  1. That's why ya got the big Trojan Rick? More room to secretly store all your Cowbells ? See ya in a few days in Port Dalhousie
  2. As does New Jersey....hopefully NY follows and passes it this year. It sounds encouraging
  3. Lookin good....won't be long
  4. Love that analogy Vince
  5. I enjoy it...and don't take most of it as being serious, which has gotten me in some hot water days past, but then I don't take myself seriously most of the time I remember , but hey, now that you improved the rules for 2011 everyone can fish it and The Big Weenies will be one of those teams, so it could still happen Is it time to leave for St Catherines soon? I feel like I'm living Bill Murray's life in the movie Groundhog day. Every day seems the same...when is it gonna get here?
  6. Gotta chuckle over all the political shenanigans involed with some of these tournaments and the subsequent conversations that ensue...don't you? The banter makes for such great reading I would be interested, but I feel I would not be eligable no matter how it's formatted because I am not fishing on the same team in all three events, even though I am fishing all three, so I'm out. Interesting idea though
  7. I have no experience with them personally, so I passed this post on to Walker and maybe they will respond and give you some advice
  8. I was curious if the kotl scales will be used as official loc scales, so that we teams fishing the Big Jon tourney can weigh their loc fish. We won't be able to take them to a weigh station in the US. Also, it's now no communication. Does this mean we also can't use our phone device to take pictures? Dumb question probably, but that's all a lot of us use anymore so I thought it should be brought up. Thanks! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  9. Good man, gonna get some use out of it this season I hope. Just need the new seats and she's ready for the water See ya in Wilson in a month Howie.
  10. LOC starts Friday the 29th Shade. I believe you are right with the first Sat. of May being the pike opener, so they would overlap for a couple days.
  11. Awesome!! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  12. Hey Mike...been awhile! Almost time for the shad run dude! I am getting the little boat ready and I'll be on the river this month. Give me a call and I'll join ya one day. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  13. Huh, they have fishing shows on TV ? All my TV seems to play is SpongeBob. Damn it, next time my kids tell me the sponge man is on every station, I'm gonna check for myself. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. IMO, if you want to be able to trust the readings, set it up the way it is intended....coated cable.
  15. Thanks Paul...that's what I was after. You'll be seeing me toot around in my little girly boat at the oak this year Paul Be nice or I'll saw ya off once or twice and then moon your clients. The little boat big boat rule is only in effect when you can catch the little boat Looking forward to seeing you at St. Catherines bud...won't be long!! Hope you finish second again Good Times!!
  16. For those who don't know, Brutus, the famous weeniedog passed away last week at the young age of 18. Brutus is the weeiedog pictured on the Big Weenie logo, and he was Gary & Karen's special little boy. They truly loved that little guy and these have been some very sad days at the BW home. I've never known two people more devoted to their dogs....Brutus was a huge part of their family and he'll be sorely missed. I was late finding out myself, as I have been busy & out of the loop lately, but I wanted to share this with you all.
  17. Thanks for all the good rigging suggestions guys. I'm pulling it in the garage this weekend Exactly MCF. I fish lake Ontario all the time, probably upwards of 60 plus days a season, which is pretty much for a PA boy. My 24 does great and I know what this 16 can handle, just not sure how many of those days we get a year on the west end of the lake from Pt. Breeze to the bar. That was my question. I'm only there May & early June. I'm not suicidal...It's a fast boat and I can get her in port quick if the weather turns. I'm just trying to figure out the best area to park it for the summer so I can get some use out of it, since I am usually up on Ontario anyway. Sounds like I can just park it at Jeff's house
  18. I pray all turns out well Lew...keep us posted.
  19. That boat you had was a much better setup than I have to work with Bob. I have a full enclosure, but standing up ain't happening so it's kinda useless except for joy riding. Would you suggest the risers for the riggers? BTW...In the pic I posted, ya notice it's kinda high in the front? Look at the bow...it's stuck on the dock cause some dumbazz (me ) forgot to take the tide into account when I tied it up and tied it to tight
  20. Really Chad...I thought it was only windy at that end on tournament days I only get out west early in the season, just seems like I remember a lot more calm days on that end than we get in the east part of the lake....selective memory maybe? Thanks for the ideas guys It's like a dingy for your new boat Howie. Any more thoughts? I'll find a good use for this boat yet! It's taken me 4 years to get the wifey to allow me to semi rig it for fishing, so I gotta do it before she has a chance to change her mind. I made the mistake of telling her It was "her" boat when I bought it I'm gonna put tracks on it and two electric riggers. I have a Humminbird 385ci combo and even that doesn't fit on the damn dash, so I have it mounted off to the side of the dash. I will put down temp on, just don't know where the head is gonna go? Definitly a two man rig...unless I get me a girlfriend Which is fine, I have my other boat plus my buddies boats when I wanna get serious.
  21. I'm looking for a little help from you guys. I have a small 16 ft Starcraft with a Merc. 60hp Bigfoot four stroke. I almost never use this boat cause it's not a fishing boat, so i'm thinking about making some alterations. I figure I will rig it and use it on the finger lakes, but I'm thinking I might be able to use it at the bar as well on calm days. I will have the SeaRay on the east end, so I was thinking about leaving this one on the west end so I'd have a boat on each end of the lake. For referance purposes, here's what I'm working with: It's a pretty small 16 footer. I've been in 16's that felt a whole lot bigger than this boat does. Then again, I've had it 5 miles offshore on the ocean already. Do ya think there are enough of those 2ft or less days on the west end of the lake to make it worth rigging it and leaving it out there? It just sits in my driveway..what do I have to loose? My other question would be rigging ideas. I'm pulling the seats out and putting pedistal seats in it. That will free up a little space in the back, but I have NO storage space in this thing. Any suggestions ? Thanks!
  22. It's not the Walkers that don't do well with coated cable, it's the cable itself that gets beat up over time. Walkers have a SS eye below the pulley to keep the wire centered, but it wears the coating on the cable. If you fish a lot, the coated cable will need to be replaced/repaired once in awhile.
  23. I agree with Matt, I have switched over to High Seas for all my line & leaders. I use the 50 lb fluoro to tie all my fly rigs...every bit as good as Seagar (IMO), and cheaper too Knot strength is excellent. I use High Seas 12 lb fluoro for browns and 20 or 25 for kings. http://www.hiseas.net/Leader_lnd_FL.asp You're cracking me up Paul! So true though
  24. I missed this last year cause it was over the Scotty weekend (if I recall correctly), but If it's mid April I am in if there's room for me
  25. Wow....I didn't even know I had that channel till just now. Thanks for the heads up!! I have it set to record
