Measure 17" using a shim to line up cavitation plate (eyeballed it before)1528656426877152865652843515286565564391528656593029 Sent from my SM-G950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
It does have an alternator.
I don't know how to answer the long/short shaft question. When I look up specs, it says 15" transom height is short and 20" is long. I measure 18" from transom clamp to cavitation plate. Maybe someone else can help me out here.
$30 Reel or all 5 for $125
Two are missing the glass cover over the line counter. Four are spooled with 20# big game, One has a small amount of high vis backer.
Watch out for strong south winds in the forecast. That lake can get some pretty big waves at the north end with a south wind. Anything else, you'll be fine.
The parking scenario for trucks & trailers kinda sucks but you'll manage (Up the hill across the street). If you motor south on the west side, you'll pass Red Jacket Yacht club (you'll see the sail boats). Not long after you'll drop to 100 FOW and see large green lawns on the west shore. You can setup there and troll east. You'll see farm silos on the east and west shores that you can troll between. Have fun! Can't wait to see the reports!
I'm jealous of that yellowfin trip! I went last year for some out of NJ. How long was your charter at the outer banks? How long to get to the fishing grounds?

From the posts in this thread, most sightings of dead fish are near the inlets (Watkins Glen & Dresden). How do water samples compare to those taken from the inlets of the other lakes? Sent from my SM-G950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Thanks to all who posted and to all who are reporting to those in authority to affect the condition of the lake. Sounds like the root cause is very complex. I hope it can be found and corrected. Sent from my SM-G950U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Try pulling the two screws that hold the roller switch in place and leaving it loose. If the engine doesn't stall shifting into gear you know you need a new switch. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Lily, if it's a mercruiser, there is a shift interupt switch that can get sticky. It kills the motor momentarily while switching into/out of gear. Just spray it with wd40 and push the button with your finger a bunch of times. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
This guy doesn't mind the baitfish washing up on shore. Been sunning himself on the rocks at Sampson. Sent from my SM-G920V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
