  1. I did the re-set but have no made it out to the lake yet to see if it worked. I am having a problem with my fish-hawk transducer as well. Before the boat went in this srping, I noticed the rubber casing on the outside of the transducer was split open, so I am assuming it is a problem with the transducer. Picked up a new one for $128 today so when the boat comes out for the fish hawk replacement, I willl do the Lowrance as well. What a complete pain the the butt. It felt like it was fishing blind for the whole derby.
  2. does that trick work for all Lowrance sonar units? I am having trouble this year with my LMS337
  3. every fish I have caught this year has had gobies in their mouth
  4. I had the boat in the creek last night, the birds were diving everywhere. I wonder how many of the little guys made it out to the lake or if they are hanging in the creek getting eaten by the birds and the pike
  5. we moved to Sandy Creek Marina last year and really like it. Just put the boat in today! From my experinces on the creek- it is by far the best
  6. We did the shake down run this AM as well. Hit the water around 7 and fished until about 10. Ended up 1 for 4- most of our hits came on the riggers 7 down over 15-30 FOW.
  7. You can call Dave Oschman- 766-2284. He lives near there and has done all of the work on my boat for the past 5 years. He is great and has very reasonable rates.
  8. Gene- When we fished out of Rochester, there was a 22' Wellcraft walkaround in Irondequoit Bay with that name- but that was about 4 years ago. I am not sure where he went. Are you going to dock this year? Foster
  9. For the west end of the lake, anything out of the north east makes for bad condidtions. That being said- the 5 best days I have ever had on the lake were during 3-5 foot rollers from the north east. For some reason- it makes the fish VERY hungry!!!!!!
  10. Thanks guys- see you all next week. The boat should go in on Saturday as long as Bruce is ready in the marina. I am getting excited about another great season!!
  11. Who is in charge of the pen rearing project for Sandy Creek? Does anyone have info on when the pens are going in, fish arrive, help needed????
  12. Jeremy The Grady made it home today and is all dialed in- it will be in the water as soon as Bruce is ready. I an going out Sunday AM with Freeman on the Happy Hooker- will let you know the results. Foster
  13. Brian- You coming back to Sandy this year?

  16. Greg Check this out: http://glowinc.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=2 Solvent based- but it only glows for a few hours on a full charge Foster
  17. I have them on my boat as well. I too will be upgrading to Berts this season. Berts are mounted on a track and are EASILY adjusted!!!
  18. terrible idea. Duct tape does not do well when exposed to the elements. I would think the pounding of the waves would quickly destroy it. How much room do you have to fill in?
  19. Looking for a 4-wheeler in the Rochester area- willing to spend around $2000 cash. Send me a PM with pics and info thanks!!
  20. I know Jeff does not have good pics of it- check out this link. His is identical to it http://www.sledswap.com/class/index/images/item8504.htm
  21. We too have been messing around with many rigs. I typically run a 4 rigger set up with either dipsey's or lead core out the sides. I think there are some days flasher/fly other days it is all spoons. In the summer, one thing has remained consistant for us. Mag spoon on deep rigger, 20-30 foot lead. Next rigger, flasher fly, 10 foot lead. Then throw anything else in the mix you want. Here is my thought- deep kings are attracted to the flasher. If they do not hit it, as they turn to go back to the bottom, the mag spoon will pick them up. Here is the trick- we know that different colors fade in the water spectrum the deeper you go. My deep rigger is often down around 100 feet, which means glow/purple/copper/green are the colors that work the best.
  22. Buy the Grady and I will. If the price is right- I will throw the Ski Doo into the deal too
  23. Greg- Do us both a favor and talk my father into it! Foster
  24. Contact: Tony's Reel Repair. He is a certified cannon repair tech- outside Buffalo and is really good. He will not rip you off!
  25. Who is responsible for maintaing the launch? Is it the state or the town of Hamlin?? That answer would lead you to who would be responsible for overseeing that the rules are followed. I moved my boat to Sandy 3 years ago- and have docked it each season. Everytime I drive past the public launch- it makes me believe I made the right decision. It is $$ well spent to aviod those headaches!! It would be nice if someone would finally enforce the rules down there. All the boats trying to use the launch create dangerous conditions on the creek. Just me 2 cents
