Guys, I have started this cool hobby with collecting old fishing lures. This activity has been a very relaxing therapy for me. I am interested in wood lures, pre-1960's lures and tackle boxes such as UMCO, WILLE BAIT. Please send PM with photos. Thanks!

What is your most memorable fishing/boating adventure.
Pike Hunter replied to rolmops's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Last spring, I was fishing on my boat with a neighbor and LOU buddy Chris - Momay4000-. We were trolling through a thick fog about 8 miles north of genny river and the visibility was very poor. When the rod fired, Chris took the reel and the battle has started. About ten minutes later, as Chris brought the fish close to the boat, I tried to net the fish and it swam away and jumped way up about 5 feet in the air before it disappeared. My heart sank immediately. I thought that the big fish got unhooked due to my failed attempt with netting the fish. Chris told me that we lost the lure and the leader. Right after this, the wire rod started shaking and I thought to myself that we got another fish as I grabed the wire rod and started reeling in. Chris was trying to tell me something at that time and I did not get what he was trying to tell me. It is hard for me to read lips while I am fighting the fish. I continue to reel in the wire and then I saw something that did not make sense. The wire had something attached to it. I was not sure if the fog has played trickery on our eyes. The wire had a leader attached to it. Sure enough, it was that big steelhead that got away earlier and it was barely hanging on to the lure from a leader. Chris tried to inform me that the swivel to the leader has caught the wire after the steely jumped up in the air. Chris managed to net the fish successfully. It was seriously a big steelhead by my standard. Perhaps close to 15 bls (not bad for a spring time!). Of course, it was I who had set up the leader and I did not close the swivel snap that connedcted the leader to the main line. Yep, I am ashamed to admit that I was not a sharp captain as I should be. It is amazing about how the swivel ended up hanging on to the wire. How weird was that? -
Key West Charter
Pike Hunter replied to Just Fishin''s topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
Rich, I am very envious of your next trip to the keys. We stated at this nice waterfront condo last year with my family. http://www.caloosacove.com/newsite/ This site has marina and we booked a charter with Tiki Charter Fishing. Roy Lindenback does both offshore and inland fishing. http://fishfloridakeys.com/tikicharters/index.htm Also, this place is just a few miles away from Bud and Mary Marina. More charters can be found there. Please send photos of your biggest catch after your trip. Best of luck and Happy Holidays. -
Love my iphone. It helps me find fish with an instant access to LOU while Im out there trolling in the lake. I strongly recommend getting a waterproof case for the iphone. Best of luck.

This is what I have on my set up with 150hp 2 stroke and 15hp 4 stroke kicker. Works great the past 5 years. -
History tends to repeat itself. Back in 2008, it was a perfect September month for the Bills with 4-0 record. The Bills did not live up to its hype after ending the season with a huge disappointment: a 7-9 record. This is one of many reasons why my friends who are Bills Fans has refused to celebrate the early success this year. Born in Long Island has made me a natural Jets Fan until I switched over to the Giants camp because the Jets has moved out of the Shea Stadium to Meadowland, even though the Giants has already moved to the Jersey wasteland. Heck, I was in college when the Giants won the Superbowl game over the heavy favorite Bills with thanks to the "Far Right" kick by Norwood. I recalled having won several bets with my frat brothers. Sigh, I certainly would like to see Bills change a little bit of history going forward starting with a WINNING season.
