  1. Rick, and Jim, I like the idea of the towels. Lots of good reviews for the frog togg. Guess I'll have to suggest those to my crew for the day. The water mister seemed like a good idea but I think it gets everyone cool at the same time along with everything wet as well. It's expensive too. I do have the dive platform shower nozzel, just gotta put in a new pump. That would work for cold fresh water from the tank on board. Maybe I could get Ray to show me the way to trifold the frog togg into a diaper and go semi-buffy...or not,.... my crew will abandon ship. Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. With the upcoming heat wave in the NE, I wonder how folks refresh and cool themselves while fishing. Aside from jumping in the lake and trolling yourself on a rope, or in Ray's method, buffy, and moisture wicking fur, what works for you, specialy on an open boat. I was considering one of those water misting systems. On board tank, filled with cold water, high pressure pump and nozzels, lining my t top. A short blast of cold mist to cool off for a bit when midday heat and exhaustion start to become an issue. Anybody ever use one of those? Thinking about the humidity we have, I wonder if it would just add to the problem and just make you and things wet. These systems claim a 25 degree drop in immediate area temps. If you have used one, or been on a boat with one working, I would like to know if you thought it helped keep you from running for the air conditioned mahogany ridge. Thanks Mark Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  9. Exactly right! 7 inch shrade, very flexible, needs a more ergonomic handle, but manageable. Does all things well, fillet, skin, pin bones removed, lateral line fat out. Any size salmon...different method than most...but I get more good flesh than hogging off the sides in one swipe with a stiff ....uhhhh...12 incher...so I don't use it as a rule! Sent from mly PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  16. You might want to consider a new one. The battery life is 5 years. No way to replace it that I know of. Maybe someone has done it. Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Right on both accounts!I might try a black fly pattern on a 5 weight and weight forward line. Cast into the scum line. That should be interesting. 15 lb steelie on a fly.Ray, you got a 500 foot push pole?:lol:Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. Well, kinda. It's been 5 days now since last time I was happily trolling around the "Breeze" catching a fish here and there. The flies became increasing fierce as that day went on. Now after 4 days of pounding the pavement as hard and fast as my "loaded like a freight train, driven like an airplane" 18 wheeler will go, I'm scratching. Reaching down, yanking my socks down, scratching my ankles. Suddenly it occurs to me, as I'm trying to make delivery in cosmic traffic, pouring rain, etc....my left hand, scratching my outside left ankle bone..hey! I remember that ankle hit! That was the 25 lb king that smacked the 42 second spoon! Shortly after that, my right hand is reaching down scratching my right Achilles tendon...uh huh!..that was the steely that launched 4 feet in the air on a moonshine crabface! The roar of the big Caterpillar now less noticeable. The whine of the tires less mind numbing. I'm thinking of that time 5 days ago.....because I'm SCRATCHING!..now I got another itchy feeling. Can't wait to do it again! Off the road again!...just can't wait to get OFF! the road again! My life is fishing with my friends, just can't wait to get OFF the road again! And the crowd goes wild!....oh yeah, well that's the guys on the receiving dock....WHERE THE HECK YOU BEEN, DRIVER!? uhhhh..fishing? Mark Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Ahhhh yes, the TWANG! and subsequent jump off the boat reaction!...yes very sweet! Absolute right Gator. Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Fly fin side, over 2.2 mph front hole. Under 2.2 back hole If that don't work switch it Or pull it backwards.Aww, man!..Ray is influencing me again.LOL Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. I run both small and medium divers on the outriggers. Not wire though. I have fireline fused original braid on two of my diver rods for the blacks releases. Fleas don't cling to the fireline any worse than wire in my experience. No worries about kinks or using rubber bands. Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  24. Cousin Tim..Yer not a poor mountaineer, are ya?...ohhhhhh,,,,that's right, fergot...that's why I threw mine in the crick out yonder. Snappin turtle soup and poss belly...gotcha! Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Not reading too much into it? At least four other people said it was bad out there. I see one was at 12 mph, admits to close run in. It depends on what wide open throttle is on a given boat. Mine tops out at 43 mph...loaded. Does 6 pairs of eyes looking forward on deck see thru the same fog better? But I wasn't there..and well. I can't judge it except for the others experiences. No harm done, peace! Mark Sent from my PC36100 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
