Thank you again BW for custom making & donating those 72 fly's, & thanks to everyone who helped her sell out! She had a blast and told me she already has a new fly design in mind for next year The Lily fly is gonna be awesome this season, so please let us know how it works for you so I can pass it on to Lily. Thanks also to everyone who helped make this by far our best LOTSA show to date...we had a great time !! It was a lot of fun seeing so many familiar faces and talking with so many good people
-
Yeah...go with the electric. If you are going to be at LOTSA, Darren Ford from Walker Downriggers is going to be there. He is the man to speak with....nice guy
-
Hey Jerry...that's awesome! Stop by the Jon's Little Salmon booth, I'd like to say hi ! Same goes for all "lou'ers"....It would be great to meet some of the folks on here that I have not yet met. That's my second favorite part of the lotsa expo....behind getting lots of new tackle

Happy Birthday Glen!

They do that a lot down in the keys...probably other areas all over as well. Seems popular with saltwater fisheries. We've been down island plenty, but my fish are always too small
-
lmao...you know, I have tried to get a couple for myself, but she has them hidden and she keeps counting them cause she knows her dad collects fishing tackle She says I gotta buy cookies too, no family discounts! We're gonna have a great time, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

BTW...I will try to post some of the specials we will have at the Jon"s Little Salmon tabes on Saturday evening. I won't know till I get up there what special deals we'll be offering. I know we'll have the best overall selection of Big Weenie Brand Flies we have ever had at LOTSA, including some new ones that are going to be killer! I know we have some Spooks, which may have been one of last years hottest BW patterns on Lake Ontario once it was released mid season. We'll also have the new Mountian Dew Spook. Most of the patterns will be in limited supply so the popular patterns will probably go early. This year we will also have a good stock of meat rigs !! Meat is back, so we'll have meat rigs, 11" flashers & custom Big Weenie Kingfishers (the fish shaped flasher). We'll also be pulling different stuff from Jon's store....I know he has a load of Northport Nailes he want's to clear out to make room for new stock. He also has a bunch of the Jitter Fly's, which are no longer available since they went out of business. We'll probably have a good deal on them to clear them out. And of course...the FREE limited edition Big Weenie Lily fly with purchase of a box of GirlScout cookies. We agreed this fly will only be available once a year at the LOTSA show...through Lily When they are gone...they are gone....till next year. I'll post a better list Saturday night . See you all at the Expo

I really dig that fly Gary With regards to the Lily fly, I'm not sure what you are implying.... Actually, I'm working on getting that extra case of 12....she should have 72 Anything special? Right now we have thin mints, peanut butter, caramel delights and shortbread.
-
Cookies....oh yeah .... I'm guessing Jon will be downing a few boxes on the drive out...I better stock the fridge with milk! The coffee will be brewing and the Bloody Mary's will mixed.....good times
-
Wouldn't that be funny Tom Sorry Jason...yer a little out of the way bud. The train leaves from Jon's

Hey all, If anyone from the east end wants a ride to the LOTSA show Sunday, let me know. We are taking the Motorhome out, so we'll have room for a few people. Right now, it's just me and Jon (from Jon's Little Salmon Shop) and my two kids. We are leaving Jon's Little Salmon Bait & Tackle in Mexico @ 3:30 am Sunday morning and we should return by 6 pm or so. See everyone at LOTSA

Nice Idea -
What was I thinking when I let her call you Gary...now she's got all the flies in her room and I'm not allowed to have one unless I buy a box of her Girl Scout Cookies, even though I've already bought like 10 boxes She's really looking forward to this guys..$3.50 for a box of cookies AND a hot fly....what a deal Limited supply, so make it your first stop.... it will be even more limited if I find where she's hiding them I have seen some of the New 2012 Big Weenie fly's....HOT STUFF!! We'll be at the same spot as the past few years. Stop by early for the best selection. Jon from Jon's Little Salmon Bait & Tackle is running it this year so we'll have an expanded selection of fishing tackle with some great deals!

Yeah Tim, what's a little 7 hour drive each way? The Wife is leaving that day to go to San Francisco....so I am bringing the kids with me and we're making a weekend out of it. Gary is helping make it extra fun for them. Looking forward to seeing ya there No Jeffery...Lily was looking forward to joining me even before this...but now she's SUPER excited!! Justin....not so much...lol Lily got her flies today and went right to work bagging them... She bagged 36 flies for you guys tonight....36 more to go

LOTSA is almost here, and this year Big Weenie Brand has done something really great for us!! My daughter Lily will be joining me at the Jon's Little Salmon / Big Weenie Booth. She asked me a few days ago if she could take her girl scout cookies to sell at our booth...how can a dad say no? So I pitched the idea to Big Weenie, and they were gracious enough to custom make 72 limited edition fly's we will call the Lily fly....in her favorite color purple, of course The Deal is, you buy a box of cookies from Lily at The Jon's Little Salmon booth and you will receive this limited edition Lily fly FREE !! Thanks to BW, We have 72....when they are gone, they are gone and you can only get this fly through Lily ! Here it is...the Big Weenie Lily Fly, free with you box of Girl Scout Cookies at Jon's Little Salmon booth at LOTSA Thanks again to Big Weenie Brand for custom making and donating these fly's to a good cause This is going to be a smoking fly for the lucky few that have it

My vote for longest lasting paint might have to go to Moonshine.

I don't know how to do it other than how Brian said? I go to the football field at the school next door to my house. I figure I pay taxes...so I use the markings on the football field as my guide and cut my lengths that way. IMO, Line counters won't be accurate with copper.

Gemini is who I used for the Team Oh Baby & Team Lucky Enuff shirts last season. Ours were not full button, but I know they have different styles. They were pretty good to work with and the quality is tops! I've had several guys ask how & where we did the shirts...so since the subject of shirts came up here is the Skinny on how to get it done. For us...I had to supply most of our sponsor logos, but they have all the main stream stuff on file. You will need to supply your artwork in vector format....which once I finally figured out WTF vector format even was, is real easy to do at this site: http://vectormagic.com/home Gemini is here: http://g2gemini.com/ You work it out all on line, and they will send you a proof to approve. it's actually a pretty cool process. Once you get your artwork together and have it converted to vector format at the site above, pick a shirt design, colors, etc and fill out their form. You have to pay at that time by cc, but they won't bill the card until the order ships (at least they didn't for me) They will send you a proof within about a week or so and the vision you had in your head finally starts to take the form of a shirt....here is half of the proof the sent me... I had to make a change on the front...so they fixed that and once I gave them the OK they made the shirts. The whole process took about 7 weeks I think and 8 shirts ran us almost $800....but the quality is really up there. Leave enough time....you can't rush them....I tried Here is the finished shirt... Hope this helps a little for any guys looking to do tourney type shirts this season....I know had I had this info going into it it woulda been a bit easier

I feel the same as Tom, they all have their unique flavor. I would guess most are going to choose derbies, because that is where I think most have had experiences. For me, derbies are fun, but they lack the group camaraderie that the others have. Derbies also lack the head to head competition. What I do really like about derbies though is they are low key, low pressure, and family oriented. Far as the other styles....love them all. I probably prefer two days....just because It's like two tournaments in one. Putting two quality days together is brutally tough!

spring fishing-what do you wear on your feet?
Fishtails replied to times two's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Funny you mention the PFG guide shoes from Columbia. I have a pair and can't stand them! The drain holes in the bottom bother the heck out of my foot. Now Crocs....I gotta admit I love them. I wear them in my wood shop every day! Great boat shoe too! -
Happy birthday bud !!

2012 Pro-Am Changes? Rumor?
Fishtails replied to SCREAMER 1's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
Looking forward to hearing more once things are finalized. Changes are not always a bad thing. Keep us posted. -
Well, let us know how it pans out. You said in your first post the 14th....then on your second you say the 26th? The Bonanza was to be the 28th. I agree that it should be way more clear if/when there are periods they suspend payouts based on entrants.
-
The boat & crew I fished with last season won it 5 times, and got paid each time without a problem. I don't know the context of your situation and the PEDD. I think they suspended payouts for a time in order to do what they were calling a year end bonanza...which didn't appeal to me (or anyone else I think) and it got called for weather. The word was their were almost no entrants though. I am almost certain your date falls into that slot. The only thing I saw on the site was that PEDD black out ended Aug. 16. Since the season is over, Bob may not even be checking his mail. Maybe he's living the good life watching chicks run around in bikinis sipping a cocktail on a beach somewhere....who knows? We should be fair...you may not be due a check and not answering mail in the winter in not all that unusual.
