Nice Bill! I have yet to catch a shark that size, must be fun! Those Jacks are fun on light tackle. Looks like a nice trip, thanks for sharing

Quick update...I found the problem. The boat owner (that being me ) Is an idiot....that's the problem. It seems that while doing other routine maintanence, I pinched the fuel line under the floorboard when I put it back on....causing the restriction. I'm so stupid sometimes.... Well, at least there was nothing wrong and the boat gets some new parts Thanks for the help.

Matt, I only get out a couple times in the early fall (If I'm lucky) before I put the boat to sleep. Stripers are not nearly as big in Jersey in the fall as they are in the spring....so I don't really get a shot at the real big 30 - 40 lb pigs. Like you, I'm thinking Salmon in the spring time and given the choice that's what I'd fish for. I'm hoping for a 30 lb'er one of these days but that is not an easy fish to come by in Oct. Low 20's is a good fish right now yet. I'm heading out on Friday with deiselhp and maybe a couple days next week and then that's about it....so maybe

Happy birthday guys!!!

Maybe Jeff...I think you should bring it along next week Ray....we had worms and eels, ended up throwing them out. We never bothered with them. We seem to catch bigger fish trolling. I am trying to get out a couple more times if the darn weather gives us a break. Hope to do a couple day trip next week??? Clams are good now but you'll feed the lil fish too

Way to get Pat on a hog Stan....good job!! Did you ever try the grease traps for Lakers? They sure work here. I ran a couple off the riggers this past week for stripers but didn't have enough time to get them dialed in, as mother nature made it a short trip. We did take one monster hit on a grease trap pulling a custom vibrator fly BW made me but after about 15 sec. it tore off the hook. It was a BIG fish, me thinks

Don't you know it Rick....maybe you should ask Final Flight about that .I almost chit when he got the umbrella rig hung up in the net and couldn't get the fish. Rollie ended up gilling it though and did a heck of a good job getting it in the boat. Netting a fish that size on an umbrella rig would be tough!! I think if we ever get another one that big we're gonna leave the net in the holder and grab it by the gill plate and hope for the best....lol

Thanks guys! The bulbs have been there since I got the boat so I just never gave it a thought till now. I will get rid of them and I ordered new ethanol resistant fuel lines. I do have fuel shut off valves on both motors Bill. I'll be sure to check the pick up while I'm at it to and clean or replace as needed.

Hopefully to be outdone on our next trip This was the first striper trip of the season and it was short lived thanks to mother nature. Hope to get out at least one more time! Caught in the ocean off Sandy Hook NJ. 40" & 26+ lbs.... caught trolling a 9"er umbrella rig 180 out on the wire rod.

Hey guys....I have a question for you. I had the boat out yesterday and I'm having a fuel delivery issue on the starboard engine. It runs fine and then just runs out of fuel and shuts down. Then it will fire back up after sitting for 5 minutes and run for a while and do it again. If I troll on it it's fine all day long. If I pump the primer ball a few times it starts right back up so we know for a fact it's fuel delivery. While it's running it runs perfectly fine so I am pretty sure it's not a carb. problem. Anyhow, the boat has Chevy 250 6 cyl engines and they are so simple I'm just gonna replace everything on that motor's fuel system and be done with it. Both engines have primer balls....should I keep them or eliminate them? Someone just told me I don't need primer balls on an I/O and that does make sense to me. What do you think? Thanks!!

That was a very well put together show. It really gives a great viewpoint into what these events are like! It was kind of a sick joke putting it out this time of year though I'm totally amped up now....luckily our boat is in a Striped bass tourney next week ...it ain't the same but it will do!! This show should really help promotion....very well done

Hey guys, just thought I'd share my recent expierence with Raymarine. Their service department did good by me and I have to give them a big thumbs up We had installed a new Raymarine st6002 auto pilot on the boat this past spring we bought through Kevin Jerge @ The Wilson Boatyard. It's a great unit and It performed well for two months, but started acting up during the Sodus Pro Am. During the Oswego Scotty, it would not work at all. I'll admit, I was frustrated that it stopped working, but I called Raymarine and they told me to send in the course computer. They checked it out, confirmed the problem, replaced the part and I had it back in a week I just installed it back in the boat and it works as it should again! Yes...it broke and that's too bad, but they fixed it free of charge without a question......lightning fast!!

Great report Chad...thanks for sharing! A couple of us "LOU'ers" will be getting after the Stripers in the next couple weeks off the northern Jersey shore. It ain't salmon fishing, but it's fun none the less (sure beats catching lakers). Like you said...they are real good table fare -
Seasquirrel , How ya like the Searay so far? I'm very pleased with mine....they handle big water as good as anything out there. If you're not already a member, you may want to sign up to this online club: www.clubsearay.com

I stayed at this place a couple years ago in Islamorada. I can highly recomend it! We stayed in the private oceanfront cottage and the price was right (even during peak season). http://www.pinesandpalms.com/rates%20an ... ations.htm For camping, my kids favorite so far has been Fiesta Key RV resort, but it was expensive for an RV park. It's under new ownership now, so maybe that has changed? http://www.fiestakeyrvresort.com/Location.html This winter we have 14 days booked at John Pennekamp Coral Reef SP. The parks are cheap and nice, but nearly impossible to get reservations at in the winter. We got lucky. PM me if I can help any further. We've gone the past 5 years now and stay somewhere new each year.
