  2. Once bitten...twice shy! Welcome to LOU! Best bet is to spend money on quality charter experience. This is the fastest way to reduce your learning curve. PM me for names of charter captain in your area. Become a PRO member at this site. Best $20 bucks invested! Continue to read everything everyday. Safety first - check weather often and watch for the wind direction and the speed. Rough water - be safe and stay home so you can fish again the next time. Lady Lake can be unforgiving. Best of luck on the water.
  3. Awrsome day out there with captain Chris! Without the cowbells, this would have been a day of washing the lures. The Morning started out slow and yet it ended a bit fast and furious. I have seen boats turning back to shoreline after scanning for fish in 450 fow. Good luck to all for LOC DERBY Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. The key to a successful fishing is being able to adapt to the changes. Great photos out there! Thanks for the honest, yet good report.
  5. Awesome. Who knew the slobs can reach 20# at this time of the year! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Great advice from John! Thanks for sharing.
  7. Yes! Another awesome day with capt'n Chris. The lake shut down after the last big laker took bait. We just have to be humble and accept whatever the Lady Lake Ontario handed to us. It turned out to be another beautiful yet easy day on the water. Thanks again for the fun day ! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. Wow! I am amazed about the responses to this post. I am all for promoting fishery in our backyard. Great job PikeFreak. Have you ever wondered how I got my nickname when I started fishing in bay before I explored the Lake Ontario? I started out chasing for pike before I switched to chasing for salmon and trout. I can promise you this very day will happen to you.
  12. Good job out there especially when you re going solo!
  13. Hands down, this is the most stellar fishing day ever in front of my own eyes! Captain Chris has done it again! The lead core combos in his arsenels have made our day! I only own one lead core set on my boat and I will get a pair shortly. I hope the good lord did not hear us screaming too much on the lake. We must have attracted the other boats with our loud celebrations. The best part was when Chris found a pod of sky rocketing steelheads. One after another, steel bows kept on coming at you non- stop. I would not expect another 29 catches in a single day. Let this one go into the book of I Bay records. Thank u capt Chris fir a great day on the water. 14. An observer should pay for their way to learn from the gang, not the other way around. Obviously, the experience of observing and learning from the best (fun) guys far exceeds the value of money that you get paid as an observer. This is just like going to good college and learn from a smart professor who has been in the business for a very long time.
  15. That's the biggest I ve seen! Good job out thete. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. The fishing experience today was fantastic! One of the things we did was not following the pack. You were wise when u went out to the deep before anybody has decided to motor over to our way. I m bit sure what it is with other boats including charters who seem to follow every turns you made. LOL. Poor Mark for missing so much of the action. He should ve stuck with the top shelf to avoid any headaches associated with the cheap stuff. Captain Chris, Thanks for the stellar day of fighting the fins! 17. Good job out there! You are as good as you can be when u are not following the pack. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Ahoy Hans! Welcome back to the fishery! Like me, you will find yourself juggling with fishing and family activities for the next 18 years! My son is going to college this Fall and my daughter has 2 more years before she graduate high school. Best of luck with the fishing season!
  19. For next year during April - Steelhead can be caught in the bay while trolling flatlining or stickbaits or spoons. Browns can be found south of the bridge in late March/early April before they move out to the lake. I have caught steeleheads in the bay but not the browns. Just like what everyone else mentioned, you are better off fishing in the lake. Continue to study the posts from the I Bay fellas. Also, you should consider hooking up with the LOU members and you will learn a great deal from them. I always learn a few new things each time I fish with somebody who have not fished with me in the past. Persistence is the key! Best of luck on the water.
  20. Amazing Steelie! Congratulations!
