The St Catharines Game & Fish Association is into their 5th year already for their Pen Imprinting Project! The Fry arrived for their 4 Pens in Port Dalhousie this week. A big thank you to all the volunteers who generously give their time & efforts to this project. If you would like to get involved please come by the clubhouse for more information. Our 4th pen which we acquired this spring was made possible through the co-operation of the Strait Line Anglers Club, All Tool Manufacturing and Suncor Energy. click here for some photos: http://scgameandfish.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pen&action=display&thread=831

Boat tickets available! And yes the "captain" may use it as a "single" ticket if fishing aboard another boat, but of course everyone on that boat must have their own ticket as well. Tickets will be available for sale soon at our regular outlets! We have some returning and new sponsors on board. Those prize packages from 4th-7th places are LOADED with various gift certificates & tackle items. Please support & thank all our generous sponsors for their support. Finally we are "thrilled" have to Captain Vince Pierleoni of Thrillseeker Sportfishing as our guest speaker at our next meeting on Monday March 25 @ 730pm. this meeting will be held at the Port Dalhousie Legion (west side of the harbour) Vince will be getting us primed for the upcoming season by discussing some of the latest trends & techniques he has discovered recently as well as a short Q&A session. We will be selling derby tickets, launch ramp passes & club memberships then as well. We will also be bringing back a summer "Members Derby" and details for that will be released when they are finalized.

Anyone else go for the Okuma Coldwater Linecounter?
fishdawg replied to MarkNY's topic in Tackle and Techniques
I have herd that the Coldwater reels are essentially the same reel (gears/drag/inner compenents) as the Convectors, the only difference is the pretty facelift Can anyone confirm? I am by the way a satisified owner of a full fleet of various sized Convectors -

Was among the bunch of Canadians who came over. Loaded up with some goodies & caught up with various folks. Big thanks to the LOTSA crew! Now depending what Mother Natures says, we could be just mere weeks away....

not sure if its an option for your boat but maybe consider a Minn Kota I-Pilot? Depending on the model it can range $1000,1500

fishdawg replied to alex1young's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
great unit i have a 502c and love it... same as what your after but with GPS [ Post made via Android ] -
thanks Tom the "anchor lock" worked great while perch fishing on Lake Erie this weekend!
-
thanks everyone, much appreciated! now will the track record function work & repeat itself while drifting stern first downstream with bow into the current? I wasnt sure if the GPS would be able to recognize this or not?
-
I just upgraded & installed one on my bow. Really looking forward to using all its features for various applications. I am wondering if anyone here has used one yet for controlled drifting in rivers? I plan to use it on the Niagara. Was wondering what functions would work best for dialing in a "hands free" controlled drift best. Ill definetly report back on here as I progress and learn this new unit.

St Catharines Fall Salmon Derby
fishdawg posted a topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
A heads up, the SCG&FA annual Fall Salmon Derby will begin in a couple weeks! Should be a good run with the returning class of 2009 kings (our inaugural Net Pen stocking project). Also a good idea for those fishing the final KOTL to grab tickets for their crews or those who will be out chucking spoons soon. -
