  2. Good point pap. I meant ealier to suggest 27 group too. As well as the dual purpose cycle/start battery.Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. So do we need to be in Saturdays event, to be in Friday event? Not sure I got folks lined up for Saturday but do have for Friday... Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Ok thanks, I got the 800 earlier in pm and now this one, and a name. Thanks! Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Two deep cycle group 24 is better than one, you can do one, but if you can afford the best AGM, that would be good for one. If you do 2 batteries you should put a battery switch in and isolate one from the other so you could dedicate one to the house load, and one to the starting chores. Always good to have a backup just in case. The Bigger AGM is probably enough for everything and way lighter than 2 group 24 batteries. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I have the same issue with my lenses. I'm not the original owner of these 1116 models. I might try them for a set of new ones, just to see...what was the customer service number you guys called?Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Exactly the thinking I had in puchasing the grizzly I have. I do have the 150 igloo and it's not a bad cooler if you don't beat it up, but that is some of its virtue in the rough use it gets in my boat. It wasn't expensive, so if it wrecks up, no big deal. It has gotten many battle scars, latches have broken off, dropped block ice in and cracked the liner, lid is warped a little from being used as a step or seat. It keeps a couple gallon jugs frozen long enough for day use to collect fish in and I don't care so much about its aesthetic value because it gets fishy and gurly. The fish stay cold for the day and that's good enough, even had fish over nite in it. Not bad...however the Ice I put in is recyclable in jugs of my freezer, I wouldn't buy ice everyday for it and have the ice I bought get fishy and gurly. So it's not for food, or for even processed fish. The grizzly keeps enough clean ice for days and days on end. If I want good ice for the fish cooler for a day, I go to the full grizzly with ice and scoop out enough to use for the day in the old igloo to keep bait, or fish cold for the day. Then I always have clean ice left in it for margaritas around the fire later, or martinis in case the sailors come by. It's like my personal ice vendor for a long weekend even if I don't keep food or drinks in it, it makes a good ice storage container that saves buying ice that melts away in a day. So the igloo has its place, and the grizzly has its virtues. What is strange is that I beat the hell out of the igloo in the boat, and the more robust grizzly sits pretty much idle with ice and food. Could be cause it's so dang heavy!..the igloo makes a good coffin box for a day, but wouldn't want to take it on an off the grid excursion by any means. Ice can be a very guarded commodity in an out camp situation that the igloo type would be no where up to that task. In the end, cost is not my first, in considering a cooler for what it should do. However, I did not buy the Yeti, because it is THE MOST expensive of the roto molded type coolers, no better than comparable of those type, so cost did have a second considering to choice of function. Take the best deal you can get on any of those roto molded type if you need it, and you won't be disappointed in most of their function. Company to consumer relationship is a big factor too, especially when forking out the big bucks for one. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. A guy who catches that many fish in that short a time, being that tired and hot, would never consider more than three rods or have time for it....just saying! Been there, know all about it! LOL!..we ain't that young anymore. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Give me a shout or have Chris get me! He was thinking coming for the weekend of 23rd this month, but not sure yet.Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Jeez, Andy, I didn't know you were up here!..missed ya somehow, I was out on the 8th. Sat there at the docks for awhile in the late afternoon doing engine tunes etc. Finally got the boat cleaned up, a few things maintenance. Everything ran fine, so out the shoot about 6pm, went east a bit, and set up in 200 fow. Ran some spoons, flies and a meat twinkies. Only fished a couple hours, spent time dialing in some equipment, but managed a teenager king, and keeper steelhead. One hit on a 42 second mag spoon, no hook up. Both came on the 400 copper and meat. I was solo like you and did the same.. trolling with the waves. Back trolling asphalt right now, so I guess we missed! Let me know if ya need some camping space again this season! We are glad to oblige! Good luck Andy! Mark Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. That's one way. I use hollow core for repairs and even used it on a 32lb copper reel that broke, and I didn't have enough 32 to fill it, but had some 45 and spliced about 100 feet onto the end of the 32. Found out it worked pretty good! Got the reel filled and even got a but more depth coverage. No knots, and smooth.Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. For my divers, 30 lb Fireline fused original. About the best with divers and non stretch. Ran it next to the 30 lb wire for the same troll and it was better than wire. Riggers, well good luck, but you only need a section long enough to fish your depths of normal vertical distance to the ball, so use heavy mono, 40, 50, maybe even 60. You can go back to braid for a backing. The fused original is slick and works fairly well, but nothing is perfectly clean with diver rigs. I've even gotten fleas on the treble hooks of spoons when it's thick. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Exactly what I was thinking. How the hell would any body know what his intentional course would be. Or how he would correct it. Jee...let's see...if I turn right, he turns right, if I turn left, he turns left...what a douche!..I would add to the Grey poupon question. Hey captain genius, how bout you change your longitude...like to 28.5 by 50.5 something like that...don't forget your passport. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. I'm sorry but, after hearing the command on the radio, I would have had to respond.......... Excuse me, but do you have any grey poupon?...my raw salmon would be much better with it... Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. If it goes into the bore easily, not like the others. Like you can tap it in with just a few easy raps, then it is too loose to have a good friction grip. You can rough the inside diameter of the hub bore with a prick punch and hammer. Go around the hub about 90 degrees and punch a divit in the metal. It will raise the metal around the small crater created by the punch. Then you can tap the buddy in and it should have a better grip. If it still falls out then try again with 6 or 8 evenly spaced punch divits. Install again. It should stay then. Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I can see Ray K now...buffy fishing. Nice tanning oil sheen...and hey he didn't miss a spot! Even his bald head! Didn't the coast guard just have to go investigate a mysterious sheen on the lake out from Oswego? Must have been dipping skinny... Where is that lobster man? I would rather put long pants and shoes with socks on, be a little warm around my ankles, than basted with tanning oil so thick you could slide across the deck, or horse spray that is toxic to humans and water...is this ground hawg day? 17. You are welcome Joe, glad the sheet was helpful, and you should like those sealine 60's! Similar to the Seagate and nice quick retrieve! Good luck! Tell us some stories of success now! Nice pics BTW! Mark Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Maybe, I actually take it outside and use a laser range finder. Hook the end to something large and stable, my pickup was good. I walked away until I was reading 100 feet away with the spool of wire, marked that spot. Set the spool down and anchored it so it wouldn't move. Attached my backing already on the reel to the copper, and reeled it up to the spool. Then set mt reel down and ran off another 100 feet back to the pickup. Repeat until I got the desired footage on the reel. Crude but is accurate with the laser.Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Yes the haywire and even the Albright does take away space off the reel and can cause the loss of that 13 feet of copper. That was going to be a bit too tight with 40lb backing. That's why I recommended 30lb backing and leaving about .020 to .025 in the green on the spread sheet calculator. If it gets to zero, then any large knot would cause volume interference with the reel framing or level wind guide. The over wraps on a large knot like that, especially in 45lb copper, will cause the wire to lump and usually there are two of those knots involved in the full setup, backing to copper, copper to leader. I recall you were going to try 650 feet of 40lb braid. How much of what size backing did you finally decide to use with the 45lb blood run? Is this the same 30 series sealine you asked about in the beginning? Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Smashing them brings more! Pheromone response like bees! I believe skin so soft works well. My buddy used it to keep black flies in Canada off him. That worked, but don't use it on your fore head like he did. Sweat mixed with it and ran into his eyes and then they swelled nearly shut, and was pretty painful. I just wear long legged light coveralls and thicker socks or taller ankle shoes. Never a problem with that combo. Keep the fish smell on the deck down. Even using familiar bite herring for bait needs to be cleaned up. Scrub brush with small amount of bar keepers friend cleansing powder/polish (available in grocery or hardware) will get smell out and clean deck very nicely if used on each wash down rinse. Or bug- a-salt gun for fun! Sent from my SM-N900P using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  24. Yes you can run any distance that you want One of the best ways to let out less than the 500 to is to mark the copper with fluorescent paint every 100 feet. Run your copper down the chute. You cannot hook copper directly to a release, it will break. I use dental floss tied in a D loop on the copper for the release attachment on out riggers. You could do that for planning devices too.
