  10. (Skipper19) : Fishing Report ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): (7/14) Time on Water: (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM) Wind Speed/Direction: (W at 15 MPH) Waves: (3-5 Footers) Surface Temp: (66.3°F) Location: (Point Breeze) LAT/LONG: (27-28N/12-18W) =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: (4) Total Boated: (2) Species Breakdown: (2 steelhead) Hot Lure: (chartreuse 5 diamonds #265 Doctor spoon and 42 second NK28) Trolling Speed: (2.7-3.0 mph) Down Speed: (wish list) Boat Depth: (350-425 ft) Lure Depth: (61 ft and 88 ft) ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== (add pictures and any other details not captured above here) Got a late start due to some electrical issues on the trailer. Headed west through a heavy 3-5 chop rolling east. Fishing solo, I wanted to make things easy and troll downwind with a following sea. Started at the 18w by 28n lines and set up my two rods on the outboard riggers. Tried a 42 second mup rig down 90ft where I saw some marks on the graph, but got fleas on my band buster and it busted so I just switched to free sliders. Not much happened until the 13-12 west line between the 27 and 28 north. Hit the first fish, a 4 lb steely on the doctor spoon 61 ft down, released. The second steely was a nice 13 lb specimen that took the nk 28 / 42 second pattern down 88 feet. Had two other hits on the sliders but no hook up. The big steely was very energetic and put on an air show several times first like a mahi mahi then a tarpon and even some strong runs rivaling a king. Dropped the riggers to 110 feet where there were some marks but no takers. Very little bait in that area. Nice day but rough water made a hard time of fishing alone. Mark
  11. Nick's theory bumper display Is this Nick?.....uhhhh who is this guy?
  12. where do I fish today...I know in the water...but where, what creek, what lake, what river, which ocean, which stream, what pond, where on earth.....I know, turn on the satellite tv and do COUCH fishing anywhere, anytime. REMOTE PLEASE honey Mark
  13. What jekyll said Me too, tried to fish cheaply, did OK, now fish expensively, still do OK, ....just more broke, looking around for more first timers to the sport of KINGS, so I can get that over the shoulder look of bewilderment and pure shock at the first peel off the reel. The expressions are better than words can describe, but sometimes the words are pure comedy. Welcome to the madness, your fellow angler is to blame for your new found need for dopamine (hormone of happiness) high. Mark
  14. http://www.loc.org/derby/pastderbies/pastderbies.asp "Where we caught the LOC winners is a matter of record" Too bad that the matter of record can't be viewed after spring 2007. Hmmmmmm?..wonder why there is no 2008 derby stats?

  20. Whatever...dead is dead...alcohol related vehicle accidents of any type, stabbed, shot, strangled,...deterrent would be visibility in any given situation. This will lead to operator licenses for boaters and points and fine assessed, until it is suspended or revoked and then there will be no scantily clad drunk females doing the watoosie for Ray. Then we will be in trouble cause all that will be left is ...well...Ray..doing his touch the toes..BUFFY STYLE
  21. It's unfortunate about the states deficit, and the governors views on pushing money into the general fund but...... Too many people who would not think of drinking and driving in a vehicle, or riding for that matter, are willing to do it on the water in boats and personal water craft where they seem to feel safe from scrutiny by the law enforcement officials. The law is the same for watercraft operation and hyway vehicles. Bottom line is safety of all people and property in operation of their conveyance. Drinking responsibly after the fun is ok. Getting drunk and stupid is NOT Especially on the water. Falling down drunk on the ground is one thing...eventually they wake up...on the water...no wake up. I am sure the cops would rather be fishing themselves than having to do their job making sure we are all safe and enjoying the day without a tragedy. Mark
  22. http://www.rnews.com/content/top_storie ... ookie=2075 This weekend the State is looking for more ways to settle the deficit on your good time. Don't let them do it to you. Save the brewskies for the dock and be responsible for your and everyone else's safety Mark
  23. Nice fat king Carl , Nice movie star too! Like the plastic gloves, reminds me of someone I know that handles fish the same way Mark
  24. stop flatulence...From the Latin flastus, meaning blowing, as a breeze...a known (only to Al Gore), [wonder how he knows] greenhouse gas that insulates the earth from it's natural convection of heat to the atmosphere... I been in green crap houses, I usually tear the paint off and let the odor out. Mark
