I was watching National Geo Wild. ..an air force plane struck something at 1500 feet. DNA Evidence collected from the 40 thousand dollar damage to the wing came back from the lab....deer...3 times! Santa must have been flying low...But then they found in a fourth sample, a barbule from a bird. Identified now as a black buzzard from Florida, wherr the plane was flying... Crap! I was believed!..

Thats a nice buck Ray! Having connection to hunt one of the best counties in any state is as you say a great blessing! Sorry to hear the usual hunting grounds are decimated. I bet you will have just as good hunting in Illinois and know you will provide us with plenty more stories to be envious of your adventures. Mark

You guys having misfires, I wonder if you take your firearms inside after being out in the field. Condensation will be a really bad thing going into a warm house and back in the cold over and over. Just curious if you do that. I leave mine in the cold all the time when loaded for a week. Never had the misfortune of a misfire. Bore butter as mentioned will be your best lube. Use enough to coat the threads and not really see it there. Mark

Leupold Heavy cross hair 1.5 to 4..yes! Especially if you shoot 3 in. Mag. I had a Bushnell loose the cross hair on a New England Ultra Slug 3 inch. I know...overkill...more $ for the scope than the gun, but can't hit a thing without good glass...I don't care if the gun is 5 grand, cheap glass makes a great firearm cheap.. Adding bearing buddies on hub with zerk fitting, remove zerk?

If it is an easy loader, use the axle zerks. Better lube load to the back of the spindle. Old grease purges to the out side, wipe it off, put the rubber plug back in, and go. Never can over grease or have the seals blow out from over greasing. Many opinions on this but for easy loader spindles i don't recommend bearing buddies. The rubber plug expansion with heat and contraction with cooling keeps water out. No weep hole open. Cent frum my notso smart fone -
