  9. Like Steve said a firearm law in NY shouldn't really be your only element for leaving NY. I think there are probably some other underlying reasons that bring your focus to that PARTICULAR decision, and I can't blame you on that basis. I can tell you one thing about moving into another state, especially neighboring states, is that a new shell game has been introduced in the US..... EENY MEENIE MINEE MOE...take the "bad guns" from competent NY Joe, .make him sell them out of state to maybe someone who's whacko. Cuomo has defined an elitist sepratist state. But don't give up on fishing Lake O, at least one of our neighbors will help NY make the lake the safest place on earth. No criminals.....aaaahhh...now that is relaxation at it's finest ...what's the lyrics to koom baeya?..or what ever it is? I don't sing that much. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  10. Excellent post Morgan. All very good points. Locks on doors are not going to keep whacked out perps from coming in, and locks have to be unlocked at some point to let kids out. Inside or out, the whacko is still the threat. However unfortunately, if in NY we are going to have a 7 round limit on the magazine, you will be reduced to using a revolver. Seriously outgunned by a perp with the unlawfully aquired 10 round or more autoloader. NY law will and has as we type, effectively made any semi automatic handgun illegal. Yes that is what I said illegal, because you cannot buy one now. It has been banned. The reason is the manufacturer of any autoloader builds 10 round or more handguns now allowed only in 49 other states. Does anyone believe the manufacturer is going to make a specific 7 round magazine just for NY residents? That number wasn't just pulled out of the air. That is why this control is really a ban on handguns in NY. The unfortunate part is this ban applies only to law abiding citizens, not to sick premeditated plans to harm another innocent human. This has a much larger agenda than protecting our children. Unless the teacher using the handgun is also a sworn police officer the use of a handgun that has semi auto capabilities able to deal with a perp with a banned gun, will be severely handicapped, especially if there are more than one nut job, as in Columbine. The deterring factor is there, but the perp also has the knowledge of the shortcomings of the resistance thanks to the BAN in NY. [ Post made via Android ]
  11. Darn!...no chance for ice fishing again! Wonder what it would be like walking out to fish if the lake froze with 17 foot ice caps [ Post made via Android ]
  12. It's ok Steve, I know a great place where we can sell all of our guns out of state for big money. Even a slingshot. A little country called Syria, where they are fighting for their freedoms while we loose ours. [ Post made via Android ]
  13. These are adults?...watching our children in school?...get a grip! 15. As I watched the video of the Australian govt demoralization of their society by confiscation of their firearms, I remembered an occasion where I was searching the internet for info on a compound bow. That search led me to stumble upon a forum much like this about hunting. The subject of course was about what I was searching for and I ended up chatting with some Aussie bowhunters. At the time they were discussing the real possibility that their green party in control were enacting bills to make a compound bow illegal to own. I don't know how that ended, but I could not believe the stupidity of such a government to condemn a compound bow as an assault weapon. So....now you see what the definition of an ASSAULT WEAPON has been reduced to. How disturbing is that!...the Aussie people have been used as guinea pigs for one world order for years. This is happening before our eyes, keep the pressure on. Do it every day. Make a nuisance of ourselves and tie up due processes in the capital until they can't stand it any longer and can't perform their disfunctions any longer. It must be done this way. Complacently sitting by saying someone else will do it let's all this happen as evidence shows....and they warn us. [ Post made via Android ]
  16. Taken from the NYSR&PA NYSRPA, in co-operation with the NRA, are having the Cuomo law reviewed by a highly qualified legal team. We ask that no other 3rd party legal action be taken without prior consultation. We realize that this law impacts a large number of people, but a proper legal review will take some time. Please do not call or e-mail the office or directors. If/when there is an announcement on this issue, it will be published on our website. Thank you for your understanding. IMHO...Mr Tresmond in a knee jerk action, could fly a weak case and set precedent. These guys know Albany, and the right people. A well thought strategy is best. Don't believe one Buffalo lawyer with names is gonna get you something from Albany. Relax, there's time, panic responses most often lead to disaster. Keep in touch with the right reps, stay informed from the right places. S.C.O.P.E. and New York State Rifle & Pistol Association are your legitimate defenders in NY. Meanwhile.... 17. Don't forget that all out of state drivers, or gun owners, will report their crossing the state line and must comply with these laws as well as register their car, or firearm, with the state of NY and pay a fee or be denied entry if your car or firearm is not exempt from NY state law. Welcome to the imperial territory of what was NY. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote. A variation of Ben Franklin quote Gather the flock. [ Post made via Android ]
  18. In the previous condensed version there is a glaring omission or discrepancy in the "exempt" paragraph. It states "semi-automatic rifles that cannot accept a detachable magazine;" As beforehand it was the same rifle THAT CAN accept a detachable magazine, possessing ONE other AR feature. If that other feature is missing, then it should still be a LEGAL, semi-auto, magazine fed hunting rifle They better clear that up...It's a good thing that officials office contact is posted. On second thought...are they trying to say a semi auto tubular magazine is ok and you can have whatever two features now allowed by the federal law?....due to some peculiar irregularities, it can't be translated....It's all bedboils! 19. 4th amendment rights are next to be disgraced by probable cause due to the electronic data base for firearms and ammo registration. Not just handguns...all firearms and ammo, and parts for guns. When you send a gun to a smith, it will be registered, when you send a gun from NY to anywhere it will be sent back not to you but a FFL dealer and be registered before you will pick it up in person. Any of these actions places you and that gun on the data base. If it fits one of those prescibed definitions of features it will be seized and your open for inspection in your home after that as probable cause. Those are frightening scenarios whence you were legally owning a hunting rifle or shotgun just days ago. I am writting my reps on this and asking for judicial processes to weigh in...if possible..if not I submit that the job of my represented district officials jobs just became useless and we are ruled by one...I would at that point suggest for a recall not just on this matter but many. Circumvented democratic process. Are we gonna be sheep here in upstate? [ Post made via Android ]
  20. An electronic database of all guns and ammo purchased in NY....I feel so much safer in my home with a hacker selling that information to the nut jobs wanting a gun for crime. Oh wait the stupid lib. Publications already did that too! Good thing no one knows about the concealed weapon under permit, can't see how many rounds are in it either..duh! Might as well count out any chance of a new Bass pro or Cabellas in NY....JEEZE...sure hope Dick's gets a better selection of fishing tackle, this fits right into their world of not selling certain ammunition [ Post made via Android ]
  21. Steering a course to troll by a brightly colored object floating in the distance. Somehow it's got the motherload of fish under it, and is especialy good if it is a mylar balloon saying "I love you" on it. Once it turned out to be Ray, in a kayak, wearing nuttin but a knitted brightly colored Jamaican beanie, and he said "I love you man"...and he had all the fish [ Post made via Android ]

  24. An interesting thought about the elderly folks being victims of drug addict assaults Vince! I have been thinking of some of the friends of mine who are living at home (I have one who is 85 living with me) and are on many pain relief prescription drugs at home. Some codine, some morphine, and others that can be concocted into a crack head cocktail, no need to risk a drug store invasion for the "whack job". It's too easy to get into a home where these folks live and do what ever to feed their need. I live in a very rural area, and from what I understand it takes the police over 11 minutes to respond to a 911 in the city of Atlanta. I can imagine three times that out here in "Lyntucky" two neighbors (gun owners also one a retired sheriff) but the rest are miles away. That wait time will only grow longer as less threat to the perps is enacted. 911 could eventually become similar to getting help from something like a call to Lowrance Marine Electronics...."911..PLEASE STAY ON THE LINE, Please wait for the next available assistant"..5 minute...10 minutes...30 minutes.........your call has been disconnected...CLICK! V V V SAFETY OFF!...... and so six bullets were not enough for one assailant....and five from a .38 wasn't big enough to stop the intruder from getting tax assisted recovery in a hospital. She did OK, and she is alive, and her children are too! She is a hero! Mark
