Prayers sent to Jason...Godspeed to his wellness..hope everything will be OK for him. Very nice guy! -
Ignition modules on late 80's anything are junk. Got a 351w in a 87 pickup, and I don't even bolt the thing to the inner fender anymore...just Bungee cord it for quick release!..lol...usually craps the bed at a busy intersection

32# and 45#..both work well for long copper. Depends on your reel capacity. I keep a 400 45# and a 600 32# on the same size reel for each copper, with the same amount of 30lb braid backing. The Diawa Seagate 60 is a nice reel for both on my boat. 60# won't be very long on any reel unless it's a tuna winch! Lol it's best for a shorter piece in the chute for quick depth angle, and can be cleared quickly in case it's getting in the way of fish on another line.

Camp/Cottage break-ins Chaumont Bay NY
skipper19 replied to Chas0218's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Just taking a drive up route 3 in that area between Pulaski and Watertown says it all. It's destitute!..I haven't been up there in many years until a couple years ago, but nothing has improved. It looks the same as it did in the 80's, that's what I mean. The poor economy in this state has fostered the low life mentality well in that area. -
Very cool!!

Steel head and Rainbow Trout
skipper19 replied to stan's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I would bet those larger trout are accustomed to the feeder going off and do eat some feed. I'll also bet they don't range too far from the surface and when the feeder is inactive they mill around feeding on small naturals. You said they are sucking flies from the surface on smooth water, and you can be certain they are there near the feeder. I would try the tiny ice jig trick with a mousy on it. Maybe get a weighted bobber for casting it and use flourocarbon to the jig and just twitch it along. Other than that...get the fly rod out Stan, just be sure to remove the planner mast so you don't send us another picture of what not to do!...or...maybe we could use a little pictorial! We still like to see you out there in that pretty lake! -
Steel head and Rainbow Trout

Stan, I've had good results with Moonshine standard in the RV series. Crabface, Hotlips, bad toad. Dreamweaver super slim in chicken wing, watermelon, and orange slurpee. http://www.moonshinelures.com/rv-series/ Thin trolling flies too on a 8 inch pro troll. Siggs Riggs flies ..trophy and pulse in UV green and orange colors. Red beads or yellow beads in the body. Some favorites are watermelon, wonderbread, mountain dew, in pulse flies. Mirage, No seeum, in the trophy series. Google Siggs Riggs trolling flies for a look at the selection. -

2012 Tracker Pro Guide V-175 WT - Cracked Hull
skipper19 replied to FleetTracker's topic in This Old Boat
Seems this company has got a bad reputation with hulls cracking, and customer service that is of no help. You would think by now they would have lost their status with dealers. Especially Bass pro. Check this out from Google! Rick of Cudahy, WI on Aug. 19, 2015.. (down a few complaints from the top) http://www.consumeraffairs.com/boats/tracker.html This is just despicable treatment of customers with problems of structural integrity on tracker boats. It's a life threatening problem in reality! I certainly hope that you have better results than this! Sounds like they need a bad day in court!... -

Yeah, I saw that. Seems like it could be a hindrance on the bench. Still could be alright for hunting, but I would also prefer less pull for best accuracy. So far, I haven't seen any kind of replacement or remedy for that issue. Still, it's made in USA, intended for compliance (stick in the eye of dictatorship), both good with me. Thinking about it anyway. I don't think the trigger pull would be a break the deal issue unless I was bench shooting a lot. I have rifles for that purpose already.

Usually guys get pike along the south side out from the parking area, near the grassy shore. Been a few years since I was there. Maybe a few other places too, but I don't know.

Thanks Pap! Yeah I have only seen reviews as well. It looks like a good woods rifle and something reliable for when it really counts. I would be interested to find what other common rounds it will chamber. Lots of stuff that I have never heard of in cartridge choice, some I have, and some are available but not listed. Just looks like a RELIABLE replace for the aged auto 742 woodsman. It is way lighter than most semi auto rifles making it a choice for mountain hunting.

Your best bet would be to...and I mean seriously..first go with 12 lb...second change the size of the diameter of the spool to a smaller one..you loose speed gain power. Better yet use on enough cable to reach the maximum depths you fish..not 200 feet or more. Less cable reduces the overall diameter of the coil of cable on the spool. Same as the smaller spool would do.
