  1. Beautiful boat! Congrats! Tank
  2. Wow! based on all this info, I can consider myself lucky! I love my Magdas...and I do have a friend that has run them for 9 seasons without many issues at all(other than charter clients bending his handles)?? of course if I ever had an issue from this point forward I would consider 50 bucks for 3 full seasons well worth it...I would just buy a new one!!(or replace the clicker) and still feel like I was ahead of the game. Tank
  3. Scottys here and love em!! Tank
  4. Capt. Carl, in my humble opinion you cant beat the Okuma Magdas. I have had mine for 3 seasons and not one issue with anything. I have used more expensive reels and find that they are not worth it. I have NEVER turned the clickers off and I use scottys too. I might not fish as much as you but I do tend to fish at least twice a week, sometimes more. Tank
  5. Gator, ur sick!! butt( ) been there!! My never dead thread- Saw Creed last night at Darien...2nd time I have seen them and this was the best live show I have ever seen!!! Tank
  6. Narby's order came in and I picked up a 15# Black faceted today. Just fyi to anyone who needs any,she had 4 more 15#, 4, 20# and 4, 12# black sharks. Tank
  7. Thanks Keith, I called yesterday, she's out...she's expecting a delivery, but doesn't know when they will come. Thanks again. Tank
  8. Need one ASAP!! Thanks, Tank
  9. Just saw this...catch and release 99% of the time on my boat, unless weighing a fish for a derby or someone wants one fish, or the fish dies. I probably keep 4-5 fish per year. Tank
  10. Longline, the leader actually snapped..and they were both brand new. Got the solution now though and very sturdy. Tank
  11. Has anyone experienced any problems with the leader snapping from Moor's leader kit? Well I have. I have lost two 15# chrome sharks this year from the leader snapping that goes from the probe to the weight. Normally secured with three crimps at each end of the leader. Both leaders were from new probes purchased this past winter. Capt. Jay of Trout-N-About had the same thing happen so he started tying double overhand knots into his leader and securing it that way. We did this on my boat yesterday and used some excess coated cable from the Moor system. This setup is sweet. I feel much moor( ) confident now and the coated cable works great in this situation. Thanks Jay!! Any feedback would be appreciated. Tank
  12. As Gator mentioned, him, myself, Jay and Trish went out Sunday on Trout-N-About and had a great time! Gator already gave details, but he forgot to mention we did weigh a King for the Orleans Derby at 25.3#'s roughly 4 hours after catching it. Took me out to 700 ft. on the wire. Here's a pic Also I want to say hi to both Keiths from nuthin but net, Fishinman Tom, Ray K. and Jerry from Rebel charters. Aside from Jerry, I met all these guys for the first time Sunday. Great bunch of guys! Jerry even gave me a chicken flavored hershey bar! Additionally, thanks Jax for the great trip on Saturday! I'm still laughin about the comment at the launch about the guy you gave a quick ride to Today Jay and I went back out on the Fish Tank and had another great time! We pulled a bunch of fish early including a nice high teen to 20#ish king. Most early fish came on a mt. dew spinny with Jays hand tied green alewife fly down 100ft. over 110-150. Temp was 48-52 degrees down 100ish. At 9:30, after a slight pause in the action, we made a decision to work out a litlle deeper and at 199 ft. a 28# male slaughtered our 325 wire pulling my hottest combo of the season, the chrome grn/green hologram spinny with an atomik hammer fly. This fish never stopped taking out wire(800 ft.) until we turned on him. Great fish and should currently be in the #1 spot(salmon division) of the orleans derby! 6 hours after it was caught he weighed 27.3#'s. we continued to pull fish all day on a steady pic, but no more pigs after the big boy hit the deck. Heres a few pics from today. Tight Lines, Tank
  13. Hey Foster, yes it was pretty dark, the head was really black already. The one at bottom was starting to darken up too. Have you been fishing? Tank
  14. Great report guys! I see your double had matching lamprey marks..how cute..not : Awesome evening trip! Tank
  15. Thanks Tom, yeah I setup on a northwest troll and keeping speed at 2.25 at the probe, I was almost completely idled down and my boat has a really low idle?? I decided to troll northeast at that point to make things easier. Weird stuff goin on that night? Tank
  16. Decent rack..but it's the size of the headache where she really excels!!!
  17. Hey Keith, sweet night out there huh? Yeah, it was weird out there with the temps. Also, when I first got out there was a wicked current out of the Northwest that went away too. Good job! Yeah that ship was big! Bowbender, no I actually just have the swivel bases, fixed mount. Thanks Scott and Tangle factor! Tank
  18. You can have my wife.
  19. Got out for a short trip tonight after work. Fished 5:30-8:30 pm. Throttled down in 115 and found temp real deep so set rods and worked my way northeast from midway hamlin beach. Took first King at 241ft. on the 180 wire pulling a green/silver spinny and hammer fly that has been so hot for me this year. 2nd fish hit over 290ft. on the 60ft. rigger on a stingray NBK, this fish took me out to 400 ft. in a minute and spit the hook . Turned at 325 and headed southwest towards pump house to 230 and back north. Pulled the second fish at 300 on green and silver wire again and landed 25 minutes later..nice, slightly dark major. Turned at 330 after landing him and set the wire with a green glow atomik(hammer was hammered). Within 5 minutes we were into another major on that wire. Took poor newbie Matt out to 450! . From the time we hit this fish until the time he was in the boat I would land four smaller fish in the 5-10# range on the 80, 74 and 60 riggers armed with mag purple pounder, mag glow frog and mag NBK. One particularly po'd little king jumped at least 10 times!! Matt landed the major and we headed in at 8:30 7 for 8. Great night on the water and there was a tall ship out there too....."not that theres anything wrong with that" Few pics from phone. Tank
  20. jgrenier, I don't get the laughing part..did you think I was kidding? Your readout could easily be "off" Mine was. Tank
  21. jgrenier, there is a small slot fitted calibration screw on the back of the receiving unit(the speed dial) that is accessible once you remove the cover. My probe was running slow recently so I took it on a friend's boat and re-calibrated it to his accurate unit. Might not be the issue, but worth a try. Tank
  22. Now that you mention it Ray...it was take the F#@$en picture!! Hey Rob, nice derby bow! No I haven't been out for smallies on Ontario since I started doing the King thing. I do fish for them on Keuka. Their decline in the lake in general was what prompted me to start king fishing...and I never looked back!! Good luck finding them, I hope you do!! Tank (Andy).
