Still had them when you were in the warm water. 60 degrees when your 80 feet down. Not bad though.

Congrats that's a nice fish. We fished hard both days only targeting big fish. I thought we had it figured out when 7:10am Sat when we put a 10lbs laker in the boat. After a quick run to Myers we set back up and found the fishing to be exactly what everybody was saying on the radio. We stayed just north of Tuaghannock both days searching from 100fow to 350fow. The fish were there but the desire to hit was not. Sunday we did the same program and Cheryl managed a laker good enough for 10th on the board. It was a great way for us to wind down the season. Our program was riggers at 75 to 95, dipseys parked at 240 and 250 and 400 copper. Our bigger fish came on Flasher / Fly. We searched for Temp all weekend and yes we found it late morning sunday just south of Taughannock. The fish were more cooperative but no big takers. John

I would be curious as to what your down temp is there? I wonder if you've found a warm current of water? I would not dismiss this area and check it out from time to time. Some of my best fishing is on Temp breaks. Mower

I agree over 10 should get you on the board, but I know a few guys who are going to try to knock the top laker off w/ a fat brown. Could happen! Personally I think the fishing is going to be tough -pre spawn stage is happening and the temps south are still to warm for the migration. My plan to hit wpt after wpt until I find active fish. I pulled out the log book for the last few years and at least have a starting point.

One thing is I do wish our SD manufactors would paint these in the more poplar colors. Maybe the right person will read this???

I run these w/ smaller flies, either trim the normal size flies to 1/2 length or get a few coho candy sized flies (just single treble) We have caught some LL and Bows on these from early spring till late fall. I'll run these on 300 copper/ high rigger or shallow on the wire. It is my go to presentation when times are tough.

Can you send me a few more pictures? Cabin pictures would also be great. [email protected]

Andy, For alittle zip once and a while try Lupos Buffalo Spedie Marinade. When we have company over we'll do that on a couple fillets and a couple in lemon garlic. It has just a nice zip - never too much for even the "mild at heart" people.

Well it's final- I'm out this weekend. I had to weigh my options and it's either this weekend or next. i have to leave the boat in the slip and take care of family obligations. Tight lines to everybody and to the Cayuga Team don't give up any ground, lets set a standard for next year that is hard to beat! Mower

Try calling Don's Marina in King Ferry, he may be able to work out something w/ you? It may not be pretty but functional.

Sean, Beautiful Bow. I saw you guys hooked up often as we tried to get ahead of you and into the skinny water on west side near the Boy Scout camp. Thanks for slowing alittle and giving me plenty of room I was hoping you wouldn't cut me short and grab my 450 copper. Mower

Tried this recipe for the lake trout caught on Cayuga. I must admit-normally I am so happy to find someone to take the lake trout we catch on Cayuga that are hooked to deep to release. Now I have a reason to keep a few on occasion. We did a batch last week and it was Phenomenal! Thanks for sharing it! Mower

The rims you need are from old chevy's at the junk yard they are called big chevy rims. I have spares for all my trailers for my business. the bolt pattern is chevy rims pre 1980. Good luck finding ones in good shape. If your looking for axels this winter let me know I have a tandem axle equipment trailer w/ 2 3500lbs axels under it. We twisted the frame but axles are in good shape. If you want to travel for them we can make a deal.

I do not want to say anything. I figure as soon I open my mouth it's all over according to Murphy's Law. I will say that compared to years past we are having alot of fun this year! Good luck to everybody.

On Copper run white/glow in the AM Spin doc and fly and then I run a silver/glow ( the silver nuclear spin doctor w/ a BW proctologist has a been solid producer late Morning). I think the copper presentation is stealthy and catches alot of those drop back fish that never grab anything in the spread.

Nice Job. Sounds like were fishing the same waters. I do try in shallower in the AM though and as the sun gets higher I go deeper. We have been doing very well on lakers and silver fish. Your down temp will tell you how to get the silver fish! We had two big lakers last weekend both over 12 lbs w/ the biggest at 12.9. Our hot rod was 400 ft of copper for lakers. That is so much fun to yell fish on and see the guys face when he realizes it is that rod. Our dipseys and riggers did equally well but it seemed like when one was on the other was off and they would switch back and forth. We generally fish 6 to noon then run for lunch. Sounds like I need to make an evening run to see how things are then. Mower

Try stepping up your spoon size / we stopped running smaller spoons on cheaters and it has paid off.

I agree w/ RR. Sit through Capt Daniels Class from sea tech and you'll see just how easy it is not. I thought I handle a pretty good handle on things till I took this class and realized just how much I didn't know. Now you are probably the guy I curse at for not knowing the "rules of the road" or the guy who gets his name in the paper for spending our tax dollars while someone rescues you due to a bone head move! Fished in the rain sunday late AM to early afternoon and did pretty good. Managed a few silver fish biggest bow was just under 6lbs and a nice brown around 9lbs. The action wasn't fast but slow and steady. we fished our program up high, nothing below 70 ft down. we were only targeting silver fish. Fished the west side below Tuaghannock to rocky dock. The screen seemed better south. Did fish on green/silver spoons on the riggers and fished Dave's (from R&R) new attractors on our dipseys w/ atomik flies. These attractors are a winner. Totally different action than the S/D and they catch fish. I'll be splitting my time now between spin doctors and R&R attractors. We set our wire at 150 and 140 and the riggers parked at 65 and 55. Hope it's alittle drier next weekend. Mower

After meeting you in at our captians class. That boat fits you to a "T". Let me know how that handles the rough water. That boat is not an option for me though, my fiance needs a little more privacy and comfort in the cuddy.

is this a good set up for the price?
Mower replied to coast2coast's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
Brett place is by far one of the best places to buy from. He warranties rods w/ no questions asked. He'll also put together any set up you need. Darrin is who I've been dealing w/. -
Split- you had so much fun the first time- your doing it again??

A little confusion.....

R&R is bringing his attractors back in numerous sizes and some new fantastic colors.
