  1. Well done Did you have a chance to shoot the BBB's ??? A lot of old squaw I guess I should get out there and shoot my share
  2. Nice Buck and so glad to see tomorrows hunters enjoying the kill... hell he's gutting it for you to sweet.
  3. Matt your gun is in the right hands with the boys at Beikirch's and if you start asking them about chokes the most important thing they will tell you is DON'T over choke steel you'll get the wrong results. Patternmaster and Comp n choke are both great aftermarket tubes that can really improve the affective range of any gun. That being said and I know you told me you think that triple BBB are too big but you know how hard it is to kill them flying tanks. It drops them hard and a clean head shot is all it takes with a BBB out to 50 +/- yrds. My trip to the Niagara produced a couple of 55 to 60 yard shots with stone dead birds. I know the length because the Outfitter had a 50 yard parachute cord off the back of the boat that he put the decoys on and we shot off the end of the decoy string.
  4. Matt congrats on the trip... like I mentioned in my PM I'd have to think IF I was in your shoes get a different choke or two they make ALL guns shoot longer with better shot strings and thats what really matters.
  5. Well done, nice buck
  6. SHOOT HIM because theres no doubt someone else will
  7. I swear by them Jim, in 25 years of bow hunting I'd say they are the best improvement in technology as far as design for blood loss. That animal was running dead within 2 or 3 seconds of impact, it EXPLODED with a trail STEVIE WONDER could have walked with RAY CHARLES right next too him Thanks again it's nice to have time on my hands minus Dr's and PT and Attorneys
  8. OK your out of Sandy but what I can't help but ask is ... Matt are you eating those things or are they coyote bait because the last white wings in our boat were sworn to be the last cause we couldn't handle the smell. The Surf scooter is a sweet looking bird. If your ever looking for an additional gun please look me up love to see how your bring in these SEA BIRDS.
  9. Thanks for the feedback, I can't help but wonder if you checked out the link to the website and looked at the stands I'm thinking of modeling after. The chain is not supposed to get "tight" but just solid around the tree when you "seat" the stand by jumping down near the legs it's set, and very strong.
  10. I tagged out last night so that being said yes they are on there feet and defiantly in the "chase" phase in Monroe county. The old man has seen 5 or 6 different bucks in the last 2 days and he said their following his drag lines as he walks in. Unfortunately for him he's had "bow malfunctions" on the last 2 releases missing an 8 pt. and a 10 pt. He lives about 15 min. to the east in Macedon, his comment to me was just about every tree on the ridge line and every tree on the logging road are shredded. There also a lot of scrapes in the woods. Hope this what you want to hear, I'd spend every minute you can in the woods for the next 7-10 days. I know I will be
  11. CAST AND BLAST BABY !!! hell I still got tags to fill and if the boy don't get in the stand I'm just going to have him sign them over Thanks for all the congrats, the deer are running hard right now and yes I've got nothing but time on my hands
  12. I can't compete with the neighbors orchard... funny thing is he's was at the front door when I was getting the tractor and starts telling me about the big 8 standing behind the barn while he's putting away his tractor.... my response are you sure it wasn't a 9. Why ? because I just smoked a good 9 about 15 minutes ago. How'd you guys do tonight ???
  13. Yes Sir right out the back door no really I did climb in the stand and just like I said didn't even put away the range finder and he's standing right under me and getting ready to walk behind me a quick look and size him up grab my bow off the hook and let him have it with a grunt to stop and tap all over he never knew what hit him
  14. No joke I wasn't in the stand long enough to range a couple of my shooting lanes and I look to my left and who's walking right into the lane behind me... this joker, 22 yards and I put the RAGE in the CAGE... heart shot went 35 yards.
  15. Thanks for the feedback Gene, I've seen them all and have to say that there more to a stand than saying it is light. The weight of a stand should NOT compromise the the lack of 1. noise 2. comfort and last but definitely not least SAFETY. A pound or two for carrying doesn't change anything. No one I know has to pack there stand for miles and most are less than a half a mile. Not saying I can build it better, because that would be hard to do. When I've got a prototype to show everyone I'll show the LOU people first. Until then here's a link to the stands that I SWEAR BY http://www.e-screamingeagle.com/index.html
  16. God I love those Eiders... and yes that's a very cool mount Matt
  17. Well gentlemen I've been thrown a curve ball by my Dr. who tells me I aint going back to my blue collar career as I know it. That being said I think I can build a Chain on stand that fills some gaps in the market. What I really want to hear from you" the men in field " is what is the price you'd pay for a Stand made from all steel and will last a lifetime. Model is some what of a Screaming Eagle stand for those in the know. They can't be broke. When I move mine I throw it off the tree sometimes from 20' + and never a problem. Any and all suggestions will be listened too and thought over completely. Thanks in advance
  18. Ya, ya if the boss don't give you the time off you should fire his arse. Will keep you in the loop. It's been said before but I'll say it again YOU JUST AINT RIGHT, RAY
  19. Breakfast on ICE Brian you gotta ask Gator about my breakfast sammys on hard rolls he likened them to some sort of body function that only happens on birthdays and anniversary's. We'll get this thing planned and hope for early ice, first things first lets fill the freezer with backstraps and perch.
  20. Condolences on the loss of your Mom cherish the memories and remember she'll always be with the family in spirit
  21. Just curious how many of you LOU fanatics would be interested in doing Quinte this coming hardwater season. I've got a few years under my belt but don't by any means call myself a pro up there. Do have a few contacts up there and would love to have a good outing with a couple of the gang.
  22. Just switched to 2" Blazers after over 20 years of 4" vanes and have to say this ... I really don't see any major difference. That being said I shoot a Mathews @ 70 Lbs. with 3 blade Rage. Very stable flight and have pushed them out to 50 yards with consistent groups. Come on Sat.
  23. I'm hearing some scary reports from Biekerchs about recievers and barrels being BLOWN up from this stuff not sure I'd want to be anywhere close to that. Just my 2 cents, I've shot Black Cloud since it hit the market and really like the stuff
  24. I need a bigger drool pan , drove a 93 Tiara Open about 12 years ago with a drink on the dash in 4 footers, the glass never moved !!! SWEET RIDE .... Honey remember the talk about a second mortgage
