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery!

The autopilot doesn't really help me with getting back to my #s as I don't have a "turn around and go back" setting But it certainitly helps when going against the waves and a rod pops... it used to be that if I let go of the wheel the boat would get turned around and I'd have a tangled mess... so I'd need to fight the fish while steering the boat until I got it SLOWLY turned around... but yes the autopilot is well worth the $. And be careful throwing your phone down.. I'm always afraid I'm going to accidently throw it overboard haha.
man i have no idea how you manage live reports without the autopilot! I have a hard time doing my live reports WITH an autopilot! Even more fun is while you're typing a post into your phone you wonder "hmmm what's that sound?" and then you realize your rigger rod is peeling out line with a fish on
My guess would be food source... Perhaps more krill in the food chain.
Stan how do those salmon taste versus our Lake salmon?

Could have been all the lakegulls working the area or steelies and other fish hitting them while they were dead as well. I know most of our bites last weekend came while trolling the area with the dead bait, so I'm guessing everything must have been feeding off of them at least somewhat.
haha sorry my "yup" was more in regards to "yes it's a big weenie". I don't think they sell big weenie flies at Warrens, so I've never reallly seen them before.... one of the guys at the marina had a few BWs and gave me one. This is why I refer to most all of my flies and spoons as ... green, white, or clear
I have a few 10+ year old penns... Great reels but my clickers both developed issues shortly after purchase... This is a known issue with these reels. Still a great reel though.
