whats the best way to edit mini dv to movies and make a cd
skipper19 replied to ray koziatek's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Put yer mini dvd in the drive and import the vids to windows movie maker, it's prolly already in yer puter....assuming it is a windows platform and a xp or vista version. When done editing and including sound tracks you can produce a video and save it to your hard drive in the program and burn it to cd or dvd. prolly more than a polock can wrap his skull around but should be easy enough for a guy who sticks pipes together...unless they leak. if yer drive doesn't support the mini disc then usually you can plug the camera directly to the usb and hopefully you got some software with the camera and you can import vids that way....or send them to Musky, he will edit them properly and make sure we all don't see the buffy parts ...well that should leave about 35 seconds of G rated movie -
Hey....we should hook up and start a new business! look at all the hours we could get paid 20 bucks for just assembling stuff for birthday gifts and Christmas! Heck those guys will prolly pay more just to keep their sanity. I need to get outta this truck anyway.

Any good jerky recipes out there for venison?
skipper19 replied to bluewater's topic in Fish & Game Recipes
I know Shawn (FX) makes some gooood jerky, I have had some last year. Didn't last more than a day...maybe two you will do well with his, here are a couple of other of my favorites. In case your interested in some real zest....and COLD COLD beer....or trying to warm up on those cold days on the ice filling your pail with catch of the day, try this, but adjust the heat with the other dry ingredients to heat tolerance! This is for muscle strips and hickory smoke for 3 hours, then dry time. Try to keep the smoker over 150 but under 200 degrees if you can. Give Me Some Water Now! Jerky This one can be as hot as you like it. Are you brave enough? This seasons five pounds of meat. Down one shot of Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila.(optional) Now for the marinade, start with... 1 cup of Cuervo Gold tequila 2 tablespoons canning salt 2 tablespoons white sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons of Tender Quick 1/4 cup of Tabasco brand pepper sauce ...and now for the heat ... Adjust these ingredients to your individual taste. Add 2 tablespoons of powdered cayenne, a half-dozen chopped Jalapenos, and 2 finely chopped Habanero peppers. Be darned careful when working with the peppers...wear plastic gloves and DON'T touch your eyes or face. IMPORTANT!!!! Allow this marinade to steep for several hours(or overnight) before combining with the meat. This will give time for the tequila to pull the heat and flavor out of the peppers. Add the marinade to the slices of venison(five pounds), mixing well. Marinate overnight in the fridge before smoking/dehydrating. The meat can be rinsed off quickly before drying, or the little bits of pepper can be left on for added pleasure/torture! FOR A MORE MILD AND TASTY SNACK STICK I LIKE THIS FOR GROUND USING A ROUND NOZZLE ON THE JERKY SHOOTER AND TWO PANS (ABOUT 2.5- 3 HRS. SMOKE) OF HICKORY/CHERRY MIX IN THE SMOKER Italian Deer Sticks Recipe 3 pounds ground venison 2 pounds ground pork 2 tablespoons canning salt 1 1/2 teaspoons Tender Quick Curing Mix 1 1/2 teaspoons dry oregano, crushed 1 1/2 teaspoons dry basil 1 teaspoon dry rosemary 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 cup dry red wine Mix the venison and pork (if a little moister product is preferred use pork) together thoroughly, then add the salt and Tender Quick, mixing well. Allow this to rest in the fridge for two days. WITHOUT the other ingredients. (you will add the spices and mix just before smoking) Combine the dry ingredients , and add to the ground venison/pork mixture along with the wine. Again, mix thoroughly. If you use your hands for mixing, wear plastic gloves to prevent wine stains. Allow this to rest for one hour. Form the meat mixture and smoke/dehydrate until done. Mark -
Ray said, "Yup Musky told me his story ,but back then they used clubs and stones.. Skippy was one of the first settlers to shoot a deer with a flintlock.." But Ray was the first to discover the loin cloth.....worn by everyone else, while he was buffy hunting with an atladl! We love you Ray!...now put yer clothes on! [ Post made via Android ]

I have no experience with the I phone, but do have an HTC EVO 4 G. I like it and have had it for about a year with no complaints. Millions of apps like the Apple content but in Android market. Great camera features and as mentioned before it mates well with the mobile version of LOU, and makes instant access out on the water an easy task. It has almost replaced the laptop for many things, including this post. Mark [ Post made via Android ]

Actually...that buck looks more mature in body than in antler. Unless you are a smaller guy, and that old 16 ga. Has a much longer barrel than normal,...all kidding aside, ..that's a nice buck and the horns will come for you yet. Gives ya something to look forward to, going into the woods for many years to come...I sense the 17 year old with the 17 point bow kill this past October in Bergen, ny may be a little disappointed for a good while in the rest of his hunting. That's a buck of a lifetime. You will remember this first buck and how you played "hooky" for the chance! ...I'll bet you told grandpa and he would remember his days of skippin' school too!...I know I would, and do, 39 years ago. I like those kind of days where you get to finally be together, and that seems like the prize until it gets the iceing like that with a great successful hunt. Good memories will be the best. Good job Dad and Son! Mark [ Post made via Android ]

Great buck Shawn! Good read on the bedding area and wind play. Wish I was able to hunt this week as I believe the secondary rut and less pressure will bring some good bucks out of the thick stuff. I'll get a chance the last couple days of muzzy season, might just use the stick and string since I'm not crazy about dirtying up the smoke pole for two days of hunting. Congratulations on a fine deer! Looks a lot like the one I saw during bow and could not get a clear shot. Nice symetrical rack. Mark [ Post made via Android ]

""WARNING"" PLEASE ALL READ NO JOKE !!! IF U LOVE LIFE
skipper19 replied to ray koziatek's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Bringing this back cause It's like Ray said, "No joke". I just got my furnace cleaned, but not before Thanksgiving day. Sooooo, guess what!....Yup ...FAIL!...and short of calling our beloved hero HVAC man..(dun dun DAHH!) On his turkey and giblet special neck sucking day! ...I got no choice but to go clean the exchanger and flue my not so expert self! Well I found out a shop Vac is not the best soot sucker to use but at least I wore a breathing mask. Shouldda wore a helmet too! Frying pans hurt when someone finds soot upstairs and they got black feet....oops. So a word to the wise, make sure It's cleaned and adjusted BEFORE a holiday, otherwise ya might invite "Murphy" to yer party....or Ray on holiday rate, appease him with a nice juicy turkey neck and get a discount, Thanks Ray! Great reminder. Mark [ Post made via Android ] -
zzzzzzzz,..........huh?....oh, fell, asleep on the couch....happy thanksgiving everyone! [ Post made via Android ]

If I was going for a new gas model, the new Strikemaster lite with the 4 stroke http://www.basspro.com/StrikeMaster-Str ... 7337/73518 would be it. Not cheap $549.95 but only 23 lbs. Picked one off the rack at Bass Pro and almost hit myself in the nose with it after hoisting my old jiffy around for the last 20 years. Yeah jiffy is good but bring a separate sled for it. It depends a little on how thick the ice is too. 5 or 6 inches is where a good hand auger would compete with a power auger as well. Once ice is 10 inches or more the power auger starts to become quicker and easier too reach liquid. I suspect he probably already has a manual auger though. Mark [ Post made via Android ]

I feel bad for Ray. He got dupped and that was what caused his ultimate demise. I know he was watching those commercials where the goof cave man kills the terrifying T-REX and the pterodactyl. His eye was on the cave woman, and saw how the hero of the day was winning the beautiful cave woman with all her teeth still intact. She flew right over to him without a second glance at the buffed (not buffy) caveman flexing his biceps on rocks. The obvious point of the commercial being totally misunderstood is understandable, (I think I can say that?) any how, Ray feels that this broadhead has to be a magic bullet, and the result will be simple. Get the pretty female without actually buffy hunting anymore! What a great concept! Well the T-REX of all pachyderms, the buck of a lifetime comes along and Ray goes for the pump station right behind the scapula of the huge beast. Now he said he only got 2 inches penetration from his BROAD?head. What's that all about? It's unfortunate that commercials should be so misleading and cause such frustration to good folks like Ray, and have him get bruised ego, (and knees from kicking his azzz with both feet..at once) for not seeing the real point of the add. The Rage, like all retractable mechanical broadheads flies true and straight like a field point, and that is is best attribute. So the moral here is keep yer eyes on the prize, the terrifying T-REX and giant flying reptile, or the huge pachyderm of a buck with thirty points! This way you will choose what works best for ya Ray, and then you can post the prize and your buffy (not buffed) pics here on LOU to all who admire you for your gracious enlightenment to us of your tried and true (i think?) experiences! Thank you oh great OMGANOTHERSHORTFATBALDONE, for you have shed some light (and hair) on our quest to find the ultimate broad attrac...I mean Ummmm er HEAD! now go gitcher gun and use bullets. Never mind the girl, git the monster buck and post a pic and another great story for us!....Best of luck oh great Baldy! and be safe, stand clear of falling pterodactyls!
