Rick, what kind of divers are you using? Your lengths always seems much shorter than what I run, so I'm wondering if maybe you are using Chinooks or Mags?
-
Keep on going! With all of the bad inside reports, there has to be a pile of fish out deep somewhere.

Thank you, I will let you know!Nick, I think I might have a Simrad AT10 laying around. That is a NMEA 2000 to 0183 converter. If the sea talk doesn't work out let me know.

There is definitely an update... I am praying that fixes it. I won't be able to try it until Friday though.Did you look to see if there is a software update for it? I don't know anything about your unit but I know when I installed my HDS unit nothing would work correctly till I did the most recent software update

There's no way old spoons work, you need to buy new ones as the fish adapt each year. And to think 30 years ago a radio direction finder was the high tech gadget. Loran C and VHF were soon to follow. Next thing you know graphs were paperless...... How many here remember and miss the smell of a paper graph. Good news is I still run a lot of the spoons from those days and they still produce.
(C'mon man, my wife reads these threads. You're going to get me in trouble! )

Best of luck! I will be curious to hear if it works before updating the firmware on the GO7 vs after.Nick I'll be installing a Go7 this week will let u know how my wireless experience goes. Also - there are VHF's that have Gps and NMEA 0183 too
-
Well the good news is it looks like the autopilot has a seatalk ng connection, which is compatible with NMEA2000. I will just need to buy an adaptor.

No worries, your moral support may have been the only thing keeping me from "pulling the plug" on this project...Wifi....Broadband......Bandwith.....Network......Wireless.???????
Sorry I wasn't more help, except for moral support, but I just mastered the downrigger a few weeks ago.....
I was glad to see the finished product....SWEET !!!!!!!!!

Nah we tried 4 different phones and two tablets... all the same issue.Sounds like an issue with the tablet. Does the tablet work ok with all of its apps and stuff? On that tablet, you can do a hard reset by turning it off. Then hold down the volume up button while pressing the power on button. It should reset all the properties. Maybe that will get it to run the screen mirroring function of wifi..Frustrating electronic stuff!..

Now Im running into yet another problem... my autopilot communicates via NMEA 0183. The GO7 communicates via NMEA 2000.
I should have just bought a new boat...

Yes the black screen is on the tablet. It is "working" because the power button on the tablet controls the power button on the GO7. It is just like the main feed from the GO7 isnt coming through. The blank screen is on the tablet, Nick? Is the screen even lit up with blue or black?

Thanks everyone, we finally found it. It was buried in a setting, that caused a pop up box, you then had to click that pop up box to get more info. The designer should be shot.
So that let us connect, BUT...
It shows the connection, we click on it, the GO7 asks if we want to allow control, we say yes, then blank screen...
Wtf. All we have is a power button up top that when pressed on the tablet, does act like the power button on the GO7... but nothing else.
There is a new software version out for the GO7 that I need a micro SD to download, so I will have to bring one up next weekend. Hopefully, that will take care of the black screen, but I'm not sure.

If I understand the directions, the GO7 is the wifi network. The tablet connects to the GO7 network. I searched everywhere in the box trying to find a PW, but no luck.I have not used any of this equipment but can it be that you need to create a WiFi network on the tablet and then connect the Simrad to the SD ID using the password you created for the network?

Ok boat is back in the water, ton of cursing, sweating uncontrollably and a few changes of direction and almost done... pics tomorrow.
Only problem is, the GO7 was supposed to come with a password for connecting the tablet, but I cant find it anywhere in the box...
