  1. If you’re looking to buy a fishhawk X4 or X4D you will not find a better price than at Northwoods Wholesale outlet. They have definitely the best price on all fishhawk units. Furthermore I would suggest checking all of your items at their location. Just purchased my fishhawk X4D and received it in three days. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. Great fishing congratulations. From the pictures I can see you are close to shore. What was the water depth and temperature? Trying to schedule my first trip up to Lake O for spring browns. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Went over and fish Seneca lake today with no luck. Usually this time of year I fish the south end and both of the salt plant areas. I know Seneca has not been very good the last few years but it was my understanding that things were starting to get better. I was surprised to not see any fish at either of the salt plants. Did not mark many fish during the day except for what appeared to be a few Lakers on the bottom. Can anybody shed any light on fishing conditions on Seneca lake? Back about 4 or 5 years ago we could go over to either one of the salt plants and see many landlocked salmon and have a ball catching them on fly rods. Now it appears that there are very few salmon in Seneca. Any information is greatly appreciated and thank you for your time. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  8. I believe they were using rubber bands half hatched on the wire and then connecting them to the releases on the diver. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Can someone explain the setup for using a fixed dipsy diver like a slide diver. I have read some place on this site about guys using dipsy diver like a slide diver. Using some type of pinch pad type releases that you can put on a fixed dipsy that will allow the diver to be connect to the wire after you let out say 25 feet of wire. It will run just like a slide diver, but you don’t have the difficulty related to storing the slide divers or the need to go out and buy a set of slide divers. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  17. Going to put some more time and effort with the Weight Steel the next couple of months. A couple of years ago I had one rod setup with a 200-feet Weighted Steel and it was very productive. Sometimes it was the only things that would fire on the boat. So, I have a few questions. First question is does everyone agree that the obtainable depths using copper can be obtained using the weighted steel assuming you are using the 19 stranded wire with the Weighted Steel? Second question does anyone have a chart for the copper depths base on length? I understand this is just a baseline as boat speed and what lure (flasher/Fly or spoon) is connected will make a big difference. Looking for the following depths for these copper lengths: 50, 100, 200 and 400 feet of copper. If someone has a depth chart for Weighted Steel that would be very helpful. Thank you for your time. 19. WTB an old-style Big Jon Electric Down-rigger - Trying to make the jump from manual down-riggers to an electric down-rigger. Looking for small low-profile rigger like a Big Jon. Going to start with one for now as am not sure about my charging systems from my motor. Don’t mind if it is the old-style low torque motor. Just the fact of having an electric unit and not getting a sore arm during the summer will be a plus. Thank you. Fishbowl836
  20. Looking for two 17" Bert's Custom Tackle Tracks. Don't mind if they have some wear and tear. Just need to be functionally sound for Dipsey fishing this summer. Thank you. Fishbowl836
  21. Getting ready to replace the backing on a lot of my trolling reels. Would like to hear the Pro's/Con's and what type/brand of Braid most people are using as a backing on trolling reels. Also, any suggestion on the best place to purchase the new braid? Thank you for your time and effort. Fishbowl836

  23. Fisherdude, Bear is working very hard to establish a second weigh-in station for future tournaments. He has spent a lot of time speaking to several people about how to do this and improve the tournaments. I don’t think you understand how difficult this can be. It involves several things like getting another certified scale in Cayuga county if you are going to have it up north on the end east side of the lake. If you have it at Long Point State Park you need to get permission and approvals from NYS Parks and don’t forget about the money for the scale, time and another person to run the weigh-in station. This is proving to be more difficult than most people understand. Bear acknowledges the situation and is trying to work something out for future tournaments but like anything it takes time and money. Thank you
