  1. i dont plan on doin any serious long range shooting with the gun but if a shot comes up of 400yds+ i wanna make sure i got the right optics for the job.. which is makin me lean towards the 4.5-14x Zeiss w/Rapid Z 600 reticle... most of my hunting will be here in Ny with the gun but i do have several trips out west booked for elk, mulies, and whitetails where long distance shots can be common.. if i didnt have any planed hunts and was strictly hunting ny i think the 3.5-10 would be plenty
  2. What power did you go with? Picked up a Sako 300wsm and having a hard time deciding on what power to go with. Choices are a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10 or 4.5-14 [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  3. What glass did you go with? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  4. after you shoot a new Mathews you will wanna kick yourself in the butt for taking so long to upgrade! theres no comparison from 95 to 2011 bows.. i havent shot any of the Monsters but if it shoots like my Z7 Xtreme u wont be disappointed!... id suggest Little Ridge Archery in Gasport .. Roy is top notch!

  8. no wilson scotty... Big Jon took over the King of the Lake series... only thing happening from wilson is the Wilson Harbor Invitational.. must fish the Wilson event if you are fishing for the KOTL... hopefully kevin will chime in but i think the wilson event is full and only excepting teams that are fishing for KOTL http://www.wilsonharborinvitational.com/
  9. Great work as usual Paul!!! cant wait to see my buddies big atlantic!
  10. the 800 will hold 500ft of 45lb copper and 150yds of 50lb power pro backing
  11. Direct from Big Jon [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  12. double keel are a major improvement on how the boards tow when running coppers... can pull 2 600ft sections of copper off one side without the board lagging behind the boat... a few mods to the boards are a must tho... heavier rope on the board, fender washers so nothing gets pulled through the holes, and 250lb powerpro tow line
  13. now thats funny
  14. some pics from my trip... wasnt a fishing vacation but i got some water time in are house for the week short vid clip of feeding some tarpon
  15. 6inchs or so. Heard it was a slow day on the ice yest [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  16. The accura stock flash hole is .019 people have been opening them up to no more than .035 to get better ignition using the blackhorn 209 powder. Prolly not something you should do on your own but a gunsmith should be able to do without any problem [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  17. look into getting that welding tip cleaner.. works great for cleaning the flash holes on breech plugs... the trip 7 primers shouldnt be causing any issues with pellets.... with some of the loose powders (Blackhorn 209) requires a hotter primer.. but if problems still continue id try diff (hotter) primers
  18. chowder you using loose 777 or pellets? and what primers? more than likely the breach plug was gummed up but could be a primer issue as well... a welding tip cleaner is a great tool to clean that flash hole
  19. still a great deer Ray... congrats! lookin forward to the muzzy season myself
  20. nice pics Tim... already lookin forward to the 2011 season
  21. went to the range check zero on the muzzleloader and brought the 220 with me as well ... tried Win Partition Gold 3" and Rem Ultra core lokts 2.75... Partition Golds gave about a 4in group at 100yds, the Rems were all over the place. 5shot group today w/ Federal Barnes Expander Tipped
  22. theres no doubt there has been some issues on ejection problems with some of the 220s... personally i havent had one... the EGW 1pc base would block any ejected shell from coming up and hitting the scope i would think... i dont have any marks on my base or scope so im guessing mine are ejecting clean.. i do beleive Savage was recommending the EGW 1pc base as well as for ammo lots... yes i have seen some changes from lot to lot.. doesnt happen all the time but it can for sure... i always make sure i get same lot #s when stocking up
  23. i have seen some pretty drastic changes from brand to brand slugs out of some of my other slug guns.... i really think the SST are the worst...atleast for me anyways.. iv yet to own a slug gun that will shoot them with any consistant groupings but yet i always try them in any new slug gun.. maybe the new Browning A-Bolt will like them
