  1. Nice work! Two fish within a short time. Good to have a partner with you! My gal dont even want to come with me to fish anymore.
  2. Rolmops, Im sorry I do not have a radio on the boat. I did not bother getting the radio because I am deaf. However at the urging of my buddies, I will add the radio to the boat by next spring so my guests can use it to talk with others. Feel free to text me 585 802 0909. My game plan this morning was to first start the inside water first and then go off shore. With the fish biting in 80 to 90 FOW, I decided to stay by the inside water. I am tempted to go out there again this evening because of the short run to inside water. Good luck tomorrow. Anthony
  3. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: Pike Hunter ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 9-12-09 Time on Water: 6 am - 10 am Weather/Temp: Cloudy/62 Wind Speed/Direction: NE Waves: 2-4 swells Surface Temp: 58 - 64 Location: between IBay and Genny River LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 3 Total Boated: 3 Species Breakdown: coho, rainbow Hot Lure: NK mag glow - black silver evil eye Trolling Speed: 2.8 Down Speed: n/a Boat Depth: 80-100 FOW Lure Depth: 20 - 60 FOW ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Started in 70 FOW between Ibay and Genny River. Surface temp was 58 and turned to 62 when we were at 100 FOW. Cold water inside. Saw marks between 40 and 70 in 80-90 FOW. First hit - small coho took NK Mag green glow (not sure of name) on rigger 60' down. Same rigger, Same lure took another coho 6# at 50' down. Screen became empty as we approached 100 to 140 FOW. Then we turned back. Saw more marks in upper water column. Last fish took black/silver evil eye on cheater. Beautiful rainbow trout! 13#. Will add pix soon. Thank u Chris for the cheater tip! Cooper did not take any hits. Probably too cold down at the bottom. Good luck out there! Had to head back to tend my children football practice.
  4. YT, If I was a betting man and I am!, you will have plenty of fins in your cooler over the weekend! Best of luck. Anthony
  5. YT and Chris, Thanks for sharing your comments on this topic. With continued eastern wind, offshore seems to be the way to start for tomorrow morning. I wonder if the cold temp will move the salmon away from running up the river. My original thought was to start fishing near the mouth of the river before daylight and then head up north. Good luck to everyone tomorrow. Anthony
  6. OMG! Great post! Thanks Bill!
  7. Ahh, was this information intentionally left out from the report? Well, last week I did my fair share by "sacrificing" a depth raider probe and 15.5# torpedo. This incidient has led me to believe that the fish god would have rewarded me with a derby fish just to help defray my expenses. Well, the fish god have already determined that I was not worthy enough.
  8. This is an eye opener after reading your comments. In my case, I thougth I was being dumb or even better, stubborn when I continue to troll way up to the end of October last year. Tom - what am I missing? Should I add a couple more options such as mid November or "none of the above".
  9. Thanks Tim, for a very good link. Now I see a good deal on the FF and a radio!
  10. I am sitting on the fence trying to decide about when do I put away the boat. In my case, being a 3rd season troller, I have been not successful with chasing for salmon in September and October. Instead of trolling, I will be going after the bass and northern pike. Thanks for sharing your vote.
  11. Chris, It was great to have you on board. I want to add that it was a TEAM decision when we decided to head out north to deeper water. I read a recent post at LOU site that someone made a good progress in 285 FOW and higher. After reading this post, I believe we gave up too early as we approached in 250 FOW. It doesnt help when we keep hearing about Han's catches especially with a double within the inside water. I am very grateful to LOU for bringing the good, if not the best fishermen together. Anthony
  12. Good work today! You knew right where to start this morning. We ended up 3 for 7 with Chris of Momay4000 and Barry - two steelies and one laker. Before daylight in 90 to 115 FOW, the screen looked exciting and we boated two fish. Lost a major on the copper with spin doc and atomik fly. Then we decided to venture north and ended up looking at few passerbys but no takers. All of this points to the saying "never leave fish to find fish". All in all, no derby fish yet a great day to be out there!
  13. That was a great post to read! On top of the loc derby fish, Congratulations on the big KING tipping over the historical scale on your boat.
  14. Nice work, Chris! The coho would taste great on a smoker! Tight lines!
  15. Rich, We were on the same page (boats). Our party from Utah arrived late and I got to put the first lure in the water by 7 p.m. We started in 85 FOW. One release on 90' rigger with dolphin spoon. Afterwards, it was all quiet as we trolled to 135 to find empty screen. We ventured back to 105 FOW. This was when I notified you about numerous marks on the bottom of the screen. Baits and arcs everywhere! Yet, no bites! Thank you for your help with the down temp. Best of luck this weekend. Anthony
  16. Talk about hitting a grand slam! Great Pictures! Thanks for sharing!
  17. Nice work on the 25# king. We caught fish in about the same depth 135 FOW last night. Tight lines.
  18. Fishing Report Pike Hunter ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 9-1-09 Time on Water: 6 pm - 8 pm Weather/Temp: Sunny/65's Wind Speed/Direction: NW Waves: 1-2 Surface Temp: 70 Location: North of I Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2 Total Boated:1 Species Breakdown: King Hot Lure: Gator Spin Doc/Atomik Fly - tournament edition (green, white glow) Trolling Speed: 2.8 Down Speed: lost a probe the other day Boat Depth: 135 Lure Depth: 85 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== I took a derby partner with me last night. Set up with two riggers 40' and 85', 500' copper. At around 7 p.m., the rod fired and the king took gator spin doc with Atomik fly. Had a nice 15 minutes battle with a KING. Just under 20#. Fish releases successfully! No spoon bites off the rigger. Tried numerous spoons with green colors, watermelon, 42nd. No dice. I will head out tonight with non derby friends from Utah. My Utah friend has fished for rainbow and cut throat trout in the mountain creeks. I hope to show him how big our fish are in our backyard. It will be an eye opener if he gets to fight a king! Best of luck to the LOC participants!
  19. Thanks for sharing good post. Very helpful for me to plan my evening troll later.
  20. Ahoy Rob, You got serious stones to be out there in rough sea conditions. Glad you came back safe to give out a great report. Thanks for sharing! Anthony
  21. I wonder if I could get extra points for catching fish while being a handicap!!!
  22. Ahoy Captain Chris, You ve done a terrific job with the set up that took in three hits within a short time despite the choppy conditions. It is amazing to see how deep the steelhead can go down to find the lures. This has changed my view about steelheads as I have always thought them to be a top water predator. Thanks to this wonderful LOU site for bringing fellow fisherman like us together. I am fortunate to fishing with you this morning and riding on your beautiful Trophy Hard top is a real treat. Again, thanks for everything! Tight lines. Anthony
  23. Ahoy Tom, This will work for me because I am deaf and I cannot use the radio!!!!! Actually, I have never entered the pro am in the past and I know for sure I will be part of this exciting competition someday! Tight lines. Anthony
  24. This is a follow up to Chris's post and heres the picture of the 12.8 lbs steelie. Chris is very generous and yet a humble Captain as he has insisted for me to pick up the rod three times in a row this morning. First hook was a steelie and lost it on top of the water. Second hit, boated juvenile salmon. Then, for the third time when the rod fired, I wanted Chris to pick up the rod however with the Capain's order, I worked very hard not to lose this fish and reeled in successfully. Thank you Chris for a great time on your boat!
