Truck stocking of Browns today and tomorrow (Thursday & Friday) at Sodus, Barge stocking of Lakers Friday. Browns were in great shape and a bit larger than in the past. They were put in the lake side of the pier, not the channel side. Very few birds to contend with also. Good move by D.E.C.
Just received notify that the DEC stocking truck will arrive at Sodus Pier on Thursday at 1:00PM, not 12 noon as earlier posted. Friday is still scheduled for noon. All and any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
Sodus Point will be receiving some of their hatchery fish this Thursday and Friday, May 12th & 13th, 2016 around 12 noon. A few bodies are always needed to help the hatchery staff. Not a big job, about an hour of your time. The trucks arrive around noon at the Lighthouse Pier near the south end. This will be part of our Brown Trout stocking program. Also on Friday, the 13th(oh boy), we will be receiving our barge stocking of Lakers. No help needed with this but cool to see it happening. If you can support the project for about an hour or so on either day or both, it would be appreciated. Thanks, Dane Brown
Nick, a little heads up re: Capt. Jack's. His addition last year is drawing several weddings on weekends. I have a meeting with him today on another issue, (pro-am), let me run it by him on a "what if" and see if the date is even available.
Thanks for the info Nick. It will be hard to beat last years event but I'm sure it will be done.
It gets bigger and better every year. And thanks for all that you do for the veterans of this country.
Your wife made a good choice picking Sodus Bay. Good fishing, good friendly people, and great restaurants.(so you better take her out a couple of times). Channels 8 and 9 will give you all the information you will need to know where to start. Good luck and enjoy your vacation. And no, I do not work for the Visitors Bureau. Have a great week.
25.7 king Thursday, The old man had to help out the Krenzer boys, hard fishing tho. Laker won the big fish at Jack's Friday, Lots of browns caught today, few salmon. Sure Strike from the river leads the tournement today(Saturday), as posted by Ruff Rider. Tomorrows another day. Good luck to all, and thanks for your participation. Great tournement so far.
I don't know as of now. Let me check with the people that receive the enteries(Krenzer's). But I am sure they all were mailed the info. Are you asking for someone in particular?
Just a quick thank you to those that showed up today to get the pens ready for our salmon delivery Monday. With a dozen or so workers, things went very fast and smooth. A special thanks to Tim Habecker from Krenzer Marine for all he did to help the project along.
When you shorten up the aft rope it pulls harder. Also lower both ends, front and back, 1" at the board. It is spelled out very clearly on Big Jon's web site.
Just a reminder, Saturday 4/25, we will be setting up the net pens for delivery of fish on Monday, 4/29. If you could donate a couple of hours to this project it would really help. We will be located behind Hollingsworths equiptment buildings on Margaretta Road. Margaretta Road runs E/W off Rt. 14, just north of Arneys Marina. We will be attaching the nets to the pens (2) and then taking them to Krenzers Marina where the fish will be delivered Monday. If anyone could spare a couple hours and have fun doing it, we welcome your help. Thanks in advance. DB
