Only distrustful when Ray K is logged on...make sure you have clothes on. He hacks your cam...then he'll ask ya to buffy fish with him and fool with his crabs.Don't fear....it's OK! ...he's harmless. I mean the site is.? Yes:D:lol: Cent frum my notso smart fone

Sounds like from sitting and not running you might have some deposits formed by evaporated fuel in the idle bleed circuit but as mentioned check the automatic choke setting too. A quick and easy fix could be treating the air stream into the top of the carb while it's idling with some sea foam. Get it at Auto Zone or whatever automotive parts and accessories store you have nearby. A spray bottle will make it easier or you can sprinkle it in slowly from the can. It will clean bleeds that supply air at idle. They are small brass tube and one is in the body midpoint of the choke plate I believe. Been a while since working on one. You will get some blue smoke from the sea foam burning off but it's no worry. Snap the throttle a few times to create high vacuum in the manifold and draw air into those idle air bleeds along with the sea foam. It will clean the deposits out. Just thought of one more thing. Make sure the carb bolts are tight to the manifold. No vacuum leaks anywhere. If your engine is warm and the choke plate needs to go closer to closed or you place your hand over the carb throat and it smooths out running at idle, the engine is not getting enough idle circuit air from the bleeds and trying to pull fuel and air from the venturi running circuit leading to your lean idle condition. If the sea foam doesn't clean up the problem then it needs internal cleaning and a kit. Hope this gets you going quick without a problem. I hate not being able to fish until the last hour of the season! Mark Cent frum my notso smart fone

Fuel module?...your not talking about the Vapor separation tank. There is a float in there too. Curious after all this, that if that is the one in the VST. Mark Cent frum my notso smart fone

Well I know the fishing pressures are down this season and getting less as the news goes on. There have been no parking issues at ramps I have visited at any day. I know some charter businesses that are way down and at least one captain who is a good friend that spoke of possibly canceling his few remaining trips this season due to lack of fish and the close combating for the narrow band of water that retains browns and lakers. I know a lot of people mostly locals to the western basin who have cut back on fishing the lake this year due to long slow boat rides. So my theory is there has already been an adjustment in pressure and definitely no worries as to large numbers of anglers in boats causing as much mortality of fish reeled in and released over again. There goes the cycle! It's like fishing for trout in the western ADK s. Used to do it a long time ago along with lots of others, now it's to practice my fly casting skills in peace and quiet but it doesn't cost as much as lake O trolling even though there is little chance of catching anything. My boat has been parked since July 27th. That was after 4 days of fishing straight through. One day for the Sandy Creek Shoot out and a go big or go home king attitude 6 rod king program 15 mile troll and we went home...stayed there. No pressure from me and I was off work 13 miles from Port of Point Breeze. That's just me but the ramps show many others out of the loop as well. Mark Cent frum my notso smart fone

I don't think a higher target rate of fishing browns and steelhead will deplete population in the lake by much. The size limits on steelhead and 1 fish out of the tribs plus I believe that brownies and steelhead are more successful natural spawning fish. They also live longer natural lives. Last year's steelhead looked malnutritioned. Skinny long and oversized heads. This year some fat and heavy specimens. It's likely that some more mature trout will be removed from the natural spawning by more active targeting them in the lake. As a whole I think it is no more pressure than the mature fish receive all year long...and more particularly while these fish are in spawn mode. I wonder if size limits on salmon more than 15 inches would help? Works for antler limits on deer!...I know bad comparisons cause we only hunt deer during their spawning season! Lol! But 15 inches when the fish is capable of 40ish! It could help a year class come in the future..?? Cent frum my notso smart fone

With all the reports and some very sophisticated electronic finding equipment, it is hard for me to believe this season, the normal tens of thousands running the Salmon River and stacking heavily in Orwell to the ladders. Yes they are scattered at all depths, but sparce in density. I hope I'm scratching my head and baffled by the hugest run we have witnessed, but if there is not...I hope some brilliant science will determine why. Weather related incidents are NOT affecting any other fish or invasive species by observation or report I have come across. Browns are warmer water species. ..steelhead are tolerance of many temps and there have been stellar catches of them every where...so why are kings the only anomaly in the grand picture? Weather did little to affect fleas, gobie, alewife, smelt, Lamprey, or mussels. Why or how could it only make kings the least caught of a most sought after fish? Ecologically the water in my experience has changed in color is all I have noticed. Still hoping to scratch my head...I'm thinking too much if that happens. .😞 Mark Cent frum my notso smart fone

Yes! Definitely! See post #76..not a guarantee but an observation (first need to find fish!). Also noticed big paddles and meat were washing. Got more hits on meat run clean on a twinkie rig.I was getting a kick out of the evening you went to watch the movie on the silver screen! I thought about how many times I said the sonar looked like the drive in screen in January! Lol!..bet it was good to watch something more entertaining on a screen that day!😉 Cent frum my notso smart fone

Well now it's August. ..many tournaments later since May and many, many goose eggs on the boards from seasoned salmon trollers. Lots of reports of bait everywhere and lots of water covered including my efforts from Johnson Creek to the Scotch Bonnet Gap with the same results as reports from Wilson to Mexico.....it's a big lake, but not that big when narrowed down by several hundred trips everywhere, every week. Salmon densities are sparce, Captain Vince may be right, and if he is, I hope the river run will be enough for the brood of next season. Hope we don't have drought for the first part of the runs. I seem to recall low water conditions 3 years ago and DEC went looking for fresh roe from trib fishermen, ...or was that just a story? Any how. .. Labor Day weekend is coming in three weeks. It's the fourth quarter and we are way behind.. Cent frum my notso smart fone

Move the axle back 6 inches or more and check for tongue weight on the bathroom scale at level trailer attitude. 8 to 10 % on the tongue. If your boat weighs 3200 trailer weighs 800 you got 4000 total. 8 % would be 320 lbs. But you gotta take into consider the weight behind the axles. Down riggers with 12 lb weights hanging and a kicker motor. ..another 5 gallons gas can hanging on the swim platform all fulcrum weight off the hitch and needs to be compensated for. Here is a little more advantage to the axle move to the REAR..yes to get more weight on the ball move the axle back and you will also benefit from the boat floating off and on easier without backing in the water so far. A longer wheel base from the tongue will stop the wagging and porpoise issues. It's very simple to move the axle by loosening the u bolts at the frame. Mark the axle position and move the axle back the same on both sides. Check the scale. When it is right and you have the 8% on the tongue next you check alignment. Measure with a string from the center of the hub to the center of the hitch near the hitch lock. That reference point could be a mark placed exact center of the hitch behind the lock. Get the measurement to be the same each side at the axle hubs and then scribe a mark where the axle edge crosses the frame rail for future reference point in case you need to make adjustments later. Tighten the frame axle u bolts and you are good to go. Not sure if your axle has brakes. .but if it does not then you are done. Tandem axle you measure the alignment at the exact Centerpoint of the space between the axles as the fulcrum point. I'm guessing yours is a single axle .. Mark Cent frum my notso smart fone

Yes.. There has been a significant lack of color and thermal breaks the last week and weekend at point breeze. Kings are scattered and there is no pattern to follow. Some good fish are taken from every quadrant inside and out but the consistency has been dismal and full boxes of just kings are a luck of the draw on the choice of your position. However in recent posts there seems to be a glimmer of better kings coming and hopefully for the next month it will be a little more promising. .just my swag estimate. .FWIW!
