My Bad....thanks for pointing that out Hank

That's a nice size Crevalle Jack! Can't wait to see that turquoise blue water again. I'll check out that marina, maybe that will be the ticket and I can probably ride my bike there. I know that bridge your at In the pic and I'll definitely be spending plenty of time there. It's close and you never know what you'll catch under the bridges....the kids go bonkers!! If you have those coordinates that would be great! I'm taking a different plotter this year and I got nothin! I'm leaving In 11 days so anytime this month would be terrific! Thanks!

This bottom paint should do the trick Larry. Iv'e had It on my boat the past two seasons and not one thing has attached Itself to my boat. In fact, I'm starting to get a complex about It. http://www.ship2shoremarine.com/Copper- ... p_1-3.html

It will be there Ray, you can count on me! Btw Rick, Gulp doesn't work, so I'm only taking 2 buckets plus 10 packets

We are staying at Long Key State park. I know February can be tricky, especially with the wind. I've fished sprigger bank, the snapper fishing there gets stupid doesn't It? Last year we stayed on Fiesta key, which Is almost next door to Long Key state park. We'll be pulling a 16ft boat down with the RV so I'll probably only fish inshore and over by sprigger In the Gulf. I'll hit the flats every day as well. I'm not picky....It's all good I like to go out for lobster too...that's fun, have you tried that yet? I'm not sure what to do with the boat though. The site Is oceanfront and I hear everyone pulls their boat up by the beach in front of their site? Guess I'll see when I get there?

WTG Stan !! Nice catch dude

Way to go....looks like you guys slammed the Mahi I bet that was a great time! Did you catch many BF, I see one but I know there Is a one BF per boat limit right now. That's some great table fare!! I'll be In Key Largo In a few weeks. I'm there for three days after five days on Long Key. It will be my first time on the water In Key Largo so I'm looking forward to It. Did you go beyond the reef to troll? I doubt I'll get out to troll with my smaller boat but I'm hoping to reef fish.

I agree with Skipper that there are many variables that go into making that decision. I can only speak for myself but I rarely run more than one. If I want to get a lot of rods In the water, than two may be a choice and If I'm targeting steelhead or browns up high In the water column I may consider running two. Last year...I never ran more than one but this year....who knows? If I'm fishing a tournament I'm only running one board because I like to be able to clear rods and retrieve equipment fast and run to a new area If I need to. I can only run 6 rods In the Am division anyway. It also makes turning the boat a lot easier If you want to swing back and hit a waypoint (or scoop up a floater someone lost at the net ) For us, the Scotty may be a different story and I may throw two out for that one? Pro teams and charters need numbers and probably run two all the time? Also. With two boards In the water the inside board will go slack on a fast turn and that can sometimes cause problems so you have to watch that.

Fishstalker....that boat looks gorgeous! Like many, I've owned both and I currently have 2 boats (alum & glass). I had an 18 ft. Lund fisherman and loved It but I found there to be to many blow off days on lake O. I take kids as often as I can also, and we got caught out In surprise 5 + fters one day and though the Lund handled It, my son got a little freaked so that was It for me! To make It more enjoyable for the kids I got a bigger glass boat and sold the Lund. Then I picked up a smaller 16 ft Alum. dual console for smaller lakes, rivers and travel. I doubt I'd ever go alum. again on the big lake, but I certainly understand why many do. Aluminum boats have a big up side! In the summer I predominately fish lake O so If I ever have to downsize to one boat again, I'd probably go with a smaller fiberglass. My 24ft'r weights between 3-4 tons but I can still tow It. It's just not as easy, but I have far fewer blow off days and It's so much more comfortable fishing In 3-4 footers!! I think my kids have an overall better experience In the larger glass boat so that makes It a no brainier for me, even If It's a bit more work for me. One thing I should add though, Is that I fish the east end of the lake A lot. With prevailing west winds It's often times very bumpy. If my stomping ground were at the west end Of the lake I'd probably have a different opinion, as they have far fewer blow off days than we do on the east end.

Any Interest In a LOU group fishing trip next winter?
Fishtails replied to Fishtails's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Any of you that may consider doing this adventure without your girlfriend or wife will be needing this filled out by them: http://floridakeystreasures.com/fishing ... onfish.pdf My wife would hand me my head If I went without her. She goes to the beach and I go fishing....perfect!! -
I know, a whole year away so why bring It up now? To organize a group trip we will have to make reservations 11 months In advance. There's no way around that so If we want to consider It we need to talk about It now. Here Is my thought. When: To be decided, Sometime In Jan or Feb 2010 Where: Long Key State Park In the Florida Keys Before I get Into It, read this article about Long Key State Park. I have read several articles stating the same opinions on the area. http://floridakeystreasures.com/fishing ... fish.shtml I am going there this February 1st - 8th. I'll find out a lot more while I'm there obviously, but this Is my 4th year In a row going to the Florida keys and for those who have not been there....It's absolutely awesome!! This will be my first trip to Lksp, but the reviews are terrific, all sites are oceanfront and the fishing In the keys Is world class! Prices In the keys In general are very expensive, but the State Parks are $29 a nite!! That's why they are always full. RVs or tents....both work! I'll have my RV and boat, I'm sure Diesel will go so He'll have his RV, I'm sure some of us will have room for a few extra people who don't have an RV or tent. We can take several RVs, tents and boats and have a heck of a time!! With a group maybe we'll even line up a charter for billfish? That's as far as I'll take It for now, but let me know If there Is Interest and what dates or Ideas you have and we'll put It together! It stinks to have to plan so far ahead, but there Is no other way to get multiple sites at LKSP. We'd have to pick a date and book the sites 11 months ahead to the minute. The sites book up almost right away!!

Thanks for all the replies and pm's guys, your really helping me out and I appreciate It. I'm taking It all In and I hope to get a rod and reel picked out this week. Dan, I have never fished the flats so this will be a new experience for me. I don't fly fish either so It will be a really new experience! I got lucky and got 5 days booked on Long Key state park in the keys, then we move to John Pennecamp for 3 days In Key Largo. We have an oceanfront RV site at long key and I learned the flat right In front of my site Is some of the best bone fishing In the middle keys. I figure I'll fish every morning before the family wakes up. I'm taking a boat also so I should get other fishing In to. I tell you guys what, If you want to go to the Keys and do It cheap, the State Parks are the ticket. I'm only paying $29 a night and that's even cheaper than the state parks In NY. Hard part Is getting a reservation. They are booked solid, but reserve America Is a live site and you just have to check It numerous times a day and you can jump on a cancellation You have to be ready when you see one though. I stumbled on 5 days that had just opened up at Bahia Honda SP and In the 3 minutes I was thinking about It It was gone! Worked out though cause the next day the opening popped up at Long Key BTW, Nick sent me a vid on the double haul....now I get the screen name I have a lot to learn In three weeks.

Thanks Paul. There Is an Orvis I'm looking Into so I will send you a Pm about It.

I am In the market for a Fly Rod, but my ability Is . I've only fished with a fly rod one or two times In my life, and that was 5-6 years ago. I'd like to get a good all around rod. I'm going on a trip to the Florida Keys Early February and I'll be bonefishing on the flats several days. It will be a good place to learn...no trees behind me to snag. The only rod I have Is a 4-5 wt, I must not have researched before buying It? I read that an 8-9 wt Is best for Bonefish, Is that what you use for steelhead also, or Is a 7 better? I really don't want to spend a fortune, but I don't want junk either. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Thanks guys, I'd really appreciate your opinions. I definitely want to get It right so help out a brother here Dan...I really agree with you. I'm not one to want to "appear" to be overly serious. That's just not me. Then again, I prefer people laugh with me, not at me I think the guys want something a lil nicer than last years shirts. Last year I had the shirts made up myself and suprised everyone with them at Niagara. Since I designed them, they were meant to be kinda silly, but I think I may have taken It a little to far!! I was never really sure anyone liked them? I think the guys said they liked them, knowing It was a long swim In to shore. You may remember them...They're kinda goofy but I like them! Last year's shirts: Front Back

Hey guys, I could use some advice on choosing and designing a team shirt(s) for our fishing team. I'm kinda stuck on what to do with the design? We fish pretty many events, so I think we want to get some nice shirts done. Whatcha think....any cool Ideas? Shirt type (Bahama style, Tee, Etc.) ?? I also wanna avoid getting the same color as other teams, If I can at all help It. I'm leaning toward a bahama shirt In fossil as the color, which Is a light grayish color. Maybe some tee's also for when we're fishing.I don't know what the other guys think though? Here Is what I have to work with: Our new logo (I loved the old one, but It was a little silly). These are the best pics I've got. I have It on the front of the boat and It reads "Team Lucky Enuff" and I also have It on the sides toward the transom and It reads "Take A Kid Fishing" Any thoughts on wording for the shirt? Also, do most teams put Individual names on the shirt? Thanks!!

Nice rig Justin! Hey Chad....maybe you should put a section on this site to post pictures of your rig? It's a good way for guys to pick up Ideas on how to set up their boat, don't ya think? I know I scoured the web and the GLA site looking at pics before rigging mine. What do ya think?
