We get the hit and by the time(within seconds) we get the rod...fish gone.
Over the last 2 months of running it we; started without a snubber and took hits but could never hook them. We added a snubber and the rod hasn't taken a hit for the last month. This mourning we removed the snubber and bang it took a hit but no fish.
We have the drag loose/tight enough so every once in ahwile it will click
Please help! This problem is usually why the wire setup's stay in the berth
Watched a charter boat today coming in the chanel of sodus bay dispose 2 fish carcass off the back of the boat just about infront of the coast gaurd station
They have 2 boats that I know they usually keep in the Genny, I have not seen a twin but they may have one of those too
The ones I know about are triple 300's and triple 275 -- they service the engines every 50 hours of use.
Gene,
Thank you for all of your help. I will call Moor monday and see what they think now. If it is something that they think is fixable by us I will get a hold of you
Thank you. We tried to call Atommik but they were gone fishing, lol.
Moor said they had a batch of probes that were going to be finished today, I am hoping that a retailer will get one.
At least the speed works, I think if it was the other way with the speed not working it would be worse.
Anything special need to be done for a Charter boat register for the tournament?
I remember seeing in a LOC paper last year that they had a Captains pass that included a first mate as well, did I dream it or how do you get one.
Gene, thank you for your reply.
I talked to Moor yesterday and we can send it back for repair. He said the temp is not going to be anything simple that we can fix or do.
Does anyone know who will STOCK a replacement probe. Moor is 2-3 weeks minimum to fix ours and 1-2 weeks to get a replacement probe.
Anyone experience your subtroll not reading the temp? The speed works fine but the temp shows 00.0 - 01.0. It has worked flawless for almost 2 years now, and the last 2 times out this is the problem. Depth doesn't matter, it will do it inches below the water
Any idea's?
I do not see a problem with wearing a PFD during those months. Here take a look at this; http://www.enter.net/~skimmer/coldwater.html
Get a Inflatable, it like your wearing nothing at all.
Sorry for your loss but, Why?
The only people I would trust doing a transaction giving the goods without getting cash are friends that I have had for a very long time and I see regularly.
Otherwise no money, no goods
How did he stick it to you? You still have the down riggers, correct?
It's not going to be the first or only time someone promises to buy something and never does.
It's happened to me before
NK28 Super Glow Orange NBK & Hawg Wild
The second spoon is a tough one. Laster year it would most likely have been a Orange Crush or Purpler Thunder however those 2 spoons have done nothing this year.
Also other good ones have been Sea Sick Waddler or Glow Frog
Why do we only have to have 2 spoons?
if need be we can run out to Jacks tonight and register, it's only a 20 min drive from my house.
BUT it would be more convenient to not drive out tonight and do it in the mourning. I would assume barring any problems we would hit the water by 6AM. Would we meet up in the mourning and pay you?
I want to be sure it is done correct so we don't have problems.

Head North out of I-Bay (sorry did not write down the GPS numbers) to 350 fow. Within 5 minutes of setting our first rig it fired with spin dr/green hypnotist(this was set at 80' down). Boated 19# king. Circled around and the same rig took another hit but we lost it just off the back of the boat while reaching for the net. We worked the same GPS track for the next hour(anywere from 350-420fow). Our rigger with the spoon fired( set @ 100' down) with NK orange super glow NBK - boated 9# steelhead.
Nice night on the water!
