  1. Custom flashabou fly Big Weenie tied up for me last fall. It's one of those flies you're either gonna love or hate. I think it's gonna be smokin hot! We know Stripers, bluefish and lake trout like it. but the salmon have not seen it yet.
  2. Thinning out the herd....included are 2 Twinkie rigs, 3 Familiar Bite bait heads, 4 Challenger bait heads, 1 pro troll E-chip bait holder and three bait holders I am not familiar with. All new...good starter pack!! First $20 plus $2 to ship takes it all ....OBO Email me direct at [email protected]
  3. I use #16 rubber bands.....to say rubber bands are a pollution concern is a big streach, but then some folks live to argue so what are ya gonna do? I just bought a couple pounds of them and I hope I use them all this season I totally agree with you rolmops....they stay attached to the line almost every time! They end up in the boat trash can, not in the lake.
  4. You don't need em Kdawg...just a few dozen good ones My problem is if I want a fly, I get a 4 pack cause I get them un-rigged, so it's either 1 or 4, right? I hate only having one of something so 75 flies turned into 300 real fast With this economy I kinda wish I had some of that money back in my pocket instead of flies in a binder I have a similar problem with flashers and spoons
  5. Hey Larry....just noticed you're from Allentown! It's nice to know there are fellow lake O entusiasts in the area. I'm 20 min. south of A-town
  6. Here's how I am now storing my un-rigged flies. Thought I'd share...sorry for the crappy pic quality. My phone takes lousy pics with the lighting in my kitchen. I am using standard empty binders you can purchase at Staples, etc for a couple bucks. I fill the binders with 4X6 transparent photo pages (also from staples) I put my flies in 3x5 ziplock bags...they are cheap! http://www.bagguy.com/index.php?main_pa ... 8cdb15c3f4 I use different binders for different fly brands and label them so I know what they are. Big Weenie flies are easy cause they already come in a 3x5 labeled bag. So do strong flys, but for Howie, Siggs and A-tom-mic ya gotta bag & label. Throw a rubber band around it for storage. I find this has really saved me space and makes finding a fly and keeping inventory a snap!
  7. And having fished with Bob, I can guess they are all in like new condition
  8. ...and temp alarms too
  9. That's great news bud! But really Rollie, you got away cheap with 4 bills......wanna trade maitenance costs...lol! Re-powering the port side means I won't have splash down till late April, so keep rubbing it in on how many fish you guys are catching
  10. Hey Jason....way to go bud! Have you tried the Big Weenie Pull my finger fly yet? It's a blue mirage....I just sent one to Jeff for a Steelhead tournie on lake Erie. Keep it up dude !!
  11. Happy Birthday Bud....have a great day! See ya in Wilson
  12. Wisconsin did a study similar to what you are referring to. It's very infomative. http://dnr.wi.gov/fish/fishingtournamen ... inions.pdf
  13. Well said Chad. A&M While I don't typically participate in these discussions that you have been obviously offended by, I would think the first amendment would somehow come into play here. Remember that one...1st Amendment: Freedom of religion. Freedom of speech. Freedom to assemble. Freedom to petition the government. Freedom to call Barack Obama a bungholio (OK...I added that one ) And answer us this, how does your attack on the LOU community make you any different ? I may not agree with everything I read, but I respect the passion that many here on LOU possess toward our fishery and I have learned much through these readings about doings that I was unaware of (being an out of stater and all). Yes, I think sometimes issues get blown out of proportion and I don't think Great Lakes Armageddon is at our doorstep just yet, but the time to band together and be heard is now.... before it's to late !! It's almost spring, and soon we can all relax and go fishing Remember Amendment #2 ; Right to bear arms & fishing poles
  14. I'm so confused !!!! Spoonfed-1 , Spoonfed-111, both Glen ?????
  15. Of course you don't mind Rollie.....just messing with you. I know you are doing really well with the R&R's on the fingers, so I'm looking forward to running them on Lake O in the spring for Browns.
  16. Wonderboy, If you never fish around fleas, it might be OK. I didn't have it on long enough to really test it. If there are ANY fleas in the lake you fish though...I'd pass on it and save yourself the hassle.
  17. Nice job guys!! Jason....I gotta get up there ! I called Rollie but his boat won't be ready for at least a week. I sent your flies out today, you should have them in a couple days. BTW...Rollie is gonna be pissed if you keep showing his secret spoon....lmao!! Glad to see the R&R's are kicking it
  18. Do yourself a big favor.....send it back!!!! I tried it on one rigger last summer. It lasted less than an hour. No hits on that rigger so I pulled it up and I swear I have never seen so many fleas I'm pretty sure they coat that crap with flea glue. I stripped it off after one troll and threw it in the garbage can! I'm not smart like you, and I failed to ask questions before testing it. It was kinda like buying a new dipsey, flasher and fly and then throwing it in the water without hooking it to my line......bye bye hard earned money To make matters worse, you've got manuals. Now we don't know each other, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you ain't gonna like cranking up that 10 or 12 lb rigger ball from 100 ft down to find you have 49lbs of fleas attached to it this summer
  19. Pete, that glow green flashabou fly you have pictured was just bad azz last year. Not sure why more guys don't run the flashabou in their spread on lake O ? I know It's huge in Michigan and catches the fish here on lake O just as well . They like less material in their flys over their too. Glow green flashabou is one of the first flys we put down in the morning
