  1. I would like to point out that this tax proposition is at a state level and has nothing to do with a international arms treaty. The state again is wasting It's time and our tax dollars pursuing a revenue for Albany based on something that cannot be proven, how many guns are in possesion. This failed miserably in Canada already and cost the good citizens millions for nothing. If you already belong to a credible gun rights group such as the NRA or S.C.O.P.E. here in NY, I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST WORKING THRU THEM WITH DONATIONS IF YOU ARE SO COMPELLED. Rand Paul is a supporter of gun rights, and we commend him for that but he is a representative of Kentucky. If you are interested in fighting the loons in NY, S.C.O.P.E. is your go to for the state level of the fight. The language of this so called tax is more about having to register all firearms and pay a fee which is what we already do for guns we have not purchased yet, with the feds and the state. Now after you bought them they want to charge you for yearly registration of them. A process that they think will also compell you to fess up on guns you have had all your life. A financial boodoggle for the state. The state cannot do anything to re strict you from legally purchase and own a firearm as the current laws stand, but they can TRY to enact a stupid tax and make difficult for ownership. The aim of a potential U.N. arms treaty is to combat the illicit international trade of small arms by "tightening regulation of, and setting international standards for, the import, export and transfer of conventional weapons" in order to "close gaps in existing regional and national arms export control systems that allow weapons to pass onto the illicit market." Even if such a treaty came to pass, U.S. rights and laws regarding the sale and ownership of small arms would still apply within the United States. the U.S. Supreme Court established that the Constitution supersedes international treaties ratified by the U.S. Senate. (Furthermore, the U.S. Congress cannot be "bypassed" in any such treaty process, as all treaties must be ratified by a 2/3 vote of the Senate.) [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  2. How did I know that when fox news mentioned a state was proposing this gun tax, and I didn't get to hear which one, it would be New York. How do we get such morons in office? I never heard of these DEMOCRATS before this. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

  6. Yeah, I'm with ya Big Dave...and I am out here trolling the highways for dollars and I must be a sicko for lurk....uhhhh look ing at this forum 5 or 6 times a day. This forum is the best entertainment I can get besides checking seat covers in four wheelers and licking my hub caps ... Tastes like salt and gravel.....I'd much rather lick windows here, and drool over you guys fishing reports ....like all the way from here in Oklahoma City. Mark
  7. Nice...wish I could get back out there again. Went out last month 24th from third creek for the first time solo based on your last report. Had a good time watching the perch on the camera. Caught mostly dinks but had about 20 I kept over 9 inches up to 12. They are really weird acting, I was using ice jigs and pimples alternating between waxies and oak leaf grubs. Soon as I drop the lure down they would come running but then they would loose interest in the offering. What really seemed to get them turned on was dropping the pimple in the dirt with a big plume of dust. Then they all would attack like piranhas or a gang of NFL players on a fumble . Long drive for me over there but your posts helped me make the decision to try it for the first time. Thanks for sharing! Mark [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. Nice job Mike, looks like a great time! Mark [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  9. Can we get a recall vote? DC is being run by a bunch of whining babies. Neither party is doing anything constructively to bring a solution to this and many other problems. Dragging their feet and running away from their offices crying the other party is being mean and forcing their agenda on us and we don't want to play any more. Makes me sick They threaten a government shutdown cause they can't agree on anything...period. It's too bad we as The citizens of this country can't give them what they want...a shutdown... Tax Revolt style... but then they wouldn't get why that happened either. I drive the big 18 wheeler all over this country and I see the prices of fuel everywhere. New York has the highest diesel and gas prices in the country. That's a regional problem to add to the overall big problem nationwide. New York has one of the highest diesel fuel taxes in the nation and not surprisingly one of the worst levels of aggregate base taxes in the nation. Sure is a great feeling we got such great leadership in Albany too. NOT!!! So now as I am driving an average of 850 miles per day at a rate of fuel burn that is only slightly better than my 225 Yammy outboard at cruise, the price of diesel is gong to the sky, totally unpredictable for the next day. The cost of operation on this one truck is CRAZY. ...4000 dollars a week for fuel alone!.. the fuel surcharge offered by the dept. of energy is now at .52 cents per mile above the normal freight base pay. Everything transported in this truck is getting cranked up, and it will be on the shelves in the store and the retail level at costs we will not be able to sustain in this economy. Airfares, Rail freight maritime shipping etc. is going to take 90,000,000,000 dollars out of the consumers normal discretionary spending. That will be the one two punch that will take this economy down a bad road. Obama should have never made fun of the "drill baby drill" platform of the GOP. may be there would not be any difference due to the world economy but I say get it here keep it here and off the market of the world, just like the strategic oil reserve. I believe that it should be released soon to this market here. It is OUR OIL, the citizens of the USA own it, and if this gets too crazy we need the break. Who knows ...we might even end up with the old 1970's gas rationing due to the disruption of oil from the middle east. I sure hope not, but with this administration mirroring the mentality of the Carter years I can only fear the worst.

If you want to look here for info you will get it from those of us who are willing to share. It is not anyone's interest to read a selfish hijacking post. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

  13. Rich don't put batteries in series unless you want to run something or charge with 24 volts or higher. Parallel for all things 12 volts. Mark Ps...while you are trolling the alternaters should do enough to charge the batteries. The on board charger should hook up to shore power to keep them up. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
