I have an issue with my outboard. It is a 02 Evinrude Ficht 225. The other day I let the engine warm up and left the marina. 100 yards into the lake I tried to get her up on plane and the outboard made a loud clunk sound is the best way to describe it and stalled out no warning lights. I thought I may have struck a submerged object and raised it up and it looked good. I started it up without a problem and let it idle, sounded ok as soon as I have it some gas same thing happened. It started again and I idled back to the marina. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Bear Creek - 7/19 PM
am1325 replied to oldtimer's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Great info. I know darker colored NK's have been working great for me in the early hours. After it gets bright out I try & switch up to blues, greens etc... without much success. Anyone found any color (besides SD / Fly) works better than others. Thanks -

Considering getting a slip this year instead of trailering. I am in Ontario & would like some place close by. I was wondering if anyone could give me some idea what I would be paying around Sodus, Pultneyville, Hughes. Is security an issue? My boat is 24' & 8' 1/2 wide Thanks

I ended up going with the ATomMik silverback torpedos. They track great. I am very pleased with the performance so far. Andy

I want to put together a decent wire set ups to use with dipseys. I am looking for thoughts on how much wire I should have, reel size, roller rod or regular eyes? I have a couple of Diawa accudepth 47's I was thinking about using. Will they hold up to using wire or hold enough? Thanks Andy

I am considering buying some sharks (15 pounders). I know they will greatly reduce the blow back and help me fish at a true depth. I am just wondering if they are worth the money? Or are there alternatives. All I can find are cannon balls and that won't help my problem with blow back, Thanks Andy

Does anyone know of any stations around Rochester that sell ethanol free fuel? Besides marinas? Has anyone had any problems with the blended gas? If you have what have you done? Thanks Andy
