  6. Cornelis, Please dont be hard on yourself. Its been a tough weekend for us as well. Yes, there was a good color break where the cold blue water met the mud line. We covered between 6 to 40 FOW and we only boated one nice brown #7 on Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to noon. We had a six rods spread including two riggers and four off planer boards. Brown took a small purple spoon off the rigger. Last Saturday, my buddy and I worked very hard in rough conditions 2-4 footers but no dice. We only trolled for browns in the shallow water. Hopefully, the lake would settle down and we would have a better chance finding them. Pike Hunter
  7. Nice work on the lakers! At least, you were able to find fish! It is too bad about the thick fog. You seem to catch on to the right surface temp when you headed out north. You were wise not to venture out further with zero visibility. I will be taking my buddies from VT and Long Island for fishing this weekend. Hope to show them how strong the kings are compared to the fish found in Atlantic ocean. Tight lines.
  8. Thanks for sharing great pictures with us!
  9. Nice work on the kings. It is unfortunate the mother nature has forced us to stay behind this weekend.
  10. Nice looking Pike! Also, brown trout looks great! Good work today!
  11. Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. Fishing the Bar, that's the place to be!
  12. Pikes are there to be found!
  13. Kudos to the boys of Yankee Trollers - thank you Rick and Craig for working so hard to put fish on the boat. We really killed em with over 25 hits!!! Barry and I had one heck of a time taking turns with rods. Boy, you know how important my hands are when I use sign language. Both my hands and arms are too tired, therefore I did not want to "talk" too much when I got home last night. I went to bed before 9 p.m. last night. Once again, thank you for the wonderful charter trip. As for you who have never fished at the bar. This is the place to be! Best of luck to all who are fishing the derby.
  14. Wow. You ve killed em. Great job!
  15. WWIV sorry about how this has tangled your board lines. Lesson learned here. Note to myself about what to do with bird: reel in your bird no matter what, have big blanket on board ready to cover up the bird, take cpr lesson, carry noisemaker to ward off birds from your shiny stickbaits.
  16. Way to go! There's nothing like a fresh start of the season with nice browns.
  17. I wanted to add more details about the sea gull. I have tried to reel it back to the boat however the bird was being towed underwater. I had no choice but to cut the line. I would never leave a bird dangled with hooks.
  18. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Bravo ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 4-23-10 Time on Water: 8 am - noon Weather/Temp: brisk 40's to 50's Wind Speed/Direction: NW Waves: 1-2 ripple Surface Temp: 49-50 Location: IBay to Webster LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 6 Total Boated: 5 Species Breakdown: Brown, Laker, Coho & Sea Gull Hot Lure: pink spoons & pink stickbaits and skly blue stickbaits Trolling Speed: 2.0 - 2.4 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 8-18 Lure Depth: 4-12 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Great day to be out in the water especially with my day off from work. Four rods - 2 on riggers and 2 off boards. Started right out of Ibay - trolling eastward in 12 FOW. First fish took cindy bomber. Nice coho. Birds were dive bombing everywhere in front of Ibay. Headed east toward Webster park away from the pack. Turned around and began trolling west. Another hit. the line stayed down as it looks familiar. Picked up fat laker over 18 FOW with ball down 12 FOW and 40 back. Took same pink spoon. Passed Oklahoma beach, 8 FOW, landed this sizable brown brute 10-12# after a good 15 minutes fight. Landed another brown! One of the sea gulls took the stick bait and could not take off. Had to cut the line and say good bye to the stickbait. This would have made it unoffical count of 6 out of 7. tight lines and good luck to those competing this weekend.
  19. Great job on the catches. Plan to head out on Friday morning. Tight lines.
  20. Nice work on the fish. What a great day to be out on the water.
  21. Combination of a great mind and a wonderful sense of humor is a rarity! Question for you, should this bumper sticker be a glow in the dark so I can be sure to ID you in the dark and let you pass by me? All in all. I would buy a bumper sticker. I have been catching more and more fish with thanks to the folks on LOU site. With more fish on my boat, I need to add stick on fish ruler to my boat so I could measure how little/big they are. I would buy a LOU stick on fish ruler!
