Maybe you could just leave out the soy sauce. I think the salt already is enough for the base brine. However, since a good portion of the seasonings is a pepper tone, I think I would try a half cup of Worcester shire. I think you would be just fine with the brine as is and without the soy, probably not too noticed with the majority of the base being sugars in the juice. I would not add any more salt though. If ya like a little zing Matt, go with the Worcester😉 Mark Cent frum my notso smart fone

This year I had the pleasure of watching a king follow along my torpedo on the starboard rigger set at 75 ft. It was tracking along with the other three riggers set at different depths but I knew the one he was following and said to my partner that day. If that fish ever drops back from the weight he will probably swing at that mag spoon following 15 ft back. He disappeared and I looked back at it and pointed and said watch!...10 seconds later off and running! Yeehaw! Just like it was supposed to happen that way..ha ha Cent frum my notso smart fone

Running main engine what do you do with the kicker?

That little prop is gonna spin like a turbo! Probably not good for the bearings in neutral. Don't leave it in the water with it in gear. The 150 will get you up to speed and jump start the little motor and it will be forced to keep up at a speed of rpm not recommended for longevity. ..Boom! Cent frum my notso smart fone -
Use the axle zerk. Bearing buddies aren't that great. Took mine all off. Red eye no better. You can easily blow out the inner seal and the old grease never purges with out blowing the seal. Purge out the end and wipe it off is better. Now ya know ya got new grease to the inner bearing. Cent frum my notso smart fone

Last I checked...Yamaha, evinrude, Johnson, Mercury or any engine manufacturer never owned refineries or oil wells. Neither does Walmart or cabelas, bass pro and such. Same line different bottle label more money for lures or 5 more gallons of gasoline! Warranty? Yup I used manufacturer recommended oil and gasoline. FIX IT! Cent frum my notso smart fone

Furno, Raymarine and Hummingbird Units
skipper19 replied to Last One's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Faster chart speed will show arches more than a slow setting. For me I look for ease of operation. I hate getting frustrated looking for menu page back and forth poking buttons to scroll thru menu category and then scroll through function, setting, back, then exit. Can't zoom in auto mode must exit menu, scroll to setup screen and choose manual then go back set zoom, then poke RAGE ...i mean range buttons. ARRRRRRGHHH! YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!! user friendly ..maybe touch screen intuitive command. I think the A and E units from Raymarine and new units from Simrad are intuitive type screens. The systems mentioned are all good. How long they last and factory support are high priority as well for me. Discontinued Raymarine digital model on my boat...works well. Turn it on and go fishing. This one is frustrating though if you play throughout menus trying to change something simple. ..like screen color or brightness. BUTTON POKING SUCKS WHEN IN ROUGH SEAS AND TRAFFIC! The inspection costs 50 clams? And how long is the tag good for? Lost to the rich (NYC) like the rest of the ADK S and Catskill region is a result of too many years of government coming from that city. Like trying to vacation rent a small cabin now for a week. 175 to 225 a nite for two bedrooms. ...not for this local yocal! Property? Sheesh! .. Doesn't lake George connect to Champlain by la chute river and Champlain connect to Saint Lawrence? They tried this crap in Otsego lake. ..elite Cooperstown. Every day wash the boat at the launch before hitting the water. Mussels and milfoil are there. You're right..an expensive inconvenience to local folks who support business year round. Well...If the business caters to riches during the peak season, then the region shuts down in off season...where the local yocal still remains. Those regions are already lost to the rich. Taken from the NYS Conservation Page on Possession. ..to be clear Fish Caught in New York State: The possession limit when OFF the water No more than two days legal take of non‑salable fish may be transported unless a permit is obtained from a DEC Regional Office, or the fish are frozen, processed and packaged for storage. I think this is to say you can be on vacation for a week and transport off the water a daily limit of a processed packaged species times 7. . The possession limit while ON the water. A person may not have in possession, or intentionally kill or injure fish other than the sizes specified and allowed for that species on a given water.A person may not possess, kill or unnecessarily injure fish in excess of the daily limit for that species. The fish an angler catches and immediately releases uninjured will not be counted as part of the daily limit for that species. There are tournaments on Lake Ontario that will weigh 15 inch fish..not a requirement other than legal NYS size to enter...doesn't mean everyone is weighing a cooler full of them. ...20 inches is a yearling over winter into May. 12 inches is ridiculous...10 inches and 5 daily limit..what it really is in lake Michigan is ludicrous! !! Even for lake trout! ...Stan from California would even laugh at that!.. .Michigan (the lake) has smaller kings too...and complainers of no box limits anymore. .huh? why? A parody. ..not same animals but anyway.. Shoot all the spike horns and kill 3 does within the law and then hunt for a 10 point trophy in three or four years while picking over 8 pointers all day every day....NOT! Lucky to see a four point.... We as humans micromanage within the law because we can for our benefit. The pen projects thankfully do that. So does QDM herd management...Kings released into deep water to survive the first year from predators to 15 inches while learning to eat natural prey following migrations after being fed pellets by humans. The larger salmon 2 years and up are more efficient hunters after experience in the natural world. They eat more than small salmon by their weight. Law is a base line even the tournaments think are ridiculous otherwise they would keep a box full of 15 inch kings. Given the magnitude of participants in LOC it's good the Salmon has to weigh 20 "LBS" to qualify. Cent frum my notso smart fone

Maybe the state will see the potential of what you say has merit and might cause a few thousand less matures a year or two later. I often think about the size limit of 15 inches on the kings. I never keep salmon that small unless mortally wounded and would not survive. In fact I usually only keep kings that are generally over 25 inches long. A limit of 15 inches is quite small considering the king has the potential to reach 35 to 40 inches or more. There are even competition events that require a box everything format as a rule, meaning 15 inches and you have to box it. If the law was changed to a longer keep in size then more fish would return to swim if not damaged or mishandled, leading theoretically to more mature salmon in the end cycle. I don't believe most people keep salmon that small (15 inches to mid 20 something). Kings are very hardy. I know if you try to revive them by live well or cooler holding until they swim upright they can swim away strong. I even had one (16 inches) this weekend I thought was a goner. It wasn't hooked badly but came from a 400 copper haul and then unhooked and squirming, landed on the deck from five feet. I put him in the live well and circulated clean water for a few minutes. Then swelled the water around and got him swimming against the swirl. 10 minutes later he was back in the lake and digging for the bottom. They are tough. Steelhead need a little more finessing even at 21 inches, but if ya gotta keep him cause he won't swim, 21 inches is a respectable catch for eating. I agree, but it's just my opinion, I'm not that educated on size limits and how they contribute to population. In some ways it seems logical, the kings should be allowed a little more growing room. I don't know how much, but seems a bit of a solution. However in past I have not noticed any decline in matures as much as this one this year. Time will tell next year. Went out this morning with a couple friends and my son. Set up west of port in 300 FOW and trolled back east and out to 28.5 line. Had a couple hits on mag Monshine spoons without a hookup. Almost out in front of port and one friend is chumming. ...He can't shake the queeze so I take him and his brother back to port. My son and I head back out and go west a little then set in 150Fow. Going east and angling out we ended up in 26.5 to 27 line out front of the glass house and ran into a flurry of action with small salmon and steelhead. One decent screamer came unbuttoned from the 400 copper pulling a Mag Moonshine Bad Toad RV spoon. Put it back out and it comes back with a skippy on it right away. Small steelhead on a regular Moonshine Crab face slider on a 85 rigger. Another small king on a Mag Crab Face spoon set down 85 on a rigger. Three more knock offs and gone in a minute. Divers set on 3 out 225 and 275 with F/F never went. The 400 copper was hot with the mag Bad Toad spoon as well as riggers set at 80 to 90. Temp was 47 down 90. Strong current running east. Then my son became queezed out and we gave up. Nothing big, decent action and all fish returned to grow up. The live well got used to revive the little guys today. Worked very good! Every one swam away strong! Mark Cent frum my notso smart fone

80 lb hollow ace hollow core from Power Pro. You need a needle for threading copper into the hollow core and some 30 lb braid for serving the ends. No knots. Will not slip and is a smooth transition. Holds the copper like a finger trap. Cent frum my notso smart fone

Yeah lots of probes at the bottom sending signals all over the lake. Soon our working probes will be getting confused readings? Hope the batteries aren't die hards..😮😱Cent frum my notso smart fone -

Used mine twice and lost the X4 probe torpedo weight and releases. Scotty was coming up on auto, turned my back to get other side. Heard something and it was gone, spool spinning with no koad. The cable jumped the spool and broke after it wound up under the spool. Never had that happen before but it was like it just had to be the one with the probe! I spooled 300 feet of new cable new terminal end for the new torpedo and now the rigger that has the probe is the last to come up at the end of the day so I can watch it like a hawk! Narby has new probes in Stock in case ya need one right away. I know the air turned blue around the back of the boat!...it did around mine and I was alone! Good thing! I think the bat rode on the boat from the house and came out with us. He didn't show up right away, but flew around and got under the rigger. I was afraid he would bite one of us reaching around the rigger. Finally whacked him with my hat and he went for a swim. King bait!..lol! Nice fishing you did there! Looked like a good day! My son got a kick out of his dad ducking and diving with the camera! Cent frum my notso smart fone -
