OK Guys, Where 48 hours from being in Quinte and spoke with Jeff C. this AM. Everything is in order and we have good ice to fish on BUT the access is through private land. That being said there's parking for 7 vehicles so we might have to consolidate our caravan if possible ????. They are using machines but might also have to limit them too. If Jeff shuttles guys out then we should be fine. There is ALOT of sketchy ice out there and we should NOT be adventuresome or there could be wet feet. Friday can't come soon enough

Thank you for bring that to my attention... it is a done deal and they told me no problem, prorated it will only be like you said $12-15 as long as you shut it off when we get state side. Last year I jacked my bill by almost $70 Makes me feel like I'm stickin it to the man

Where do I start..... your not going to get there in time for the night bit , no one is SWIMMING just talked to Jeff again there on 9"-11" of ice and working areas that don't have much current. They are using there 4 wheelers. I don' know where we'll be till I call Jeff Fri. morning in transit and he's going to tell me where they fished that morning. Everything you use could catch fish the one thing I was told the color of the fall and so far hard water season has been emerald green ???? take it for what it's worth the guy fished over 45 days this fall right into December. We're all looking forward to this but PLEASE call me with any major concerns BEFORE I'm getting charged 69.5 cents a minute. Yes I called verizon and unless I want to pay $59.95 for 30 days of International calling I'm going to block my texting cause thats not any better .25 cents to receive and .50 cents to send.

I'm not going to kick your a$$ I'll be laughing to hard when you look between 2 holes that are 30" apart and a JUMBO eye swims away with your lure... kinda like losing a derby winning King a the back of the boat AFTER you miss it with the net. I'll loan you a rod with bigger line if you need it. Every should REALLY think about creepers or korkers or some sort of ice cleat. The ice is going to be slick for sure

Hi Steve, With the recent drop in temperature, we were able to once again get out on the Bay of Quinte hardwater. We continued scouting areas throughout the Bay both on Saturday and Sunday with clients coming to join us beginning Monday. Our first day with clients for 2012 was a success. Teaching our clients how to initiate a strike from a walleye that they can see staring at their lure on the Humminbird flasher and the excitement on their face after landing it is an amazing experience. We just love seeing happy clients. The ice conditions on the Bay of Quinte vary dramatically due to the varying amounts of current throughout the Bay. Approximately 70% of the Bay would be considered unsafe to walk on at the moment, however we do our homework to locate walleye under safe ice. In fact we even have 8-9 of ice in some of our spots and can use the ATVs now. We look forward to another great season and it looks like we should have enough ice now that it is here to stay. Thanks, Jeff For those of you going this is what I just got from our guide

That crap is going to need another ride across the border... it might kill the K-9 unit at the Canadian border If it hits 50 Degrees on Sun. I'm going to tow the Boat up there

OK guys were 13 days out and I'm thinking that 4 wheelers are NOT going to be a good thing even though there on 6" of ice. Just hung up the phone with Jeff and he said 4" MAYBE 5" of good black ice covered by 2" of slush that was freezing up so ???? I'm going to keep the trailer ready if something changes. Hopefully everyone has a enhanced drivers license or a passport we'll see you up there
-
O.K. let me get this straight Brian you bought a propane auger, Keith you bought a new Lx-5, Scott and Kurt both bought new Kenai Clams, I bought a new Ice 55. Did anyone else JINKS this up coming trip to Quinte

Hey, lets hear some diver duck reports!!
Lund SSS replied to sandwick50's topic in Waterfowl / Bird Game
Here's a report from Seneca 12/26 IT SUCKS . We had a man there at 0500 and he didn't get the spot we wanted, only to get to the launch and find at least 10 trailers !!!! Ran down the lake and every couple hundred yards another flashlight turned to the north and tucked in, put out a small spread and waited till legal shooting. Very few birds and almost NO Mallards .... this warm weather is killing my hopes for a good second season. Going to perch fish the next time down with a Beretta and 3" BB's as my net -
Neo, Sent you a PM but the info Lumacraft thru out there is the same. Good luck and have a merry [ Post made via iPhone ]

You don't want to fish with those SNOT ROCKETS .... the last time I used them all I caught was these and the next they got worst. After I brought home a livewell full of these I had to stop there terrible.

We're you on Quinte for these fish ????

If you've taken a good deer every year for the past few then know this, there ARE hunters out there that go there entire hunting career and only shoot 1 good deer. It's has been feast or famine this year. The temps so far are NOT going to push deer into your food plots, there is still browse to be eaten on the trees. It's not over yet, good luck this weekend
-
Ya hopefully I just point it at them and they FAINT .... to expensive to shoot at idiots

The the ballistics of this gun are amazing. If you site in at 100 yards the bullet drop is only 4" at 200 with a 200 grain Hornady XTP. I shoot a heavier round because there's no way with open sites I would shoot that far. I'm shooting a 275 grain Barnes Expander that comes out of the muzzle @ 2300 fps and generating almost 2000 ft/lbs of kinetic energy. As far as a good rest, you'd be hard pressed to "free hand" this thing it weighs 5.5 pounds. I've got a shooting stick with a "v" in it as well as a little strap that locks every thing in place. The S&W 500 is the same X frame design just a "C" hair bigger in bore. Nice part about the 460 is it shoots 45 colt, 454 Casull, and the 460 Mag, cartridges
-
The bullet hit right at the base of the head and it almost cut her in half these Barnes Expander bullets are no joke. The doe I shot last week had a 2" hole at the exit. The coyote turned into a moving ball of fur . Time to break out the smoke pole and finish out the season with NO tags left.

This coyote eat her last meal this AM when she crossed my path and I feed her the S & W 460 mag at 25 feet !!!
