  1. Would of been great if on auto pilot and it was a 14 foot log instead of a kayak. No one to **** at except his stupid self. Oops, I'm hungry, set my cruise on the interstate and go in the back and make me a sandwich Good thing common sense is more common or this would happen everyday [ Post made via Android ]
  2. Nice report Rick hope to be out there by the last weekend this month. Mark
  3. http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2012-0 ... al-service Thinking of him as I pass the Mercury Marine plant and test facilities in Fond du Lac, Wi. [ Post made via Android ]

  5. Just get the camera, snap the pic of the reg number and charters name, be sure to include the forefront of water and distance between you and post it on here and other places for some good Google exposure. Business was never as good as before. [ Post made via Android ]
  6. Wear a respirator Tim....what is that blackened crap!....ah mold...mmmm good. ...hope its a rolling project for ya and it doesn't cut in on fishing time. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  7. What bothers me more is this scenario....hey! I won the big 10 million dollar lottery and I'm buying a 65 foot Hatteras sport fisherman and I am just gonna take it out with my friends and fish lake O. No license required or any wheel time necessary. It has 45 tons of mass is 18 feet wide and powered with 4000 horses. Docking should be no problem. Sorta like asking a 16 year old that is driving a smart car to drive my 18 wheeler parallel park it or back into a blind side loading dock flanked by other trucks. More than a written test and exam should be required. However no rule says you can't drive a 40 foot fifth wheel camper behind a pickup and in some states still hook another trailer behind that! But we all know boats don't handle quite the same as land vehicles. Knowing the navigational aspects is just the beginning but not the end to developing handling skills. Any vessel or vehicle is only as safe as the common sence being exercised at the wheel. As Tom Longline pointed out over and over again in his quest for knowledge in regards to the cause of accidents, in most cases it was influences of alcohol or drugs. Which by the way are amplified by the effects of the sea conditions further reducing the common sence. Too bad there wasn't a scale to measure that first. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Atta way to go Mark! How's it feel to be on the receiving end of hooked!.....bet she won't release ya! Best wishes to you both! Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  9. How does the town own lake Ontario except for water supply site rights?...are you sure they didn't mean to restrict the act of anchoring near the water supply inlets? [ Post made via Android ]
  10. Here's a good one. In my travels one day I noticed the price of 93 octane way lower than 87 at several different stations. My guess is it sat and was spoiling faster than selling it. This was in Iowa, with all the corn? [ Post made via Android ]
  11. He had a great commercial out for a while that had him laying in a hammock, saying how he never dreamed, and then they rolled highlights of all these fish he caught and things he did. He said something along the lines of, “why would I dream, look what I do every day.†Or he would say “sweet happy redfish goodness,†or just “sweet happy goodness†when ever he caught a fish. He is missed already and my DVR is set for all his shows he had. Peace in the seas of heaven Jose, you are closer to the fish Gods now. Mark
  12. Thats great, I think it makes sense, because of the cost of high octane fuel and the relative lack of need for it in most of todays engines, and 93 is no big improvement on 87 octane anyway. It still is too low for collectors or high compression engines not to mention it still has power robbing alcohol in it with all the bad aspects still there. cost, well who is gonna buy it, last time I checked there wasn't a Corvette in everyones drive.
  13. I agree that the evening trips are more relaxed, less pressure at the launch, trying to get in and park before the lot fills up all in the dark (and my eyes are open ) but there is something relaxing about the troll into the sunset and the evening run back to port, lights on, smooth sea, and the success of a good catch in the box. I have had very good catches in the late afternoon especially in mid to late summer way offshore. Most times like mentioned, it is solitude and not a boat in site. Mark
  14. Uhh, let me see if I'm in nova Scotia and a half time.....testing....testing. Nope...same as where I am.....oops....central time..ok I fix There...dam I feel older now..thought the sun was a little low today (wisconsin)....no wonder I'm late everywhere, but I got more sleep [ Post made via Android ]
  15. Sounds like fun Rick!...better than trolling the hyways [ Post made via Android ]
  16. My condolences to his family ...he was my most loved fisherman on TV. I would stop what ever I was doing and come in the house, sit and live vicarious through him for 30 minutes in his show. I looked up his plane and it was an experimental, but he owned it since 2006. An aerocomp with turbo prop 200 HP engine. http://www.spanishflytv.com/article/bui ... rplane-ii/ His project for the construction of his kit plane. Rest in peace Jose and may your seas be calm forever. You will be missed but not forgotten. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  17. If you go with manuals, try to get the old proos with that huge wire reel. They are fast on retrieve and give you lots of leverage with that big reel. One crank will bring in at least 2 feet or close to 2.5 to 3 feet of cable (the reel is 10 inches in diameter....a little math (pie x diameter) ..3.1416 x 10 = 31.1416 inches per crank. Of course electrically powered riggers are just plain easier, and if fishing alone it can be trouble with a screaming king and then a second one, and the riggers are still hanging in the water waiting to saw your prize off the line when it wraps around the cable. I know, I speak from the experience,....more than twice, ....a day....cranking fish and riggers at he same time has not been one of my best dances. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  18. Actually fogging an efi engine involves no more than getting a spray can of fogging oil and doing the job in one of two ways. Neither of which do you start and run the motor. Very simply just remove the spark plugs and spray about a 3 second shot into the cylinders and with the plugs removed then turn the key and cycle the engine a couple of revolutions. That will protect the upper cylinder area of the motor which is most prone to condensation and corrosion over storage. The other way is to remove the intake filter and spray the fog into each of the throttle bodies with the throttle open and cranking the engine over with the man overboard "dead man" kill switch lanyard (some engines will not crank) off or the ignition wires removed from the plugs. Have someone assist with the cranking part and as before spray a 3 second shot into the air intake. That will also coat the lower crankcase area in a TWO STROKE ENGINE but is not as critical as the upper cylinders where that is the "dry" combustion part of the engine. FOUR STROKE can be done each way also but in both engines I prefer the spark plug hole application the best as all you really want is the upper cylinder area covered. If you run the engine every couple months or so I wouldn't get concerned about protecting it. But if it is stored for a winter or even for years I would do the fogging, cause ya never know when you will actually get it out and run it again, and the thing will never cross your mind in a year with lifestyle distractions. 21. Ethanol has caused problems with fuel injected outboards too like my yammy saltwater OX66. it has messed up the 3 low pressure fuel pumps rubber diaphragms and the vapor separation tank screen gets white residue all over it if sits for more than 60 days. Engine starts starving for fuel. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
  22. Great looking boat, looks a lot like my Aquasport. Nice set of powerful Yammies. Should be very quick and efficient. Mark [ Post made via Android ]
