  1. Lord gives us two days for that..(I asked)... to make up for it ...so we can catch and eat fish on another day, or something like that
  2. That's a beast Mick Nice job on the doin it by yerself there Mark
  3. Nice post I know the feeling of "gumbyed arms" and the several attempts with the net, boat moving and pole in one hand the net dragging in the water resistance and the weight of a very impressive king Very well done Mark
  4. Thanks John, I was leaning to the parmax 4. I wanted good pressure but also want it to go from my three way valve and fill the bait well. The Groco is big bucks and probably will do fine as a washdown but I wonder about the capability of it circulating the bait well for periods of time. I know it has a big amp draw and think it is not really suited to long run times and the pressure may be too much for a bait circulator. I think the one on my boat is a flojet model which is a piece of crap by all reviews and I must say I agree since it did not ever really work well and lasted only a dozen trips or so on the lake. I really only use the bait well for reviving a baby after unhooking just so it has a better chance of swimming away. Thanks for the links, I'll check them out! Mark
  5. Mine took a dump. Been reading about a few makes but most are getting bad reviews. Some from Shurflo, Jabco, and many other lesser makes. I find Groco to be the best in review, but, the price....well it's like the old saying ya get what ya pay for I suppose. Just wonder what every ones experience with what you got for the job of circulating the bait well and a wash down with reasonable pressure to get the gurvey off the deck. Thanks Mark
  6. Dos Equis?
  7. OUCH Got any video of this? Congrats I think?
  8. It is unfortunate, thaaaat....while some of my views on how well the Obama spoon program would perform..uhhh.....were taken out of context...aaand, while that seems to play well on certain threads, I just want to add.. thaaaat....as "we" spread the program around....."we" should be more adept at reeling in more suckers than anything else on the planet. However....that does not mean....uhhh...there should be any doubt...thaaaat...some of us (not me), should recalibrate how "we" implement this program....aaaand, apologize for it's in-effectiveness as "we" troll deeper into depth without any results. Now, it would be my pleasure....thaaat..at a time convenient to all, we meet at the White House, and discuss the matter over a beer. Beer....solves many problems...an example would be...uhhh..well, just look at what it did in Cambridge, Massachusetts O
  9. Great post Xing, I fish with my dad and a lot of other things sometimes, even though he has been gone since I was 16. It's nice to be alone on the water to reflect and even to talk to those wise old guys from time to time. I have special places where I can go back and it's like I was there with him all the while since 37 years ago. Thanks for sharing a special time! Mark
  10. Double dipsey fight and the riggers arn't workin for ya? .....oh "it" was for the probe...I see Ursula and Ulrika
  11. That "guy" is Charles Darwin, author of "the Origin of The Species". So did the Billiwhack (half man half sheep) really come from Ventura county in California?.....or does the law of natural selection actually place the origin of the Billiwhack from the tall grasses of the Irish high meadows?...as in how do the sheepherders find their flock when roaming in the tall green grass? How bout it Stan..have you seen any "billiwhacks" in your locale?hmmmm?
  12. Thanks Bob for getting out of that gown, we were hoping you would donate it to Ray just so he can slip into something a little more discreet when we fish near him. Mark
  13. Quick Musky, keep that gown for a trolling bag, it should slow down an aircraft carrier to trolling speed Mark
  14. Very nice, Thanks Mark
  15. Star Tron I heard is a good product. Haven't used it but I use Lucas upper cylinder lubricant and fuel conditioner in my marine engines as well as the BIG truck caterpillar diesel. It definitely helps with the fuel economy on everything it is used in, gas or diesel. I get better performance out of my 225 Yamaha two stroke. 1 quart for every 100 gals of fuel. Bottles are marked with ounces on the side for easy metering. Mark
  16. C'mon Musky, stop fakin it. Those girls (nurses) need a break from that buzzer just so you can see them wiggle in and check your vital stuff, I mean signs. You can do it, there's fish to be caught and that motor home needs it's pilot. Get well fast big man. Here....have a Mark
  17. Just to make things more complicated (sorry), the cable never goes exatly straight to the ball when trolling. The cable curves back with the flow of water resistance against it (and it gets worse with fleas or junk clinging to the cable). The ball is closer to the boat than you think by swinging with gravity and trying to reach a point under the downrigger arm.
  18. Great fish Tom, kept ya busy looks like Mark
  19. Ray, I will team with you in prayer for Bob, I too am a believer in something greater than us all, but not sure if I understand the cosmic workings of it all. Just know it doesn't hurt to think of him in his time of need and wish him godspeed in his recovery. Thanks for letting us know Ray. Mark
  20. Just saw the gas prices in Memphis, Tn......$2.13 for Regular....What was the outcome of all the investigations into the high prices of fuel in western NY....hmmmmm?
  21. It's like they have suction cups stuck to the bottom Caught big Rays and skates in Hatteras from the surf and they are really tough to pull in. Had to hook one with a sand rake in order to get it on dry land once. Mark
  22. I think I will add a high GPH bilge pump to the tool box with alligator clips for battery hookup and a big flexible hose I can throw the whole pump down the bilge in a hurry..just in case that happens...I have seen foreign objects floating around down there and wondered if someday it could cause a problem. One can never have too many backup systems. What a great post to bring up for a real eye opener as to what can happen even to seasoned mariners to create a chaotic situation. Mark
  23. Shoulda been in the derby....WHHaaaa ha haa ha What happened to the 16 lb steely that was on top? No show at awards ceremony? Mark PS ...Thanks Pete, I always knew that the fish was more important in the picture, but I didn't want to be mistaken for Mr. Wilson on "Tool Time"
  24. That is way cool ...Jeremy you da MAN Excelsior
  25. uh oh, not strong enough snap swivel maybe? What actually DID come back?Any terminal tackle? In other words you lost the diver while trolling or when the fish are hitting it. More details Stan Mark
