People - write a post
pvelyk replied to rbtking618's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
The boat is not in the water yet do to high water related docking and launching issues, so no reports yet this year. Having said that not a big fan of a majority of us being "chastised" for not posting by a users with 37 and 100 posts. You kind of get what you give. Lots of people willing to help here, but you will find that they are more willing to do it out of kindness and being asked instead of being told its a responsibility. I have never had an issue getting info from lake guys here. Sometimes a PM is the way to go as guys don't always want thier reports to make them a target of follow the leader when they get on the water. -
I Bay launch closed
pvelyk replied to fishaholic59's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
As Per WHEC.com: The Town of Irondequoit has decided to temporarily close the public boat launch located at the Irondequoit Bay Marine in Sea Breeze due to flood waters. Canoes and kayaks will still be permitted to launch from the park, but may not access the docks or ramp. The launch has become flooded with debris and much of it is under water, which poses a public safety risk. The public will be notified as the status of the launch site changes, which depends on the receding levels of the water. -

You just beat me on that one.

Finger Lakes Tackle still has pictures of the spoon, but I would warn you not to order any from the websites as there are large threads of people who have not received there orders and money issues regarding refunds. http://fingerlakestackle.com/products?keywords=Black+meat If you need someone to paint spoons for you I would recommend Nick at Hybridlures (www.hybridlures.com), he has awesome skills.

Adding nutrients back into the lake Well it looks like a side effect of all this flooding on the big lake is adding some nutrients back into the lake. Just not the Ideal ones: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/2017/05/02/rain-flooding-send-sewage-into-local-waterways/101198278/ Faced with a lakeshore sewer system brimming with flood water, Greece began pumping partly treated sewage into Long Pond on Monday. The emergency discharge was continuing Tuesday, town Supervisor Bill Reilich said. "Had we done nothing we would have had the possibility of sewage pouring into people’s basements," he said. The sewage is chlorinated before being pumped into the pond, Reilich said. State environmental officials were informed of the emergency action. Monroe County released 3.4 million gallons of stormwater and untreated sewage into the Genesee River about 6:30 p.m. Monday after the rainfall filled available storage. Sanitary sewage and stormwater that's collected in curbside drains share a combined sewer system in the city of Rochester, and can overflow after heavy rains.

Hi Duke, welcome aboard, lots of info to be had here. Best bet is to ask more specific questions and plenty of the guys here will give you answers. Also most question have been asked before so the search function can be your best friend. Lots of the clubs offer round tables during the offseason which can help your learning curve. Last but not least most guys will recommend taking a charter and tell the captain you want it to be a learning trip. This will be the fastest way to get up to speed. No matter what you choose if you put effort in you will catch fish it's just a matter of how quick you want to speed up the learning curve. Good luck this year.

I have seen pictures and videos on the Conesus Lake Facebook page of pike starting a run about a week or so ago but haven't heard much lately. The high water made the jump over the dam become more of a swim over the dam.

Hey I applaud your troubleshooting!

Scott you are quite the troubleshooter. We should get you on the local news. "Here is Scott on your side with a story of uninstalled docks, and how he got the man to install them!"

So glad I moved last year to. The guys dockeddown there are great but the atmosphere at East Fork is so much better with the way Tommy runs it. Amazing how one guy can have such a negative impact on the atmosphere down there. Hoping all the guys hurt by this find a solution quick. Sandy fisherman are great guys and didn't deserve this rug being pulled on them.
