  3. Of course!! You caught a fish ..that's the important part!! Tank
  4. Not throwing stones or anything, but that is a rainbow. Tank.
  5. Now you did it Ray..another fine example... Tank
  6. I ordered mine on a Thursday and got everything the following Wed...Not bad in my opinion. Tank
  7. JR.. I'm sure you'll run into them too!! Brian, thanks alot and ditto to you on day two!!! Tank
  8. Brian, great job!! What was the weight that won it for you? Thanks, Tank
  9. First fish at 0 dark thirty..only rod in water 25.5# Didn't weigh for derby, knew it wouldn't last. First of a double Second of the double 23 lbs. Both fish expended from long, hard runs. We had to keep em. Some state launch fisherman is one happy camper!! All spoon bite..lost a few screamers on wire/spinny/fly..missed a few Pics. Some real rollers out there today! Tight Lines! Tank
  10. Legacy wrote..."it helps with the winter boredom". Rob, if you skip the shooting you can get to the bay way earlier..thus no boredom Tank
  11. I run what the majority here does as well. On occasion the fish will run into the top line, but you just pull that rod. Never had a major problem. I run fairly long too. 40 ft. lead on bottom. 25 on top. Works well. Tank
  12. Reeljerks, I agree, thanks. Sponge, what Mark means(correct me if i'm wrong) is if a fish does not hit and your bringing the rig in, keep it in the release until you can grab the cheater off the line and then release the mainline from the release. with out a fish on. This way you only tangle when a fish is on....but your reply made me laugh..and not in a "laughing at" way at all!! Tank
  13. Sponge, I think your saying that when the fish hits the cheater it gets tangled with the flasher/fly when you bring the fish in?? I do understand that, but like I said I have taken most hits on the flasher/fly. I thought you meant you get tangled while trolling around with out a fish on. I have had a few tangles when landing a fish hooked on the cheater, but I usually just cut it and tie another. Tank
  14. Thank You Seeforellen...pants on fulltime here too!!! Tank
  15. Sponge, I do it, not a ton of success, they usually take the flasher/fly, but never a tangle either. I run the fixed cheater 15 feet above the flasher. Tank.
  16. Weird story..did anyone happen to look at the recent DWI arrests? Those are some ugly mugs!!! Tank
  17. I'll be in it for the first time...maybe I'll have some beginner's luck!! Tank
  18. Sweet brown pic!! We were out of Sandy on Monday and started in 150ish. pulled a bunch of steelies and a teen king, then went in to 60-75 ft. to focus on browns and pulled a handful and another high teen king. Bait was thick and so were the browns! Good job. Tank
  19. Thanks Joe, I am glad you had a good time. You are welcome on my boat anytime! It was good to have an experienced guy out there. Keep in touch! PM me your email and I'll send you the pics. Tank
  20. Hey Yankee, yes that was me. We didn't fair quite as well as you that day but did put a few teens in the boat and lost a few other good ones. Are you staying at Sandy? If so, see you out there!! Tank P.S. yea the bridge is why I dont have a rocket launcher, especially with the high water.
  21. Jax, good to talk to you last night..that break was sick. We wound up doubling up again after we spoke...only problem was as you mention..we dropped most of our big fish..ended 10 for 17. I'm sure your loving the autopilot! See you out there!! Tank
  22. T7, for what it's worth I stack two rods on the riggers and use fixed cheaters as well. No problems so far. Wire dipsy setups are awesome and some days they take the most hits. When I have more than two guys on board, I run two stacked rigger rods with fixed cheaters(on each rigger) and two wire dipsy rods. Dipsys are easy to use and very effective! Most guys spool up with 1000' of 30lb. wire, as do I. Good Luck! Tank.
  23. Yea, sorry Rob. It was on but channel 16. I never changed it to 72. Tank
  24. Gill-T..we are in the second year of a year round catch and release bass season. Only keeping them starts in June(which I never do) I have recently switched my focus away from smallies, but you can go catch em early...and I am NOT a bed fisherman. Tank
