  1. Folks are trickling out as the water calms down, still 3-4s out there. No fish caught yet, best screen is in 125fow.
  2. It was nice to get away from the terrible fishing lately and we took a trip to Canada today! Echo One (Jack and Janet) joined us for the 2hr trek. We started out by crossing the Rainbow Bridge and luckily there was very little traffic. We spent some time looking at the falls and wondering what thoughts would go through your head when your boat engine died and you saw the falls comin up on ya... We then headed into the Fallsview Casino to rest my ankle a bit and blow some hard earned money on the slots. I of course had to stop at the candy shop on the way... In the casino, I really should have stopped after the first machine I played... the currency exchanger... I won $5! I found this penny machine and figured it was meant to be! Yeah, well, much like the fishing this week, my luck continued and I was broke in 20 mins. Jack was the only "winner", leaving with the same amount of money he put in. Then we were off to Niagara-on-the-Lake and the wine trail for some ice wine! We stopped at our favorite winery, Caroline Cellars, and tasted about 20 wines. We left with plum, blueberry, cranberry late harvest, riesling icewine, and my favorite cabernet sauvigon icewine. We did a bit of shopping at NOTL and headed to Corks for lunch. The schnitzel was awesome and the fish and chips were very good as well. We did a bit more shopping and enjoyed the landscaping and quaintness of the town, before heading back. On the way home, we swung by Wilson Harbor to show Jack and Janet the marina and to make a stop at Brownies for ice cream. It is the only place I have been able to find my favorite ice cream, Parkerhouse! I would have loved to of grabbed a potroast burger and seafood chowder at the Wilson Boathouse, but I was still stuffed. We hopped on the Lake Ontario Expressway and headed home. Let me tell you, someone needs to be dragged out back and beat the snot out of... that road is TERRIBLE!!!! There was a several mile stretch that was unreal in how aweful the grade was. We literally sounded funny when talking it was so rough! We also avoided our first deer of the season when three bucks ran in front of us... We are finally back home to Sodus and beat. We arrived to a nice package from Sk8man to put the cherry on top of a great day, thanks Les! I'd like to say the fishing reports will continue tomorrow, but the wind is howling right now and there is a small craft in effect from 11pm through tomorrow. Hopefully we can get out tomorrow night...
  3. Just a hair under 25lbs, hopefully someone weighs in something larger today to make me feel better!
  4. Excellent meal! Theresa got the petitte fillet with scallops and had some of the best cooked scallops I have ever tasted. My veal chop was good, but I would order something different next time. The portabella appetizer was very good as well! We are going to take a day or two off from the wonderful fishing, to recharge. Tomorrow we head to Canada for some icewine!
  5. Hard to believe we haven't tried this place yet after being in Sodus for 12 years! Finally going to try the Bay Street Hotel... hopefully. It's 730 and our reservation was 7pm... sitting at the bar waiting...
  6. I'm glad to hear I'm not suddenly doing something wrong, but sorry to hear so many people are having bad days!
