  1. Welcome to NOAA. I always add a foot or two to their wave predictions spent a lot of mornings eating breakfast instead of fishing when they predict 1 to 3. And I agree with the post that fishing sucks when it's rough. Hard to maintain a course and the lures are acting all crazy at the ball. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Maybe it would make the lake trout edible Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. The only product that I have found that works against these things is Buggspray. You can find it on eBay and amazon. Be sure to order the biting fly formula. I have used it for several years Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. I spent much time going back and forth with the DEC in Albany. I have an email from them stating that ANY baitfish preserved by brining can be used in NY waters. Their problem was with bait that was only preserved by freezing Which does not kill VHS virus Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Any fish that is brined doesn't have to be tested. Only if frozen only like Rhys Davis Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Can they be filleted to make bait strips ?
  7. The dreaded June doldrums Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. Here's another thought. There is a key on the impeller. It may be sheared. Pumps water at idle. But impeller slips at higher rpm Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. The flapper valve is in the exhaust tube to keep water from entering the engine in following seas if you have good exhaust flow. The valve is not the issue. Is there any contamination in your exhaust water ? Catch some and look at it Also is your cooling system open or closed ? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Must be totally different down there. Winds here steady 15 with much higher gusts. Wind like that on the bay and you have easy 6 footers Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. The way the wind is blowing in Watertown , I doubt anyone is fishing Mexico Bay today .
  12. Not if it's not blown to the crankcase. They can. blow between exhaust and water jacket. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. May have a blown head gasket. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. This is a sporting website , not a police blotter. And it is not personal in the context you infer. It IS personal in that I condemn his crime against the sport of wildfowling He gives us all a black eye. If you think for one second that PETA fund for animals and every other anti hunting/fishing organization in the world isn't all over stories like these you are sadly mistaken. We need to condemn these actions or be seen as like minded criminals Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Saiff absolutely deserves the wrath of this site and every law abiding sportsman in the US. He has betrayed his honor and deserves any and all discipline that the federal and state courts deem appropriate. We , as sportspeople , need to send a message that this is unacceptable behavior. Boycott his sponsors and his business Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I believe PBS pulled his shows cabin country and rod and reel. At least in the Watertown area Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. The Saiff "fleet " have been running rough shod over the eastern end of Lake O for years. I've had his boats start setting up within feet of my rig in the past. And then get on the radio and tell his other boats I am crowding him. The best answer to this is boycott his charter business and get the word out to others Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Sportsman ? Not so much http://www.wwnytv.com/story/35549995/hunting-guide-pleads-guilty-in-deaths-of-protected-birds
  19. Mother. Nature will help you decide. 160 fow is at least 6-7 miles out from N Sandy inlet haven't heard a lot of reports. But browns should be available all along the east shore. Be careful Lake O is a small sea and can get nasty quick Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Yes Riggis is on the N pond. You could check the wigwam also I didn't go down there but they have a nice ramp and dockage. Or at least they did Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. This is Sandy island beach Rd on the S pond. Won't be any docks in on the pond for a long while Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I was at both N and S pond. The beach is closed ( pretty much gone ) The state has a huge bucket loader in the S pond to feed a dredge that is pumping sand from the S pond to the lake side to keep the road from breaching Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  23. I was at the pond on Friday. I believe that the ramp on rt 15 ( Riggis) was open. Very high water some boats docked State launch is closed. Most of the camp docks are not in or under water place is a mess Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  24. Stopped by the launch to see what's up. The water is up. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. There are different size anode trim tabs. If you look in any boating accessory catalog you will see them listed. Sometimes you need to use just a flat anode without the trim tab Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
