I don't think trickle down affect is completely understood by the people controlling our economy. Put yourself in my shoes. I spend on an average of $5000 per month in fuel. Everytime time fuel goes up I need to adjust pricing. How fair is it for the retired people on very fixed incomes to absorb the additional expense. My two cents and you will not like it but either give small businesses a tax incentive on fuel or tax fuel for un-necessary use. The soccer moms driving big v8 SUVs, recreational off road tax or raise registrations on gas consuming vehicles not used commercially. Charter captians should be classified as commercial or small business. The bottom line is I would never stop fishing even if gas prices went to $10 per gal. But if fuel cost me business and challenges my livelihood then concessions need to be made. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Go with the longer shaft. If your in waves a short shaft can come out of the water or if you set it down to far you'll have the opposite problem where waves will bury the back of your kicker potentially stalling it. Your mounting position is critical. You'll want below the back of the boat to avoid cavitation but at the same time you want not adding drag when in the up position. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Still Looking for a new boat..

newer 25ft trophy in Syracuse Craigslist. Looked sweet -
We use the nail knot to connect backing to copper and copper to leader. Depending on what you fishing depends on the leader. Flasher fly - 30lbs mono. Spoons run clean then I would run the florocarbon. I will not run the copper in my releases. Clip it to the backing or i know a few guys who will splice in mono sections every one hundred yards for a more versitile set up. Me I run 200, 300, 400, 500 separate rods and reels. And yes off the boards or down the shoot. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

My two cents. I run a dual planer on my cuddy. I run the line down both sides of the boat and either hook the line to a side rod holder or lay the boards right on the floor while running. I very rarely go out on the front of the boat till I'm back at the dock. Electric is definetely the way to go. I run my boards a lot during the entire season with core and copper. As far as the kicker, my old mariner 9.9 4 stroke pushed my 23 ft Larson with no problem. In fact it will be for sale shortly. It will need a new fuel pump if you plan on pulling fuel from your main tank. Don't be afraid to watch ebay and craigslist. I have bought a ton of those sites in the past. Nice fish! Ready and seeing the results of your trip just makes winter all the longer. The next purchase on the horizon may need to be a something with an outboard that can be towed during mid winter thaws. Happy new year !!!! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

I recently purchased a large lot of spoons. After sorting them all out I have one shoe box half full of blanks ranging from 2 1/2 to 6 inches. Most of them are between 3 and 4 inches. An accurate description would be some painted, some only cup painted, some not painted. To be honest many of them just need some tape or touch up paint or a cleaning or some may need a bit more. If your a "do it yourself". You can easily fill a tackle box with custom spoons. I would estimate there is between 200 & 300 spoons. Make me an offer. Buyer pays actual shipping. Will fit in a flat rate box. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

I tested a 9.9 yamaha long shatf high out put at the end of the season last year. Needless to say I retired my old Marineer 9.9. If you are going to take the plunge I'd go big or go home. Get the controls at the helm, electric start and the charging system. Mine is being put on as we speak. Yamaha had a large rebate offer after thanksgiving which I believe goes until 1/1/2011. You'll be surprised how much more effecient it will be. I am running a 23 ft Larson (fiberglass) and it was no problem to push her at 3.5 mph into a 15 mph head wind.

I always explain these actions by companies this way. They are not fishing tackle companies, they are marketing companies who just so happen to market fishing tackle. It took me a while to figure this out in business and now I run a marketing company that markets landscaping. Simply put! As far as discontinued lures, spend an hour or two on bay and I am sure you'll find what your looking for or get someone to paint something similar. and of coarse you will moat likely find a few other must have lures in your search. The weather gets cold, and all the anglers resort to "fish please no". Gotta love it when winters gone and we spend more time outside then online.

Scott, No chance of that, I am lucky cheryl enjoys being out on the water just as much as me. We only argue about lure selection (she likes pretty lures- i like ones that catch fish) and what time to start in the am. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Good to hear guys are still getting out on the lake. I am going through withdrawl. Lately the closest I've been to water was the cruise ship on the honey moon a week ago. I did sit on the aft and wonder how 500ft of copper would do? Even in the blue waters of the carribean, I know my home is on the lake in NY.

Send me a PM I can hook you up. I retired 6 of these last year, liked them but wanted something alittle bigger. I can throw in rods also. I'll let you know what I have. -
Nice fish/ I'm jealous. I pulled the boat out two weeks ago. Way earlier then normal but she is getting cleaned/ polished and a few upgrades for 2011 so I guess it's worth it. We'll have to catch up on the lake next year.

Doozer, what size Kokanee Killer? I looked at them online and they list them sizes 1 and 2 w/ no reference to actual measurements?

Positive thoughts produces positive results, you've got the positive thoughts now tell him it's time for the positive results! Andy your family is our prayers. PS Tyler says " this is not an excuse for the youth division LOU-ALL next year". Elliot needs to get well and deflate my nephews ego.
