  1. Exactly!..30 lb fireline fused original...only braid I know that does not collect fleas [ Post made via Android ]
  2. That is bad news, there was another home leveled just a short while ago in western ny. A teenage girl lost her life. Very sad ...you are right Ray. Professionals like you are needed when life threatening dangers exist in gas or electric. I hope they will be ok. [ Post made via Android ]
  3. There is a nice cleaning station at the Marine park under the bridges. Go in the park and head north past the Sheriffs station in the chain link caged in area. It has a lock on it sometimes, so see the park office or maybe the sheriffs office for the key. I found it locked the other day and couldn't find anyone. Seems some people cant remember to shut off the water is the reason I found out. best if you have your own cleaning board though, since it's only a 2x8 for cleaning on, but the grinder is working to get rid of waste.

  5. First the riggers better be very ridged for dipsy pulling. You can run copper any length using a rubber band to hold the copper. You can run dipsy off the riggers, however I have not used wire for that but do use Fireline Fused original braid and it gets no fleas, just run it over the blacks release and drop in the water AFTER lining to the end of the rigger. If you put the dipsy in the water before clipping to release you will not get it to the end because of the drag in the water. Line it out on the rigger first, then drop it. I don't recommend dipsy on a wire like this. If you can use the Fireline like I mentioned there is no problem. Also if you are fishing in rough conditions the outriggers are an advantage as they are not effected by waves. Turns are easier, and less in the water to contend with. Big boards are good too! I use the outriggers first because they are easy to get set up and run the coppers high and back behind the boat so they clear the other sets of dipsy. No guarantees not to tangle after a fish takes a longline though Mark
  6. Nice fish Matt, Congrates! [ Post made via Android ]
  7. Amazing Carl!.....jeezzer....I tossed a wad off the boat a couple months ago off my 200... ..maybe I can find it and play rubics cube with it as well [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Good job father and son. Salute! Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  9. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 8/3 Time on Water: 7:00 to 1:00 Weather/Temp: sunny humid Wind Speed/Direction: westerly 5 to 10 Waves: 2 foot or less Surface Temp: 77.6 Location: glass house to Devils Nose LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 7 Total Boated: 5 Species Breakdown: KINGS, STEELHEAD Hot Lure: dreamweaver pinkeye mag, Mtn dew spiny and adrenaline fly Trolling Speed: 2.6 2.8 sog gps Down Speed: Boat Depth: 200 to 375 Lure Depth: 60 to 80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Took Steve, a newbie out to get him introduced to salmon IN the lake and get them BEFORE they turn into zombies ..Heading out of port took a right and went down to the glass house and set out 6 lines in front of the glass house trolling north east. The three riggers run clean off the ball with spoons, two divers out 180 and 240 f/f combos, one 400 copper pulling meat off a protroll/Rhys Davis rig down the shoot. The troll was a little slow on hits at first, some streakers coming and leaving, figured the full moon had the fish full from nite feeding so kept going deeper north east. Turned on the black box just to see if the streakers would stay longer and hit. Not sure if it was its "black magic " but can't say it was worse cause it got better! Once we hit 325 out to 375 fish were coming in and on the attack. The dreamweaver pink eye mag got mvp on the spoons. Took a steelhead and king at 75 ft. The meat took a couple hits and was responsible for one king and a hit. The Mtn dew spiny good for a hit and run and a loss and a very nice 28 lb king to the boat. Later put down a steelhead spread off the riggers but never really got out to deeper water for them due to my dispatch ruining the day with "we got a load we need picked up" ...well it was fun while it lasted and boated one more steelie on a moonshine RV hotlips. Steve was impressed with the quality of the fish and could not beleive the power they had in the lake. All of the kings were too much for him, as he could not quite get the hang of the rythym of the rod and reeling process. He handed the kings over to me and said "I need to see how this is done" it was fun but was like fishing solo...almost. the big king ran 750 ft off The diver rod that was out 240 and took 45 minutes to the net. free image hosting upload photo image hosting Skipper's catches of the day upload photo Head study on the 28 lbr...nice coloring ==================== [ Post made via Android ]
  10. I thought about this before but haven't tried it. I use a perfection knot in the wire for my connections to terminal stuff like the dipsy and I know the knot is friendly to the wire so if I were to do emergency surgery to the middle of the wire it would involve the perfection loop in it. perfection loop in each end of the cut wire and then perfection loop in a short section of 30 lb mono half hitched to one side of the wire (loop to loop), connect the other end of the mono with a double improved clinch knot to the other wire end loop. The double improved knot is strong but will make a large knot in 30 mono. The loop knots are not very big but retain near 100% strength. Let us know how it works ....I use the loop in wire and double improved clinch on backing of braid with no problems. Mark
  11. HOLY!....that's a lot of fishies Carl, how did ya get the crabface down to the kings without the steelhead scarfing it up first? Mark
  12. I'm reliving scenes from Scarface right now... Thanks for the link Brian!...too late to run in and too light at 20lb. Fun with the kids though over the afternoon. [ Post made via Android ]
  13. Nice job winners!...we had a 20 lb salmon that was caught @ about 1:15 at the 28 line. No chance we could have made it in on time....when I win the lottery, I will have a 36 Fountain center console with quad 300's then we can make it in 15 minutes...or less. Just gotta figure out how to put downriggers in between all those motors on a 9.5 beam :omg: Anyway the kids had fun reeling in some very respectable steelies out there!...three all more than 11 lbs and a 13 lber Thanks for the link Brian. 14. Thanks to all the sponsors and to the commitee for a fine tournament layout. Great to meet friends old and new, and a special thanks to Captain Jerry Felluca for helping me get a spot to park the truck and boat at his barn, and for the chauffeur ride to our camper at Hamlin Beach. A very well run event and great class of patrons in all I came to meet. Absolutley fun weekend. One question...does anyone have the winners and weight of the Sunday big fish?...we were in it but the time ran out on the the only fish we had that could have been a contender. Thanks to all, Mark ..Team Stand & Deliver [ Post made via Android ]
  15. Yup it was a great time for me as well. Mixing camping with fishing and meeting old friends and new. When I first got to the marina on friday nite, it was very late and I could not get in the gate at sandy creek marina. A trip down to nuts corners was next and there I found all the help I needed to get things organized. Thanks to Jerry (Runnin Rebel) for letting me use his barn and space to leave my truck and boat. He then chauffered Lois and I over to my campsite, where Tom and the boys are enjoying the comforts of camp. Next morning we are off to the truck and boat waiting and ready to go. A short drive to the launch and we are in the water clearing the parkway bridge. Looking ahead is the less than two foot wave prediction tossing the boat ahead around. Well that was another grand prediction in the dump. Throttled up the big motor and gouged through the open water to the nose. The 225 did all the trolling for the day as the 9.9 would never be in control of the boat in those waves and wind. I wanted to run the 8 rod spread but it became obvious that mahem came aboard for all that...yes Ray I did get a couple tangles. I trimmed the spread to 6 rods. Three riggers two divers and a copper down the shoot. Luck was not exactly good at first when a nice hit came on a diver first and the the reel was screaming, OMG its a good one and then slack reeling it in was even more disturbing as there was not as much drag as should be from the flasher.....because it was GONE! ..the snap straightened on the swivel off the diver.. ok bad start, and it was a good fish judging the hit and run. Many more fish would come to the boat on the inside waters but no size so Tom points us north into the slop. I mentioned that we could pick up and run to the deep and reset so he wouldn't have to beat hisself to death on the helm, sawing back and forth to keep a steady course. He said it was ok, and the big motor was doing ok to guide us along. We ended up out in 480 to 490 fow where we met a nice screen under the boat. Lots of bait and hooks nearby. Now we start to get some fish to keep in the box. It was late to finally get those fish and we started to box a few smaller fish to at least get 4 in the count. Luckily we didn't have to keep them for the weigh and got some minor upgrades along the way. Nothing huge. Four kings and the boys Dustin and Franz reeled them in. They did a fantastic job in the heavy seas out there, as there were a few good 5 and 6 foot waves thrown in. Some very steep I might add. The run back to port was exhilarating! ..hammered down at 30mph quartering on the following sea and we git a free shower along the way in the open cockpit of the center console Aquasport Osprey. We stayed the whole day straight off Devils nose, and watched the black ominous sky towards Braddocks hang there for most of the day. The waterspout was barely visible from our position but we could see it after the announcement came on the radio. Back at camp, all of us sore and tired from the washing machine effect, more friends came to join in the campfire setting and listen to our stories and enjoy the night relaxing, eating hotdogs, having refreshments, and occasional dozing off in the zero gravity chair The two 13 year olds did a great job in terrible conditions for them, and placed themselves in the middle of the field of competition. Very respectable for them and they had fun doing it. A special time for me as well, and I can't wait to do it again. Ok Ray, I'll bet to beat your shorts off next year.... ..what was I thinkin ....he has no tan lines.... :omg: NO SHORTS... Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  16. Congrates Shawn, on the big steelie! We had a very impressive catch of steelies as well the day after, and the king bite we had earlier in the tournament was a little slower, but those steelies made up for it. The boys did a good job on them arnd got three up to 13 lbs , along with a very nice olive colored 20 lb king. A little late for the big fish challenge weigh in on Sunday. We were at the 27 to 30 lines at 1:15 and no chance to check it for place, but the kids were having fun fishing so we played with the steelies with some impressive air time! Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  17. Good job Kooter!...those steelies are really sizing up lately....tackle wreckers indeed, with all their aerial displays. Nice fish! Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  18. I know.....I need to pay attention to that more often when taking pics. Believe me......they had a great time! They were very impressed with the fishery this year. Hahaha....they look stunned!...great job on the "stunning" performance Rick. They are stone cold convinced now, that lake O and you can give them a good time. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  19. Awesome time fishing the tourney this year. My team, Tom (tcon), friend Lois, Toms boy Dustin, and friend Franz, two 13 year olds did a great job piloting the boat and the boys reeled the fish. Thanks to all who put this event together, an even better time than last year. Great job on the fish box Brian! It was certainly a rough day to keep a good spread working, as we found out on a couple tangles, trimming back a couple rods was a better plan for us. looking forward to next year. Congrates to all the winners! Mark [ Post made via Android ]

  23. 4 stroke?..definitely fuel delivery problem if needing choke. Start at the float valve. Remove it. Take the needle out. Clean the seat of any debris. Rubber pieces get lodged there from the hose...ethanol trouble. Needle and seat are narrow passageway and easy to clog not allowing enough gas in the bowl. Opposit can happen too. Needle won't seat and gas floods the bowl. Be sure next to check o rings on the hose connectors, no cracks, none missing. Clamps are there and tight on bulb. Check valve in bulb working....just to start with. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  24. COMON RAY!...ya gotta have a better excuse than that!......what ya think...somebody gonna steal yer shorts in the competition? I got hotdogs for ya at site 72 man! [ Post made via Android ]
  25. Nice job...love the pics! [ Post made via Android ]
