  1. If you know how to post a picture, just do it in this thread. If you don't know how, you can send me the picture via email. Oh and final decision on fish species will be determined by the smartest person I can find (not me). Nick
  2. Let's say September 16th. Also, fish doesn't need to be caught from a boat Nick
  3. man I wish I had a picture of the sheepie I caught 3yrs ago to show you ... to this day I haven't seen one as big... I almost wonder if I should have mounted it Nick

  5. ok, here is an image that can be printed out on an 8.5x11 piece of paper and included in any fish picture taken.... If someone has a webpage that they can link the powerpoint file to, I can send it to them. Or it is available upon request at [email protected] Nick
  6. Chin, I think I see what the problem may have been... the word proceeds I put my $25 in for the LOC summer tourny and personally wouldn't want to spend another penny on a tournament I'm just cheap like that. So maybe if we make this free, there will be more interest. Besides, if I can get Yankee to join.... it will be nice to whip a Proam winner Only problem with joining it to the LOC board is, many of us never get onto that list. Nick
  7. Anyone interested in starting up an online fishing tournament? I saw it on another fishing forum... Basically, if you catch a big fish, take a picture of it and a length measurement. In the picture needs to be a "sign". The sign is just a printout saying "LOU 2007 Tournament" so that you know the pic is from this year. It's mostly on an honor system and I don't have any great prizes to offer, but maybe we could get a shirt or something for the winner saying "lakeontariounited.com 2007 Salmon Champ" and "lakeontariounited.com 2007 Steelhead Champ" etc. Any interest? I'll do my best to update this top post with current leaders. Current Leaders: (These are obviously just placeholders until the first entries come in) CHINOOK Bobs_Boy - 35 1/2" COHO EMPTY STEELHEAD EMPTY BROWN TROUT Bobs_Boy - 25 1/2" SHEEPSHEAD Fishshack - 24" Nick
  8. oooh I might have to reconsider then! Fishshack are you up for it!!?? Nick
  9. It was good to have you guys! You picked a good day, the action was really slow for the next couple of days. The niagara river was absolutely stuffed with steelies, didn't get a chance to fish for any though (forgot the tackle box the one day we went). Nick
  10. One of these years we're going to be able to get to sign up for it, but with work/class it always seems impossible to get up there on Thursday! Either way, we'll be out "pretending" we're registered to see how we do against the rest of the amateurs Nick
  11. we didn't bother going out due to the weather, hope you had some luck! Nick
  12. Barnacle good luck, we'll be fishing by wilson, our radio may reach you if you want to give us a try. The kings have been deep 100'+ on the riggers, 300' on the dipseys. Keey something high for cohos and steelies. Nick
  13. Finished the morning 6 for 7 today... the one lost being a railroad tie that hit a dipsey 250back with a green board green fly... those atomiks really do catch everything  But it spit the hook 100' from the boat Hit a 17lb king first thing when we setup in 100fow. It came on the same as the railroad tie above. Worked the shallow water with no further luck... moved out to 180fow. That's where we found the 3 steelies and two shaker kings. The steelies were all up in the 30fow range. The shaker kings came on both riggers and were DOA as I didn't realize they were even on the rigger (poor suckers, towards the end of the trip I was bouncing them off the bottom for lakers ) The water warmed up nice, still very few fish marked... I think they're on their way to Mexico :?: Anyone out tomorrow feel free to give me a call on ch68. I'm hoping the weather holds up, or it will be an early day for us... not worth getting bounced around the way the fishing has been. Nick
  14. YT you're a life saver! I didn't think the internet worked at all over here since it was so weak by the lighthouse... turns out it's much stronger by our boats, thanks a ton! Also, some older guy was here looking for crazy yankee sportfishing today... I'm guessing that's you? I told him where your boat was but that I didn't think you were here. Didn't see him again after that (and your boat is still floating) so not sure what he wanted Nick
  15. We're taking our system enginnering masters from George Washington University. It's not an online school (i wish!), but the professor was "nice" enough not to make us miss our vacation, so instead he told us we had to take it while we were on vacation... find an internet cafe or something. The wifi here at the marina SUCKS... we're sitting in the middle of the parking lot right now trying to fight the sun glare... should be a fun 3 hrs! Nick
  16. Rich, the winds did shift finally... we were out late last night and figured we'd sleep in today since we have to take a final exam via internet this afternoon. I had the radio on though, and didn't hear of any kings taken. Granted the radio probably doesn't reach all the way to the bar, but everyone I did hear was either skunked or a steelie or two. I'm hoping this new front moves the fish in. Al, Yeah we tried for lakers yesterday without much luck. We had that one two days ago, it was probably 10lbs, never popped the down rigger, felt like I was reeling in a shoe Theresa caught a 3lb coho though that fought like hell! Eric, Saturday will be our last fishing day, so we'll see you then! Bring some luck with you! Nick
  17. Fished from 6-11am this morning ... water got rough so we got off. We hit one 10lb king in 230fow 200' out on a dipsey #2 setting. It was about 3 miles east of the bar. A few hooks at the bar today, only one or two follows. Saw lots of baits and hooks on the bottom at about 150', couldn't get them to go. Maybe tomorrow. Nick
  18. I'm not sure the bite 2 weeks off vs. not gonna happen this year. I have a feeling, the kings are going to skip their usual stop at niagara. Nick
  19. Fished just east of the bar this morning from 6am to 1pm. Went 3 for 3. Two cohos and one laker early. Most hooks were between 70fow and 150fow. Traveled out to 310fow and found surface temps +2 degrees from anywhere in by the can. Then came across a TON of bait and thought I finally found where the fish were. Went through a few MILES of bait... not a single hook with it. Only pulled one coho from it. A lot of people fishing, few people catching. Nick
  20. Skein, Where the heck where you fishing? Certainitly wasn't anywhere near me! Great catch! We finished today 3 for 3 with two cohos and a laker... saw very few nets moving and a TON of people complaining on the radio of no fish. Hopefully, tomorrow's warm water will heat things up a bit! Nick
  21. Ditto stay home! The only thing we're catching out here are engine problems! Nick
  22. Nice job guys! We made the long drive up to the bar tonight, sounds like the fishing hasn't really picked up yet. If it does and you guys want to head out, just let us know. It's just Theresa and I all week, so there's always room for you two. Nick
  23. Nice king! We'll be out there tomorrow, probably on ch 68 unless Rich D is hanging on a different channel (we can only monitor one channel at a time, no scan... maybe sometime this season I'll upgrade) Nick
  24. Just as an update.... I ordered the bracket from EZSteer. The people were very nice and for $50 or so I got the new bracket with the stainless hose clamps. It should be here in 7 days or so. Nick
