  1. Brian, I think you answered your own question about when to get off the water. As far as having that happen, I think most of of that have put in our time it will happen. The old Nothin but Net was offshore when the storm was between us and shore when the antenna starts to crack and Keith looks at me and says " your an electrician, is the antenna supposed to make that noise ? "... me, hell no. There's nothing comfortable about knowing your going to have to take a jolt to save the crew but hell, I've been struck by lighting so this isn't going to hurt Us your best judgment but understand the next thing that happens when there's nothing else to discharge the potential is usually a LOUD BANG and you may not get to fish again EVER
  2. Brian, Why are you dumping all of your Diawa's if you don't mind me asking ??? What reels are you putting on board ?
  3. This fish was almost 45" long and had a girth of 26", long and skinny. My scale is very accurate and it was 28lbs. +/- a few ozs. Everyone who saw this pic said my scale was broken but it's been very consistent with the LOC scales that are throughout the derby ports so I trust it. There is a math formula that can be used but I don't trust it because are fish can be really skinny or real fat.
  4. Mike skip the Oak and start coming towards Sandy Creek. Your 35-40 min. at most and don't have to deal with the crowds. The deep water is MUCH closer and the fishing has been real good as of late. PM me and I'll bring you up to speed. As far as temp it's been shallow but I'm sure the strong west today are going to drive it right down ( near 100')
  5. Every port talks on a different channel, at least that's what I've come to find but if your from the Genesse to the west most everyone sits on 72
  6. Keith, Scott, Rob thank you for all your hard work and effort you've put into the Shootout I'm looking forward to a great weekend of fishing and far more important an afternoon getting to meet the guys that that call Sandy home port
  7. Brian you let Gator on your boat !!! are u crazy or did he whisper visions of lakers galore and a whole lot more Great job on the fish and I'd really like to see the second rudder on your Otter Boards. Maybe after the shootout I can take a peek at them ?
  8. THAT WHY YOUR " FISHING AGAIN ?" isn't it
  9. Scott, Keith, or Rob lets see who the competition is, after all captain speedo and team vasiline need to know if Ray K is bring team Buffy over from the Oak
  10. Matt, I'm not an expert by any means but all my divers are "set" on a #2 setting. If you only run 2 which I'm guessing you are there's no need to have them that far off to the side. You should be looking for depth not spread and my divers ROCKED this weekend at 275'-300' with most of the bigger kings coming on them. Keep at it and good luck
  11. We went 19 for 26 with almost the same bag Kings, Lakers and a couple Browns thrown in. Best fish was 20ish with 5 being 14-16 lbs. nice fish just not your going to the scales with. we were inside you Scott, I' ll be right in the same spot unless Gator wants to work that secret spot they did there MAJORS today in the AM. Good report Scott and thanks for sharing with the LOU board Spin docs did almost all our fish with the wire parked at 300'
  12. Gator where you in San Fransisco or P town, Rhode Island welcome home
  13. Scott I'll take them if you still got them. Let me know I leave the cash at the boat or we'll hook up (hit up keith h) he's good for it and I'll pay him back.
  14. Sandy Creek near Hamlin ??? got a marine radio , tune in ch. 72 there's alot of guys willing to share info or just lurk on the side sooner or later your hear the info you need.
  15. The snubber adds a stress relief for the terminal gear that is taking the hit.... as far as unnatural , the basic idea is a big fish slashing thru bait and the fly is a bait fish that did not get eaten. They don't really care about "presentation"

  17. I could put you in contact with a old friend who could name them all, then he's going to try and buy it all. He's been at it for 35 plus years. You COULD have some serious coin there. If you have any original boxes they raise the value big time !!!! PM me if you want me to have him call you. His name is Kyle
  18. Your not the only one..... we were talking about a FISHING tourney here for a short while then Silver Fox put on his speedo and the missy boys broke out there Crocs then someone threw in some Vaseline and we got Ray Koziatek get all excited like this is his favorite Buffy site or something Hambley how many are confrimed now ???
  19. Not sure why you'd put a piece of mono between your lead and the powerpro, if you have the right releases it's no problem even with a 7,8 or 10 color lead core ???
  20. Jeff, have your wife call mine after all there both going to be looking for someone to yell at
  21. Now I'm gonna have night mares just thinking about that Scott, thanks alot. I may never be able to board that boat again, That's probably going to turn into a "team uniform" Captain Skippy in a SPEEDO.
  22. So let me get this straight , now I gotta tell the old lady I'M fishing ALL weekend. Keith your definitively gonna be top on her S!@T list now. And if I gotta see Gator in a speedo I gonna carve my own eyes out with an old rusty NK mag spoon
  23. Well Done Men, The only thing Triple S did was b!@#h about the weather forecast and think about how good Saturday probably was. Glad to hear you finished 2nd
  24. I've got a 13 lb Rigdeback that needs a new home. Make me an offer, they sell for $70 new and it's only seen water 1 time.
