Can someone tell me if NK was there? What is their status? Posts on other categories of LOU have indicated issues with shipments etc. Just wanted to know as I use NKs often.

30 pound trilene big game main line and 15 pound seaguar for early season kings, and switch to 20 pound seaguar for summer/fall kings. Vanish is no good. Like Scott B said, how do they sell any of it?

Keuka Anyone been jigging keuka or seneca?
RodBuster replied to TeamRampage's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Laketrout, I'll take the afternoon shift.....it warms up a bit. That is the primary reason we have been going miiday. In the summer we go early. Yes there are plenty of fish, and we uusally dont keep any....although yesterday five went to the smoker..... The fish do move around....I have been there about 7 times since the weekend before christmas, and they are somewhere different everytime. -

Funny, because we have experienced our best action after noon. Yesterday they were active but 1 pm to 3 PM was best... -
I can't speak for the north end but the south end is wide open. Water temp yesterfday was 39.6, so i assume north end may be a little colder, but not much. No other boats on the lake yesterday.

Planer Board Releases
RodBuster replied to cliffhanger_724's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
None whatsover. Once they are set to the correct tension they dont false release and they are consistent. I run 14 pound trilene XT. One thing to know is the lines must be all the same diameter, because the tension is based on the diameter of the line. If you have all different weight lines it will be a problem. A philips screwdriver is required to change the tension and it would be very inconvneient to change tensions while fishing. One other thing I do is epoxy the slot (they are designed to snap over the ski line one at a time) closed. I had some occasions when the fishing line would get into the slot when deployed. -
Planer Board Releases
RodBuster replied to cliffhanger_724's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Try the clippers. My experience with any type of relaese that "pinches" the line they will sometimes just allow the line to mov e through the release, rather than pull out of the release. Also releases that have a high profile will eventiully get caught up on your other lines when they are dangling after releasing. I have the clippers threaded onto the planer board line and then I have the retriever clip below the unused releases. I have been running planer board for over 25 years and In my opinion the clippers are superior to all others. -
The internet is a VERY powerful tool. It would be wise to update your website. People see the latest catalog is 2010, and combined with the rumours it is easy to see why is perpetuates.

Bass Pro Shops had previousely (before the weapons restrictions were announced) withdrawn because of some "parking issues". That is what i read on another site. -

I was one out there. Best was right down the middle of the lake, diretly in front of the canal. We got lots of landlocks and one rainbow. small fish, we threw all but one back. We were getting all our hits on the inside rods on the boards, so we ran a flatline and it worked well too. Best colors were blue and hot steel Rapalas. In fact we had no hits on any other colors. Also had some bites on the riggers from 20 down to 60. One was a DW crazy **** slim and the other was a spook. Ran a fixed cheater 5 ft above and had one bite on that on a dirty white boy.We had a dipsey out also but had no success on it.

Oneida New World Record Tiger Musky from Oneida?
RodBuster replied to RodBuster's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
I posted on September 24th,so it was not last weekend.....Based more on the lack of any other news rather than analysis of the photo it is likely not a legitimate catch. -
Oneida New World Record Tiger Musky from Oneida?
RodBuster posted a topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
I received this via email. Allegedly caught Saturday in Oneida. I was told it was 71 inches long. Anyone else hear about this? -
Congratulations to the buyer (AKA TY-1-ON) and the seller. Only problem is now i lost my fishing partner.....he had too much fun on my boat so had to go and buy his own. Now I want to become his 2nd mate. (Skyn 60 is first mate)

UNDERWATER OBSTRUCTION AT OUTER MARKER IN POINT BREEZE!
RodBuster replied to skipper19's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I could understand if it was an obstruction in the lake near shore then shame on me for not knowing the waters. But it is quite different when it is a navigational channel that is used heavily on a daily basis. -
I would like to hear theories on why a 31 pound king won the spring derby and the biggest fall derby king was only 4 pounds bigger? I know it sounds absurd, but did all those big kings get taken in the spring? Lots of big ones caught then.

I hit it last year and again two weeks ago. It is nearer the breakwall(The wall made of concrete/steel casing). Last week someone else hit it. West side for me from now on. -

Lakeside Beach State Park. -
The water takes a long time to get cold enough for the browns to come up/in. I would say it would be at least late December. By then no one is fishing. I have fished in February and they are in by that time.

For all the lost nets here is a simple solution. Take the rubber butt of the handle, fill the tube with packing peanuts and put the rubber butt back on. Net will float.

Take the leadcore and work the dacron braid back to expose about 3 inches of lead. Snip the lead off. Tie the dacron (minus the lead core) to the braid using back to back improved clinch knots.

The crimp is a likely place for cable abrasion over time. Cut off a foot or so and re terminate at least once a year.
